  1. They wish it were that easy, where did you get that idea? Kim Watch as I attempt, with no slight of hand, to apply logic and reason.
  2. Won't argue with that! Kim Watch as I attempt, with no slight of hand, to apply logic and reason.
  3. I'll save you the trouble of searching through the website: http://www.performancedesigns.com/docs/linetrims/LS_120-170LT.pdf You can find the line trim for just about every PD canopy ever made on this page http://www.performancedesigns.com/support.asp?filter=sport and tons of other great info. Of course, PD is always an email or phone call away, so if you don't find what you're looking for on the website, real live people are always available to help. 4. They're working on it. Remember - the smaller, low bulk reserves took a few years to complete (to the manufacturer's satisfaction) and be approved. Those sizes were "easy" compared to the larger sizes and is a small part in why the smaller sizes came out first. R&D is expensive and time consuming. They know there's a demand and are busting their humps to make it available, but they won't rush to put something out there before it's ready just because people want it. Ever. Until then, deal with what is available and have appropriate gear for your exit weight and discipline. A heavy rig won't feel that heavy when you're in the shit. 5. You don't expect that you won't see your friend again and you definitely never expect something like this. This is just awful. I will sorely miss Lee's quick wit, exquisite bluntness, big hugs, and watching him fly that canopy with the "little sausages" on top. It wasn't time for you to go, Lee. 6. You should know...you sure had them long enough! Hee, hee! Oh wait. I forgot I was mad at you for that, ya booger... Kim Watch as I attempt, with no slight of hand, to apply logic and reason.
  7. Not all. Individual "skills" are subjective (we all think we're better than we really are), but quality instruction has a huge influence on pilot readiness. I prefer the combination of 3 (instruction, experience, skill--in that order), but to each their own. Kim Watch as I attempt, with no slight of hand, to apply logic and reason.
  8. E-mail is always the preferred and most convenient method, but if that doesn't work...telephone .
  9. I was so happy to know that many of you were able to finish the comp. I felt bad leaving before the weather broke, but that pesky job thing was calling the shots. Let me just say I was really impressed (again) with the overall improvement of everyone's performance that was impossible to miss. Some of you have made huge strides and it is downright amazing to watch. Thanks for another great weekend and for keeping a positive attitude during the smoke/weather holds! You are all amazing! Chris, you rock. I don't know how you do all that you do & still compete (quite well)! I guess you really like this swooping thing? Amy was a star for pitching in to make this happen. As amazing as Michelle is, she couldn't have done it without her! Sincerely, Your impartial judge who may/may not be influenced with chocolate... 10. ...and your experience is completely relevant. Don't knock yourself. Welcome back Ruffles & congratulations on the better pairing! Kim Watch as I attempt, with no slight of hand, to apply logic and reason.
  11. I have been told that if the hole is not close to a seam and is small, it should simply be monitored on a regular basis. If it gets any bigger, a patch is in order. Since it's a PD canopy, I would suggest you contact them ([email protected]) to confirm and a rep. for the parachute maintenance dept. will be happy to help you Hope that helps!
  12. Man, I'm so out of the loop! When did PD start using mesh sliders for their reserves?
  13. Yes please. I like it just the way it is, sans erroneous birthday. It is a subtle, constant reminder to us all to keep our ego's in check and responsibility to every person in the air with us on EVERY skydive. I honestly believe this means something. Not only to Bob, but to all of us. It is short and sweet and will encourage questions from up-and-coming jumpers. People entering the sport or still new might ask what it means when they see it. A perfect memorial to B.O.B. is to explain what happened and how it can be prevented. Blue Ones, Kim Watch as I attempt, with no slight of hand, to apply logic and reason.
  14. All the bright colors in the world don't mean a thing if they don't bother to look. You can have brand new neon colors, whistles, loud speakers, flashing lights, and fly a predictible pattern--someone can still take you out if they aren't on their game. Until everyone has their shit together before they initiate a hp maneuver, you're better to have a bubble wrap jumpsuit. Head on a swivel, people. Blue Ones. 15. Bob and Danny are hashing it out right now, I have no doubt. Bob is outwardly calm, speaking softly, toking his cigar with one hand, holding his ice-cold Sam Adams in his thermal cup in the other (he was so proud of that thing!). I don't know Danny well enough to know what he is doing, but he seemed quite the character, so I'm guessing his side of the conversation is pretty animated. B-O-B, as he is known in DeLand because there are just so many Bob's, was such an incredibly positive & encouraging man. He was always happy to provide constructive instruction when you were ready to hear it and if you weren't...guess what? You were going to hear it anyway, as well you should. If he pulled you aside, you better believe he had something to say that you should listen to. He was one of those people you heard about. He cared about you and wanted you to be better because he knew you could be. He was always right with his advice, too. I am so grateful that he spotted me leaving the "ghetto" Friday night as he was preparing his home for travel with Dakota to go to Dublin. I didn't want to bother him even though I hadn't seen him for weeks, because he looked busy. He saw me, told me to come back and give him a hug, and told me to never walk by him without giving him a hug again. That's what kind of person he was. Never too busy to let you know he cared about you. Ever. I'll miss him for the wonderful person he was and the amazing advice he had yet to share. God Bless & Blue Skies Bob. 16. Just goes to show you how much pulll I have in development...none! A 160 would have been nice... I don't even care how small they pack--I've heard from the test jumpers that they are incredible canopies! Not fair! Not fair! Kim Watch as I attempt, with no slight of hand, to apply logic and reason.
  17. Other than a few brain cells lost by the bonfire, eh? All the FL DZ's made it through, as far as I know. They were sending up loads in DeLand today. Kim Watch as I attempt, with no slight of hand, to apply logic and reason.
  18. You are soooo helpful Ed!!! How's it going? Kim Watch as I attempt, with no slight of hand, to apply logic and reason.
  19. Okey-dokey. Good luck with that. Kim Watch as I attempt, with no slight of hand, to apply logic and reason.
  20. Try as many canopies as you can and decide what best suits your needs. All of the suggestions so far should keep you busy & on the right track. I would suggest that you try them in the size you're used to jumping first, though (135). It will make comparisons a bit easier. Take your favorite(s), try it/them in the 120, & then decide. Sorry to hear your gear was stolen. Thieves suck. My .02 cents. Have fun! Kim Watch as I attempt, with no slight of hand, to apply logic and reason.
  21. Depends whether you wish to go by the manufacturer suggestion or not. PD recommends pro-packing all of their sport canopies. Are you jumping this or asking because you are a packer? Kim Watch as I attempt, with no slight of hand, to apply logic and reason.

  23. That's fantastic Gail! I'm pretty fortunate in that my Mom was supportive (probably just biting her hand) since day one. I did my first jump on Mother's Day, after all! She has every reason to be proud of you. You are a kick-ass skydiving sister and you make us all proud! Big hugs and pats on back girl! Kim Watch as I attempt, with no slight of hand, to apply logic and reason.
  24. Nice try earth-displacement boy! I saw the sausages on top of the canopy you were flying every time...that ain't one o' mine, my friend! Can't wait to see you! Coming to Sebastian for New Year's? Kim Watch as I attempt, with no slight of hand, to apply logic and reason.
