Ok, as most of you know, I haven't made my first jump- but I am sure as shit annoying my wife, because that's all I talk about. Anyway, we had a conversation today, in which she made a comment that "If you had asked me to go 5 years ago, I would have, but now that we have him (referancing my 20 month old son), I wouldn't do it." She feels that it's way too big a risk to take. I understand the risk- I understand that I can do everything right, and still die. I love my son with all my heart, and it would be horrible for him to grow up without me- but I feel that if I don't pursue my dream of skydiving, that I will regret it later in life. I know in a sense, that I am being selfish- it's not that I have to jump out of an airplane. But it's a dream I have had for a very long time. Have any of you dealt with the same issues, and how do your S/O's feel about your skydiving? Anyone with kids, I would really like to hear your opinions on this. Quite a few people here know my story (cant jump yet cause of the weight issue) but I'm really tired of looking next to my name (in the forums) and seeing the "Enter Jump #, License #" etc... How do I just clear all that and leave it blank? I've seen alot of people that have nothing written in next to thir names- but everytime I change my profile (just put in 0) it still says I have to enter my # 's. I'm with you in this. They are both annoying as shit. Not to mention the fact that to bring an animal into a restaraunt is a health code violation. I work at Costco- and people always try to sneak those rat dogs in the building. I just don't get why they feel the need to bring their dog everywhere. When I tell people that they can't bring thir dogs in- I always get the "Well what am I supposed to do with him?" How about leave the little piece of shit at HOME where it belongs!!!! About 5 years ago, I was a volunteer firmen. We had a house fire (fully involved) at about 4am- it was 92 degrees- AT 4AM!!!!!!!!! I'll tell you what- I sweat off about 10 pounds that morning. Right now I only have a 33-gal Hex tank with 5 Fancy (or whatever they are called ) Goldfish. You know the ones with all the wierd colors, and big fan tails....anyway, I just set it up for my 19 month old son, because he likes "feesh" as he calls them. I have a 55 gal that I want to set up, but it's got crazy dead fish vibes in it. It was definitley the "Tank of Death"- didn't matter what I had in it- completley docile fish would up and eat other fish, aggressive fish got eaten by other fish- it was a big mess. I always kept complete records on what fish I had in the tank. When I wanted to buy another fish, I brought the list with me to the store. I would ask what fish were good/bad to go with what I had in the tank. If the employee told me "This fish would be great in your tank. No one will eat it, and it wont eat your other fish"- Armageddon would break out in my tank. If they told me "Dont buy that fish- it will kill your fish, or your fish will kill it"- the tank was a vision of peace. SO if and when I set it up, I think Im just going to put one kind of fish in there. It will make it easier for me. Just got this done today. I figured since my son was 19 months old, it was about time I got his name on me. He was born October 29- making him a Scorpio. Thanks- he's a High School English teacher. He had interviews with 4 different schools, 2 wanted to hire him. He picked the high school that we both graduated from. So it's cool- he gets to teach with the teachers that mentored him. It was worth it- it just sucks that I have to lose 2 extra pounds now.
