  1. If you have some warmwear wear it. There will be a wind chiill factor to the temp. but on the bright side the wind will be strong and fast!!! I love it when its cold. -Bowen Retired Tunnel Instructor, Sky/Tunnel Coach Former dealer for 2k Composites, Skysystems, Alti-2, Wings
  2. The FF3 is capable of using different clamshells. now you don't have to replace the helmet to accommodate a new camcorder. -Bowen Retired Tunnel Instructor, Sky/Tunnel Coach Former dealer for 2k Composites, Skysystems, Alti-2, Wings
  3. The still can be moved left or right. The base plate is a clamp. I could and will move the still over about 1.5 inches. I just slapped it in there and took a pic. yeah its not a skinny mini set up but I do have a quick release on the still and a cutaway on the helmet. the clamshell is designed to deflect. in my opinion it is safer than a standard D-box or a L plate everyone has there own opinions and I do see the concerns. Thanks to everyone for their positive and negative comments. I wouldn't mined a FT but I mostly freefly so I wanted to set something up for multiple apps. -Bowen Retired Tunnel Instructor, Sky/Tunnel Coach Former dealer for 2k Composites, Skysystems, Alti-2, Wings
  4. Hey Dave, Mine is not hard to pull out. Do me a favor and try to screw the thumbscrew into the base bracket without the sight on. Thanks, Bowen Retired Tunnel Instructor, Sky/Tunnel Coach Former dealer for 2k Composites, Skysystems, Alti-2, Wings
  5. dont I know it. thats one fucked up pic of me. I am usually not that fug. It really wore me down watching Matt work so hard. I was pooped at the end of the day Retired Tunnel Instructor, Sky/Tunnel Coach Former dealer for 2k Composites, Skysystems, Alti-2, Wings
  6. First off, huge thanks to Matt Hover for assembling my helmet. I could never have done it with the patience and precision that you have put in to it. It is perfect in every way. So here is what I have: Helmet: 2K Composites. FF3 Camcorder: Sony HC-5 Camcorder lens: Raynox 0.50 Still camera: Canon EOS 40D Still camera lens: Canon 10-22 Still mount: Really Right Stuff Ring sight: Concentric Bracket: Schumacher removable Audible: (2) Neptune Cameye Digital tongue switch The only thing I am not thrilled about is the Schumacher bracket. The same hole is used for the nylon screw as well as the thumbscrew to hold the two plates together. It will only thread about 3/4th of a turn. I am afraid I will loose the ring sight in free fall. Maybe Terry will make a longer screw. Because of the Really Right Stuff L-plate on the 40D I can switch between landscape and portrait. All in all it’s 7.25 pounds. Thanks Matt…. -Bowen Retired Tunnel Instructor, Sky/Tunnel Coach Former dealer for 2k Composites, Skysystems, Alti-2, Wings

  12. My reasoning for drew is because of his growth at SVO. I have had the pleasure of seeing both Steve and Drew fly while I was in Perris last year. In the spring Drew became a part of our staff at SVO, while at SVO His flying and instructor abilities in the tunnel improved 10 fold. He was already an amazing flier when he got there, but because of all the free fly time he was given, he excelled and became one of our best. If you haven’t seen him fly lately you gotta, he is nasty period. Retired Tunnel Instructor, Sky/Tunnel Coach Former dealer for 2k Composites, Skysystems, Alti-2, Wings
  13. Go there and ask for Drew. He is probably one of (if not) their best flyers and coach. Thanks, Mike Retired Tunnel Instructor, Sky/Tunnel Coach Former dealer for 2k Composites, Skysystems, Alti-2, Wings

  21. Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone uses filters and or hoods on their still setups? I think I am ordering a Canon 10-22mm lens tomarow and I am also wanting to get a filter to protect it. B&H has one for like 35.00 bucks. It is a UV filter. link: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=cart&A=details&Q=&sku=213212&is=REG anyone using this or something simular? I am also considering a hood for ground shots but what about freefall. anyone ever use a hood in freefall? Thanks, M. 22. I am using the .5 lens on my HC-5. I have been researching prime vrs zoom but still dont know what i am talking about. I am not sure if I want a 10-22mm. I keep hearing from forums that I should go prime over zoom. I am pulling hair at this point. -Mike Retired Tunnel Instructor, Sky/Tunnel Coach Former dealer for 2k Composites, Skysystems, Alti-2, Wings
  23. Hey guys, Is it true that you can't zoom in at all with a royal lens? I have a .25 way cool lens and I can zoom in almost to half way before it gets blurry. If so then why is it possible with a way cool and not a royal. -Mike Retired Tunnel Instructor, Sky/Tunnel Coach Former dealer for 2k Composites, Skysystems, Alti-2, Wings
  24. I am going to sell my bite switch and buy one of the tongue switch from conceptus. they also make one for the 40D. now I just need to decide between the sigma 8mm / canon 15mm or the canon 10-22mm. I am shooting video with a raynox .5 HD wide angle lens. -Mike PS: Thanks to DSE for all your help!! you are the man!
