This is a good test on a mercruiser mpi motor. If the tach doesn't move when you crank the starter you probably have a crank position sensor circuit problem. I imagine it's the same on most modern efi motors.

Is there a schrader valve to check fuel pressure? Fuel pressure gauges are cheap at autozone. If you have a timing light you can check for spark by hooking it to any sparkplug wire and watching for it to flash. If you try the starting fluid thing be very careful, some cars have plastic intake parts that can be damaged if it ignites in the intake.

Have you changed the timing belt on schedule? Lets hope it's not that. James

Been there done that, "rover" looked so much better after the IV fluids/whatever else was in there that we decided to wait and see. Passed the rubber "super ball" the next day on his own, "rover" happy and healthy, bank account only minorly drained and kid still has dog, although no longer allowed "super balls". Everyone pretty much happy with outcome, although I doubt we'd have made the same call if it was Grandma instead of Bo.

I also would not go there. I'm going to suggest a short barreled pump gun of some sort along with some training to an inexperienced firearm purchaser for home defense. This assumes only one weapon in the home and that the need is only for home defense. I'm all for the correct tool for the job and am not suggesting that this is the tool for every situation. As an all around "one gun" suggestion for home defense it's hard to beat a shotgun.

Just a thought, what if Biden assumed the lady asking the question he responded to was as inexperienced with firearms as his wife? Would the suggestion of an easy to operate two shot weapon that does not require precise aiming possibly be a good idea? He did not say that is the weapon that he would grab in that scenario. A very uncomplicated shotgun with a second round available might be just the thing for someone with little to no experience. The part I take issue with is the two warning shots.
