  1. ATTN WORLD.... no criminals in LONDON.... Manchester.....Liverpool... Glasgow.... etc... lots of victims.. go get them victims... they is unarmed and unafraid of you... Criminals here, and there are just as nasty and mean as everywhere else in the world. I travel extensively in the US and I do not fear the gun toting public while I'm there. It's mostly a peaceful place with nice people. All I'm saying is that you pay a price for having so many guns in so many hands. Like the guy in the theater who gets mad because someone is on their cell phone. Words get said, pushing starts, and maybe there is an assault. But if the angry man happens to be packing heat, boom, a murder charge in the heat of the moment for no good reason. If there are more guns more people will use them. If there are less guns, less people will use them. Most of the western world has decided on giving up the pure pleasure of owning and shooting pistols because they don't want to pay the price. America has largely made the opposite decision. I respect that, but I don't respect those who refuse to acknowledge the cost of an armed society. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  2. I know. Your f...ing guns are leaking across the border into the hands of our gangs. They used to mostly knife fight, but access to guns is now easier. Vancouver is practically on the border, and Toronto is only an hour and a half from Buffalo. But despite that, a quick check will show you the the rate of death from guns is 5 times higher in the US than in Canada. The fact that it's as high as it is here is one of the prices we pay for living so close to you. But I still love the USA and would not ask for a different neighbour. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_firearm-related_death_rate Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. 3. Sigh..... America..... I love you all. But from outside, here's my take on this. You live with your 2nd amendment and the majority of you love your gun rights. I know, it isn't everyone, but most of you insist that your guns "protect" you. Now your police are faced with a citizenry that walks and drives the streets armed. They all want to go home at the end of their shifts and see their families, like everyone else. They pretty much need to assume that everyone they face is armed. Is it any wonder they sometimes get trigger happy? It's just one of the many ways you pay the price for insisting on the right to bear arms. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  4. Not sure exactly what you're trying to say here. Nevermind, I Googled it. From urban dictionary: Fayetteville, NC a military city dependent on Fort Bragg and Pope Airforce base. Fayettenam, your one stop for pawn shops, strip clubs and cheap motels. There's no place like home. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  5. That's one of the lessons here. But since the City of Gardena paid $4.7 million to settle the lawsuit there may be more than just one lesson to be learned. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  6. The winners always write the history. In this case it's taking 150 years and it's a re-write. But either way the defenders of the old ways have lost and are continuing to lose. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  7. So... you don't really know why these graves are in such a state of disrepair. But you have filled in the blank spaces of you knowledge with your beliefs about not only the identities of those responsible, but their motivations as well? You sound a lot like an angry person lashing out. To use your words. Most likely the perps were stupid bored kids with nothing to do, like graveyard vandals usually are. Around here stupid white kids do this sort of thing occasionally. If it happens to be a Jewish cemetery it's often decried as anti-semitism. But when they are caught it always turns out to be ordinary losers without any real reasons at all. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  8. Is it? Of course it is. "Nothing" would probably result in another war that only the USA is really in a position to fight. And war would still not solve the issue because although many in the US are willing to start wars in the middle east, few are willing to see them through. And for good reason. So yes, an imperfect deal (that is imperfect for both sides) is much better than no deal. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  9. They haven't done a very good job of covering up in the past. With the technology available to the inspectors, and the NSA watching I doubt they can hide very much. This is something Kerry and the the USA can't talk about, but it's why they have confidence in the monitoring. Bringing Persia back into the world community is important to containing the Sunni Arab threat posed by ISIS types. It could be the beginning of the unraveling of the damage done fifty years ago when the CIA and US policy supported the Shah over those who wanted to modernize. There is potential danger here, but there is also tremendous opportunity. The re-balancing of power in this region is going to happen. The best the western world can hope for is to steer it. We can't control it any longer. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  10. If the airport is not sustainable, and the developer would like something else there, then simple. The developer should make a real cash offer for the property. All I see in this story is typical big talk about a potential project. We've all seen this sort of thing in our own home towns. Money talks, bullshit walks. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  11. Simple. A symbol by definition is a representation of a thing that people recognize. In this case an idea. The stars and bars became a symbol of resistance to integration because people recognize it as such. Not because of anything Lee did. The fleur de lis is not a symbol of slavery because no one is using it as one. It could become one in the future, maybe you are trying to make it so. But you know this already. Times change, sometimes for the better. Move on. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  12. There are First Nations people who would dispute your use of the word "originally". Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  13. I get a headache trying to think of all the possibilities here. But my opinion is simple. Less complex is better than more complex. If there is a cutter effectiveness question the answer is a better cutter, not another cutter. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  14. Here is a good one from online at the Consew site. That Consew is a straight copy of a Singer 212. Any information you can fine for the Singer will apply. There are sub models with different feed systems and options, but the hooks and bobbin cases are all pretty much the same. Do you have the oil reservoirs in the hook saddles filled? http://www.consew.com/Files/112347/InstructionManuals/332r.pdf Send me a PM with your address and I'll fill your inbox with manuals. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  15. You should take Lee's advice about oiling the hook races. Self oiling systems are not perfect. Do you have the manual for the machine? If not, what is the exact model number? I'll find you one. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  16. Yup, I love America, and especially the south. I had real pit BBQ ribs in a grubby old truckstop in SE Missouri just today. Worth every penny. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  17. A good old Canadian song. It doesn't glorify the south at all. It tells part of the story of the south's complete humiliating defeat. The South lost, remember? Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  18. Just look at where the thread comes out of the bobbin case. You will see that it has to pass under a thin piece of steel that is screwed to the bobbin case. That thin piece is a spring, and there are two small screws in it. The one at the end just holds it in place, the one closer to the middle adjusts the tension on the spring. That is your thread tension screw. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  19. I have a buddy who 15 years ago figured out that it must be the video camera that was causing all the problems. Because every time he saw pictures of an incident there was a camera involved. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  20. Yes, the multitask argument is real. No one can truly multitask. Either the camera, or the skydive tasks have to be largely second nature for both to be done well. This means low experience jumpers will have to choose where to put their attention. Which task will suffer? Hopefully it will be the camera work. It almost always is, we've all seen the boring pointless video shot by newbies. TK is right. We will all need to make adjustments in how we teach and coach and make some allowances for new jumpers to figure out how best to cope with their mini cameras. It won't be a complete retreat from the current rules, but there will be change. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  21. Not properly, unless it's a low bulk or older F-111 one. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  22. Times change. We even let students jump ram air canopies now. Even though everyone knows they are far more dangerous than rounds, and that you should have 200 jumps first. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  23. Some grips are filled thick soft material that can bunch up, this is probably what you have. Others are filled with closed cell foam that stays firm. It is likely that the grips on your suit will still function just fine as grips. I've never heard of a suit needing "reinflation". Just jump it, it will be fine. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  24. Who would you have interpret it? The Constitution itself created the Supreme Court and gave it this job. It also regulates the process of amending itself. If you respect the Constitution you must respect the power of this co-equal branch of government. Sheesh, I'm Canadian and even I know that. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  25. Well, that would be completely unexpected. Not that I would turn it down but I don't see how I could reasonably ask for that. What is the relationship between para-concepts and Argus? To my knowledge, para-concepts just does the 4-year checks and has no relationship with Argus because Aviacom is completely out of business. I did not say they would replace it for free. They may have access to other units available to help you out, for a reasonable price. I would expect you to lose money on this. As you said, you understand the issues. I assume you chose to keep the orphaned product for cost saving reasons. Sometimes that won't work out as well as you hoped. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
