  1. I don't get paid to teach a FJC. I do not get paid to JM or Coach, i get the jump for free. I do get paid for tandems ($25 normally). I am not in it for the money. Maybe once Iretire I will try to get a DZ job where I can make a few bucks to keep up in the sport. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  2. For those interested, Omniskore.com has some streaming video of the 4 and 8-way rounds 916 way may have afew rounds later too), you can really see the speeed, power and finese that all the compitors have. I am biased and give congrats to the Knights for thier 2 Silvers thus far! Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  3. Awesome Demo! Nice pics and Vids. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

  5. 1405 - a tesnion knot I couldn't claer and couldn't land with. 1440 - hourse shoe with a smoke bracket. Both my fualt bad packing and bad body position, in that order. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  6. I personnally preferthe Michigan suits. They start at around 185 (basic RW) and go up with options. IF 250 isn't to much get the Michigan Comp suit. It is ultra strong and the suit I put on my new jumpers I run an 8 man demo team that trains them from 0 to 800 jumps in lessthan 24 months) and it lasts 2 years and 800+ jumps before needing minor repairs. I have nylon Comp suit from '98 that is in great shape and I still use on the fast falling RW loads. I have purchased 6 michigan suits and like them all. 7. I made a lot of jumps in Monroe and Thomaston. But now choose Monroe as the DZ of my choice for GA. (But I will admit I haven't been in a while, work you know) Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  8. I will tell ya in 24 months whe nI hit the BIG 20 and do the bigger "R"! Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  9. No, we use a standard open leg suit for our students. For some stueents we may do a bunch of jumps working on getting those legs out for a back slider, but we usually have video on all our students so it is some thing they can see in the de-brief. We do have them do several jumps with a bootie suit once through the "A" license proficiency to introduce the mto the Suit and the benifits of the mechanical assistance of Booties. 10. Art, You made the hard right instead of the easy wrong. I am sure all the rest of us who do demo's and the general skydiving community appreaciate your decision, I know I do. Matt SE 0299 An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  11. I think Diablopilot hit it with option two. Many jumpers drag the D-bag inadvertantly when coming back from the landing ao, also when laying out the rig on a hard packing surface. Just my opinion.
  12. The Rockingham jump was not a DOD group. Currently according to Sue at the National HQ of the FAA the Golden Knights, Leap Frogs and the US Air force are the only DOD teams. Matt SE 0299 An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

  14. Hey All, Well there is along and grand history of the Ft. Campbell Sport Parachuute Activity. Unfortunatly the current world situation isn't going to allow the Ft. Campbell command to support it like they have in the past and would want for its future. There are a few USPA GM DZ's not to far away, Tullahoma is actually near 2 hours away but a popular place to go. The DZ in Paris is temporarily closed. Maybe we can get it up and running again in the near future wit ha concerted effort and with some modernization. Matt edited to support CDRINF and FTCKY SPA. 15. It is a provisions issued by the FAA when the proper legal paper work has been done and obtained. The provision goes so far as to define a "hook" turn. It discusses axis, pitch, roll and altitude that that type of flying will not be conducted under. Some of our newer canopies out here can be started into a "hook" turn above the minimum leval and still not recover in time if mis-judged. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. 18. Partially Correct, only for a limited time can the Pres send troops into action, it takes a vote of congress to send the troops to a fight of duration. And the vote wedo have, even with Flip Flop The Back Stabber. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  19. But remember, the deficiet cycle is a few years behind. The current Pres is still working out from the clinton era, just like clinton had to work out from the Bush era, and Bush had to work out from the Reagan era. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  20. The tunnel deffinetly needs to be up and running by new years. I have been asked to move our teams annual winter training to AZ and it would be a clincher if the tunnel was open for business! (but of course we are busy during the boogie!, damn Army) Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  21. By your profile (wich is very thin) You have been directly affected like many US. Citizens have been affected. How much of the DZ's clientel is military? Doesn't the high deployment rate affect the DZ business? Along with all the local business? I am not hiding under my bed, and having been over seas for a large part of the last 3 years, I am sad to see how many have forgotten what happened but most importantly WHY. It is a fight, no avoiding it. It has been in our face for far longer than the tragic events of September 11, 2001. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  22. At 220 jumps even if your a conservative and mature pilot it is a high perfoamnce canopy. I am looking to scrape together the cash to keep the demo. I like it!
  23. GLad to hear you all didn't suffer too much. I wont bother you about a purchase here. I will bother you all at the office once you get phone service though! Matt SE0299 An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  24. Fall and winter are pretty good times to go shopping. Some times you can find a complete rig for well below normal price. Check into Demo items that the various makers may be selling off, after this season to, make space for the next years batch. Yes, it is used, but it is factory maintained and usually way cheap! Just a thought. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  25. Hey all! I just got a Rage 130 from Flight Concepts as a Demo. This is a truly awesome Canopy! I normally Jump a Sabre 135 or Stiletto 135. I would compare the rage to a Stiletto with a bit more horsepower. It may be like a Katana but I haven't jumped one to know. I have made several jumps on it and love its opennings and flight. Just thought any one looking, to down size into a high performance canopy or change high perfomance canopies, would want to know about this awesome ride! Call Red at Flight Concepts,he has a few Stock models and Demo's around to test and sell. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
