They were equiped with between 1-5 hrs. of oxygen a piece -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm not sure where you got that, but its pretty rare to go underground with O2, unless you are going in as a rescuer. There usually is some O2 in tanks located in lunchrooms or resuce rooms, but you have to get to those. The only typical form of breathing aparatus miners carry are Self Rescuers that extract the CO when breathing through it. It doenst create O2 tho, nor is it a pleasant experience to have you lips and throat burned by the exotermic reaction. Remster Muff 914

I voted yes, I have been following it, and they have some highly trained men with 20 plus years trapped. I think they have found a place with oxygen to wait for rescue. The company has drilled severial holes trying to locate their exact position, but have been unsucessful thus far. They were equiped with between 1-5 hrs. of oxygen a piece. Regarding pin tests. I have retested pins when upon inspection one thing or another made me wonder about the pin. It is an easy test. Majority of skydivers are penny pinchers when it comes to the rigging. I have repaired many pieces of equipment that should have been repaired long ago.

We've been waiting for one to get started for over a year over near NASA, and it seems like I read recently of another in the Houston area that made plans but never broke ground.

Last year I was in Florida for the symposium and to vacation, so of course I went to the tunnel in Orlando. In my group was a family of 5 adults who had all bought skyrides. They were very nervous, and fearful about skydiving. I guess it was an impulse buy and couldn't get a refund. I pieced all of this together after our time was up and I heard one of the wemon say, "Well now I know what it's like, and I am no longer as fearful" " It was actually kinda easy" A couple of days latter I saw the whole group at a local DZ making their jumps.
