  1. One of my friends emailed me this: Want gasoline prices to come down? We need to take some intelligent, >united action. >Phillip Hollsworth, offered this good idea: > >This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy gas on a certain day" >campaign that was going around last April or May! > >The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't >continue to "hurt" ourselves by refusing to buy gas. It was more of an >inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT, whoever >thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can really work. > >Please read it and join with us! > >By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at about $1.50 is super >cheap. Me too! It is currently $2.75 for regular unleaded in my town. > >Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to >think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50-$1.75, we need >to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the >marketplace.... not sellers. > >With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to >take action. The only way we are going to see the price of gas come >down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their >gas! > >And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves. > >How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas. But >we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a >price war > > >Here's the idea: > >For the rest of this year, DON"T purchase ANY gasoline from the two >biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL. If they are not >selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they >reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. > >But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon and >Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do!! Now, don't whimp (sic) out >on me at this point... keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is >to reach millions of people!! > >I am sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it >to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)... and those 300 send it to at >least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) ... and so on, by the time the >message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached >over THREE MILLION consumers! > >If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends >each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one >level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!! >Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people and DON"T purchase >ANY gasoline from EXXON and MOBIL. That's all. > >How long would all that take? If each of us sends this email out to ten >more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could >conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!!! I'll bet you didn't >think you and I had that much potential, did you! Acting together we >can make a difference. > >If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. > > >PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $1.30 RANGE AND >KEEP THEM DOWN. 2. I don’t know if I am really aloud to comment on why Arizona was delayed but it really wasn’t due to construction. anyway some of the best things in life you have to wait for. Carlos and Michael were very impressed with the way the tunnel came out. I saw some amazing tunnel video Carlos brought back. its pretty cool to watch especially because after he filmed it he decided that he was going to instill a no fly zone in the tunnel. I cant wait to get out there and see the tunnel and how the instructors are progressing. -Bowen Retired Tunnel Instructor, Sky/Tunnel Coach Former dealer for 2k Composites, Skysystems, Alti-2, Wings

  4. Cool interview. I was just hanging out with her this week at work. I always enjoy watching Juliana fly, whether it be Free flying, back flying with her team mates or just flat flying. I was actually talking to some of the other tunnel instructors at work and the general consensus is that She is probably the best female free flyer out there. I hope that PMTS continue to develop interviews, it’s a nice addition to this forum. -Bowen Retired Tunnel Instructor, Sky/Tunnel Coach Former dealer for 2k Composites, Skysystems, Alti-2, Wings

  6. __________________________________________________ sure you can. someone died in france not to long ago. most people really dont understand how dangerous it really is. death can and does happen but most serious injuries are broken bones and sometimes people break their necks. thats why instructor training is so important. they are the ones that run in front of the bus everyday and attempt to stop these thing from happening.. -Bowen __________________________________________________ Retired Tunnel Instructor, Sky/Tunnel Coach Former dealer for 2k Composites, Skysystems, Alti-2, Wings
  7. buy a 10 minute or 15 minute block of time. that will be the cheapest. the instructors will attempted to teach you new things but you will not get a debrief unless you purchase a coaching package. Or just contact Paige and see what she has available. I ‘m pretty sure Paige and Ari coach for free or do it for very little money. -Bowen Retired Tunnel Instructor, Sky/Tunnel Coach Former dealer for 2k Composites, Skysystems, Alti-2, Wings
  8. Ok this is sky ventures Orlando’s official guidelines. Ages 3 and up (has to be potty trained) and a maximum weight limit of 250 lbs. Now we do make exceptions for those we know are proficient on their bellies, someone who has flown in the tunnel with an instructor before and has a lot of experience but over the years has put on some weight. The reasoning for this is that as an instructor we take an oath that we will do everything in our power to keep a flyer safe. If this means getting hurt in the process then so be it. Now personally I would not take a flyer in that’s 350 lbs. an instructor can decline to take a student in even after the tickets been sold (managers will handle any refund issues). The people at the front desk are suppose to ask anyone in question their weight. Another thing to consider is the surface area to weight. If some one is 6’5” and 250 lbs and another is 5’4” and 250lbs the guy that is 6’5” is going to get more lift then the guy at 5’4”. the shorter guy might not even get off the net even with the fans maxed out at the currant settings. The only way I would take anyone that is over the weight limit is if they agreed to stay no higher then waist level, which is just as good as ten feet up when the objective is to learn turns and some of the other basic movements. The best thing to do is to call skyVentureOlando or AZ or parris or the L1 and see what they say. -Bowen Retired Tunnel Instructor, Sky/Tunnel Coach Former dealer for 2k Composites, Skysystems, Alti-2, Wings
  9. Ok guys, first off I apologize for this topic (I am sure it’s been discussed a million times) but I was at Deland the other day taking Scott Millers canopy course (which by the way is an excellent course) and I noticed 3 videographers and Scott Miller using Mac Powerbooks. Why is this? Are Macs really that good for portable editing? I noticed the cost is crazy for one. But if money was no object then would you buy one? I am not really trying to stir up the Mac vs. P.C. thing. I want to know why all the video guys I see are using them. Thanks, -Bowen Retired Tunnel Instructor, Sky/Tunnel Coach Former dealer for 2k Composites, Skysystems, Alti-2, Wings

  11. We had a guy in his 20's fly at SVO that has Autism. the other instructor never let go of him. he flew him the whole time. he seemed to do well with the noise, etc. -Bowen Retired Tunnel Instructor, Sky/Tunnel Coach Former dealer for 2k Composites, Skysystems, Alti-2, Wings

  21. I wore an Ouragan suit last night for the first time and I loved it, .ZP rocks. A little different then my instructor suit. So it took a few minutes to get use to it but I loved it. I will buy a Ouragan suit as soon as I get some extra cash. -Bowen Retired Tunnel Instructor, Sky/Tunnel Coach Former dealer for 2k Composites, Skysystems, Alti-2, Wings
  22. Ok, Lets get some stuff straight here. SkyVenture is not running a raffle or any other kind of charity event. This is for one individual to make some money off a lottery system. There is no connection between Avion and SkyVenture in any way. He flys at the tunnel and came up with an idea to make some money and hook up one lucky person. -Bowen Retired Tunnel Instructor, Sky/Tunnel Coach Former dealer for 2k Composites, Skysystems, Alti-2, Wings
  23. QuoteI don't know crap about tunnels so be gentle. How close to actual freefall is a tunnel? How long can you fly per session? well it's pretty close. body mechanics are the same. Some things you cant do like track. You can fly as long as your body can handle it. Most people do 2 minute rotations. Some do longer. I would suggest getting with a coach and share time with someone else. 15 minutes will ware you out your first time if your not super athletic. Does your practice in a tunnel help a ton in freefall? It helps big time with your flying. Ask anyone that has some tunnel time. For what I’ve seen the more you practice in the tunnel the better flyer you will be sooner. I know some will disagree with me on this one. What is the nearest tunnel to Richland Washington. The nearest tunnel to you is Paris. Other then that you would have to travel towards the east coast. 25. on average I do about a 145-150 in a sit. My speed will peak at around 165-170 at this point. in a stand my average speeds are around 155-160. and the last standing jump I made my mph peaked at 183. I use a neptune. -Bowen Retired Tunnel Instructor, Sky/Tunnel Coach Former dealer for 2k Composites, Skysystems, Alti-2, Wings
