  5. thanks! anyone who knows them knows how hard it is to get two flyball dogs to sit still for a minute. I don't knwo how that one dog got 600+ votes, but I think we can top it!
  6. http://www.allpetsradio.com/friend/photocontest.php?gallery=3 Click on the above and vote for Galen and my dogs. They are the two hounds in front of the Christmas tree at the bottom of the page. If they win we get a free drinking fountain for them. You can vote 5 times! Thanks a million!!
  7. Shame it's not the 2nd weekend! My bachelorette party is the second weekend of March in Baltimore!!!
  8. If you are looking to train a service dog, one of those rescued dogs may not be the right dog. I'm a total advocate for shelter animals- but the paper says off the bat that they are timid. That's not something that is easily overcome, and often with an animal for life. There's a ton of training involved for a well-qualified dog to become a service dog- and a special needs puppy may never live up to those standards. One of our dogs was a special needs dog- was abandoned on the road and was afraid of people. Two years later we can have company in our house and not worry about her getting freaked out. After two years she just has the confidence enough to go to obedience school with out us being scared for her. Shelter dogs are great, but very well could not live up to what you want them to do. You may be better going to a well known breeder, etc.
  9. I fenced Sabre in college. It was the first year that women's sabre was allowed in NCAA competition! They didn't think that women could handle sabre since it was faster paced and whole body as target. I had a blast and got some cool bruises. It is all electronic. At first it feels really funny being clipped to a retractable rope, but you get used to it. I highly recommend doing wall sits and squats as fencing takes a huge wear on your leg muscles since you spend most of the time in a lunge position.
  10. Happy birthday mike! I had a rum drink for you this evening!

  13. No jumping, but Gizmo takes her snoot and pushes the keyboard tray in under the desk when she feels I've been on long enough.
  14. Volunteering at the humane society we hear the same stuff. "Oh, I got her as a cute little lab puppy, but now she is too big so I'm going ot leave her here. Do you have any puppies? I'd like one." **Smack** "Do you have any dogs that are under 5 pounds that dont' shed or bark and won't mess up my house?" **Smack** and the number 1 quote "Oh my god! you guys keep pit bulls here?? They are nasty dogs." **Smack smack smack**
  15. Oh dear God, the memories I have of Puck Fair. Or the memories I'm reminded of. I need to go back into hiding. Had some good times there. Pauli is a crazy guy.
  16. Just one. We're engaged, so I suppose he's a perpetual talker.
  17. The whole no $$ due to wedding planning and our ultimate costa rica honeymoon. I will get out there one day, if for nothing else a tour of the wineries!! Hopefully we'll see you at the wedding in May. I think Alex is planning on coming. It could be like the infamous night at the village idiot again! well, with a few adjustments, that is.

  21. PJ awwas, without a doubt, one of the most sincere people ever. He had a great wit, but while being able to joke about anything and see humor in it he'd be the first to be honest about safety issues. We had some great times when I was at Cross Keys. I'll always remember wondering how he managed with bare feet all the time.
  22. of course I got this today, a day late. MONKEY!
  23. Mike, Mike, Mike.... get better soon...
