  1. You can check all your equipment before you throw yourself from an airplane and guess what? You can still get clocked from a freeflyer that left after yiu but didn't give you space! Thats not doing everything right. Correct me if i am wrong but dont freefliers tend to exit first before belly fliers? Anyways.... when you are sorting out jump (exit) orders before boarding the plane is the time to note what everyone else is doing and make proper safe exit game plans..with a verbal confirmation to really try and ensure your own skydive isnt threatened. A simple .."mmm your are freeflying? Ok dude make sure you give me a good 8 seconds before you bail..agreed?"
  2. Not such a bad idea. Where do Brummies meet up for shits and giggles??
  3. Hehe I went strictly for jumping but you can hardly avoid being in Moscow!! St Petersburg is not that much distance anyway! (Well by US and Russian standards..being large countries). By UK standards...its still not that far. Jarno....only one day of jumping!? Thats officially what a call a catastrophe!! That helicopter...oh man oh man!! Even with the new prices the Russian DZs still got a claim for being rather the cheapest non special offer jump tickets around.
  4. I guess sometimes the most obvious answer elludes us. And then?
  5. You see now i cant say how much it costs from there. From San Fran you might even fly round the pacific way o Russia isnt? From London Heathrow i connected Aeroflot return for about £160 before tax. You have to do your mathematics i guess. How many of the cheap jumps there you can do before you break even..and then how many more will be profitable in the long run (inclusive of the whole travel and visa etc process). You dont really want to spend more money and get less jumps than you would normally do. When i went there (old prices) in July after paying for my visa and accommodation i calculated that i would break even at 20 jumps at UK prices. I did about 100 jumps for USD 500.
  6. ...and dont waste your limited jumps by doing aimless solo jumps. Use instructors as much as you can. Sometimes you progress more when someone watches you in the air than when you land and try and explain it (trying to cut out on instructors fees).
  7. I will testify to the Russian vote. I did jumps there from 13k for like $US10 including pack...out of an Mi8 chopper as well. Apparently its the standard DZ price there at the major Dzs...Stupino, Kolomna and (Borki perhaps.) I have never really figured out why it so cheap there. The accommodation at Stupino was costing me about USD2 a day..and great meals were USD4. Is that insane or what?
  8. So the conclusion is that it is not possible to do a search by real name? I have been failing so i wanted to see if it was just me or the thang just dont work.
  9. Go for it dude. I really envy you man..this skydiving is generally tough on the wallet... Your plan is the best way to learn. i reckon, (lots of jumps in one go) but i see you have less than 100 jumps...you certainly have the money to be a "load hog" but do you have the endurance? So far whats the most you have jumped in one day...? Just stay safe dude...dont put yourself under too much pressure to complete 100 jumps in 10 days if it means jumping for the sake of just getting another load...put in 10 jumps in a day and you could well spend the next 5 days recovering from the stress and fatigue:-) Jumping when tired and burntout (like driving) could lead to more tears than cheers. Be safe and good luck!
  10. Cool...seems that the afternoon session is starting to yield results..at least the dropzone has contacted me!!...and told me that the travel partner has changed...so i guess in Hollywood this is where they say "Take 2!"
  11. If you go onto the Aerograd web page they put forward Eyevista as the dudes who could assist with the support letters. Anyways i tried going through that channel and was shot down point blank: quote "We do not offer this service to Zimbabweans"..alas...but after i finish sulking this afternoon i will hit the trail again. There must be a way in..and the Aerograd dudes dont answer their emails...or yet after about a month and a half. It sounds like it was going to be good humour.
  12. ***i know the one in paris is very good but if you want basic RW training you can consider other, less powerful, tunnels that might be cheaper. Ok so what other tunnel options are available to British Skydivers...without going across to Orlando?
  13. Dude the USA is massive....and has many thousands of dropzones. Maybe you will get more advice if you say exectly where you are going...kinda gives peeps something to go on.
  14. Quotethanks, i really hope we'll be able to make it I swear...i think getting the visa is proving to be a tall order. its giving me like sleepless nights already. Im trying to go for a full month there....was wishing that wind tunnel would have been ready..but...hey...we can just do it the old fashioned way...IN THE AIR!
  15. what height were these okes jumping from?
  16. Wind tunnel has a web page, www.windtunnel.ru, but it is in Russian (guess why ) Damn so dont say i didnt try.....but my Russian failed me completely there! So why dont you just tell us in about 5 lines in brief what the web page says? (key points eg..availabilty...courses...instructors...costs...bookings...possibility of seeing naked women etc? Thanks buddy!! I love dorps!!!! (beer)
  17. Lets have some numbers... For me....4 (and thats happened once and i felt so damn tired afterwards)...
  18. I must say i dont know it. Is it older than Bonanza?
  19. what about if i drive a train? surely i get more hot chicks in my back seats than a B(e) M(y) W(ife) dude gets? Better still...what about BMX bandits? I guess good old fashioned grafters will never get horns.
  20. i think i know it. Its the fact that 75% of your body is made up of water and therefore if you want to swim...only 25% of your body has to swim...the rest is just mixing with itself. You dig it?
  21. Hey you just gotta love that..lol Just tell me more about that King James theory...i might just like to try it out in the bar and see if anyone accepts it...or if i get Brainy Smurfed! I love dorps!!!!! (beer)
  22. Well the way i sees it..Atheist vrs Christianity (All religions included) is a draw. They could be the same thing written differently. The religion writers and whatnots were limited in general knowledge which we have a strong edge over. I reckon that religion can be scientifically explained. For instance what we term as a UFO now would have been termed as what had Adam and Eve seen one? God made the world in 7 days? Now if you believe that at face value you are legendary (i think they call it "faith"). What if the soul who wrote that part of the bible...in his simple understanding...meant a day as a period of time other than 24 hours...ie a million years? Ok so we get aliens and stuff these days? You could say most of these biblical miracle workers were just aliens from outer space hence nothing they did made sense to the dudes on earth..who unlike us...knew even less about the world. Elijah taken away by a chariot of fire...how about him being taken in some sort of space craft? (chariot was the only transport means known to man then..hence thats the only way it could be explained). You could say also say that Jesus was another alien and his birthday star was the mothership..who knows. God then...if any accountant reads this..could be what i would call a "suspense" account. Thats where we could attribute all that we dont know.... That we are all being controlled by aliens! Im scared!
  23. Now thats what i am talking about man!! Im taking the whole of July in russia...so you reckon the wind tunnel and the hot showers will be ready then? Oh and might sound like a silly question but what sort of temperatures am i expecting to play with at that time? Does the wind tunnel have a web page? I love dorps!!!!!! (beer)
