  1. There is a fourth model, the "Speed" model for jumpers under extremely high performance canopies. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  2. Is this a wide license or a restricted one? Translation: are most/all major sport manufacturers involved or are there only a few select companies? Thanks, by the way.
  3. Did it rip the topskin at the attachment point or something else? [/offtopic] I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  4. L&B actually make a purpose-built leg strap for the ProTrack. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  5. I know it's not an answer, but here is one of many threads on the issue. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  6. Site naming!!! What if some little martian puts himself off of that cliff and goes in under a surplus round??? I'm such a dork. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  7. Gorgeous photo, I'm also awaiting the video... and more pictures! You can't talk about strippers in wingsuits without pictures. Congratulations all around, sounds like it was tremendous. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  8. If I pass 750 feet with my main bridle just reaching extension - knowing the way that my canopy often snivels - I will probably die. I'm not saying that it always takes 750 feet from pitch to flight - it's probably only happened once or twice - but it will certainly happen again on that one particular occasion. I would much rather have a two-out - particularly at my [fairly low] wingloading - than snivel into the ground. Drama aside, I think that the added complexity and potential for failure [be it mechanical or packer-induced] would do more harm than good. Two-outs happen; most of the time they are nothing more than frustrating. I can only think of one death from an AAD-induced two-out and it was an extreme case [a case that Airtec has released a new version of the Cypres to hopefully prevent from ever occurring again]. Obviously that was a canopy speed issue and not a deployment issue, but the result is the same. With regards to other two-outs... have there been any fatalities? Most notably of the low-pull variety? I'm not trying to use this as a point against the AAD design... I'm just curious. Anyway, I think your heart is in the right place but such a design would just add too much complexity for not enough gain in my opinion. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  9. I hate it when people reply like this, but I'd recommend that you do a search. Do one both here and on Skydiving Movies. There have been a lot of hot threads about the jumps and enough videos of them going wrong to dissuade her from trying one. Frankly, your S&TA may not even allow one. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  10. Outside video! Outside video! I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  11. Times at least twice that long have been recorded off of a certain fungi-shaped exit point. I remember wingsuit companies shooting for two minutes... I forget if they've hit that point yet. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  12. Ooooo... I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  13. What size Velo and what size slider? I really don't know what I'm talking about.

  17. Mac or peecee? I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  18. I believe it should PRO-pack normally. That's just a guess, though... don't take my word. I don't know enough to make a blanket statement, but I know I wouldn't jump a used canopy [particularly a 17-year-old canopy] without an inspection. That may just be me... Practice lots and lots of flares. Do a high altitude hop & pop if possible, to give yourself as much time to learn it as possible before landing. If memory serves, the Raven III is an F-111 canopy... and with 17 years under its belt [though only 250 jumps], it probably won't have the flare you may be used to [if you were jumping modern student mains]. Of course, I could've just made all of this up. This is just a 4:00 AM post by a newbie. I really don't know what I'm talking about.

  21. It could be going better but it certainly could be going worse. I'm taking donations... I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  22. I originally wrote: 1. Going well so far 2. Haven't broken anything skydiving 3. Not yet, can't afford it. 4. I have my sit under control, can take up docks, etc. I don't plan on trying head-down this year. 5. Not going to happen. Can't afford to jump that much. 6. Not going to happen. Can't afford to jump that much. 7. Not yet, who knows? 8. Haven't contacted the locals yet. Most importantly: I hope I'm on the right track here... I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  23. Have you been to www.Skydiving-Galleries.com? There are enough high-res pictures there that you - with full permission from whoever took the photos - could "trace" your own. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
  24. Good to know, good to know, sorry for the miniature hijack. Didn't mean anything by it. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
