  1. open it up and take a picture and post it here. i can look and see if it has any connections i can tap into on the board. you may not be able to get it apart without breaking it. i'll do a search and see if anything comes up. someone has probably done it if it can be done.
  2. i wonder if you couldn't reprogram them to use another number and set up your own cloud for it to talk to. would be worth a try. do they have a jtag pinout?
  3. we can take that allegedly out of there now...
  4. i just tried to download the code and it wasn't able to, said it was on localhost. website must've done something to it.
  5. had a friend give me a canopy a couple of years ago, about a 250 or so with no tag or markings of any kind we could see. it is worn out so bad you can see through the black panels pretty easily, but it has a jump or two left in it i think. as soon as i get my rigger to make sure i'm right i want to jump it.
  6. doesn't about half the dropzones in canada use the uspa as a governance body? i know they have the cspa but thought i had heard many use the uspa. it was a while back, when i was a member of uspa. i maybe should renew my membership this year.
  7. it was a phone call and you don't record your calls. if you get creative, you can have a facebook message to show them. that would involve someone else though. hell, i'll send you an email from whatever country you need it from in whatever language you need. it may not be a good translation so you'll have to check for yourself. i can do czech, german, or english, but need to use a translator for anything else. edit: although if they check your social media and find this you may get in trouble.
  8. visiting at some friends i met when they came and stayed with me. returning the favor.
  9. ah, as i suspected. i missed it. thanx.
  10. it says 10 days to submit an appeal and nothing about how long it would take for the final outcome, unless i missed it somewhere in that document.
  11. hell, we'd make the perfect pair then. i have the attention span, and skills to manage the work, just not any of the technical knowledge.
  12. sounds like it may be time for the next innovation in skydiving container design. know any container manufacturers willing to change the industry?
  13. don't they use c-130s for mff training in the desert? or do they use civilian aircraft? i know an instructor who was there several years ago and i thought he mentioned using a c-130 but it's been years since i talked to him. i know that during airborne ops the c-17 can't slow down enough to let jumpers out unless it has less than half a tank of fuel, and when we jumped it was going at about 170 knts. that was static line and not mff though.
  14. one thing you want to keep in mind, some of these comments mention that skydiving has harder openings than base. you will be starting your base jumping career as a skydiver if you want to do it safely, or so i've heard since i don't base jump. just something to keep in mind.
  15. did you try using the email address on the website? if the website is still hosted the email may still be monitored. [email protected] use the view source option to read the notes he added for those who search for them.
  16. looks like some zero g flight time to me. why not for the price paid for the ride.
  17. nah, if you go slow you find them and they don't cut the skin. you can't do it off a spool, only on cable that's tied off. any kind of movement whatsoever and you'll bleed. if you hear good you can wear gloves and go faster but i don't hear good. i also carry band aids in the toolbox, glove compartment, and first aid kit.
  18. none that i have seen are. that's the reason i asked if it made contact with the live wires. if it were me, and i still questioned it, i would go run my hand down the wire without a glove very slowly. that would answer all the questions and find the small broken pieces of cable that are sticking up that tore the canopy, and maybe even a small piece of nylon left behind when it melted as it slid down.
  19. some of it looks like an electrical burn, but some is ripped. did the canopy touch the live wires at all? if not, may have been friction burn on part of it. hard to say from a picture though.
  20. not sure what caused it but you get a beer next time i see ya. i don't jump much over the winter but come spring if i'm still here you'll find me at the dz most weekends at wv skydivers. my thoughts are "how can you trust a tool that can't even count?"...
  21. it's a bs tool and i'll post the screencap of mine to prove it. first one that spots the reason why gets a beer on me next time i see them.
  22. it has also been suggested that i have been a "keyboard warrior", yet i sent an email to the safety contact on uspa website with a pretty detailed plan on endorsements, yet not only did i not get a reply to the email saying they got it, i guess it didn't really go any further than that. i'm curious now, did uspa not get my email or did they just ignore it? how do i find out @skypilotA1?
