  1. here also a report from Olek from basejumper.com: http://www.basejumper.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=2963583%3B#2963583 Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  2. Here a short report of my first flights with the new V5 from Phoenix Fly. About 98% or my Wingsuit jumps are BASE Jumps, but maybe this info is also usefull to people who only intend to skydive the suit. I got the chance to do my first jumps on my new V5 from Phoenix Fly this weekend at a terminal wall in Italy, Brento. I did between 150 and 200 jumps on my V4 so I can only compare it with that suit. Some of the most notable differences to the V4 are the much faster inflation. This is maybe not so important for Skydiving but also the armwings and the legwing are thicker and you feel the difference to the V4 in how fast they inflate and how rigid the wing feels. There is no booty sticking out, the whole bottom surface is very flat. On my first 2 jumps I tried to work to much in the suit and I was slipping around a bit. On my third jump I relaxed and just tried to adapt to the shape of the suit and it was much better. On my fourth jump I also tried to fly steeper and with more speed the suit is very stable. The glide was better after this 4 jumps than on my V4 and the speed was also good. I have to check my fly site to compare speed on my V4 and my V5. I am very happy with this suit, I think it is another step up in performance compared to the V4. It is a suit for advanced pilots, not a suit for beginners or jumpers who want to take a shortcut and not do the necessary preparation. It will take me some more jumps to have the full bucket but I'm already happy now. Nice new toy to start the 2013 season
  3. You should ask a moderater how to do clickies Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  4. OK, I had a lot of time to read this topic. I have also a Doctor in Physics so I think I can help you understand how this is been done. The trick is to eat a lot of onions the day before you jump. Then during the flight you need to dive really hard. During the flaring you also need to turn on your back and fart as hard as you can. This will give you the nescessary wind and you will gain another 2 seconds of climbing time. I hope I could contribute to this intersting discussion. 5. hahaha, Markus, you must have a lot of time to read all this
  6. I have these problems also with mountain lion. Just updating won't help much. I now convert all my mts files with a program called pavtube to files (in my case to apple prores 422) I can work directly on FCP or iMovie Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  7. how do you define performance? What is it that you want for your wingsuit? Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  8. It is a big difference between being busy all the time or being on holiday and on base trips all the time... Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  9. After installing mountain lion on my mac, I can't log and transfer avchd files from sony (nex5) to fcp anymore. my mac does not recoginze these files anymore. In the finder mac only recoginzes the folder with the avchd files as a package and not as a folder. has anybody faced the same problem? is there a workaround? thanks, michi Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  10. my snag free setup, I have many jumps with this setup and had never a problem with bad recording... Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch

  12. I'm sure the complain is not one of his main concerns :-) He did a lot of test flights with his wingsuits during the last couple of weeks and he was jumping with 2 flysights. During his practice jumps he aimed at a target and tried to flare the suit as much as possible, that's how he got the speed data. I'm pretty sure it is not an 1.st of April joke and not a hoax. I think it is still a very dangerous project and I wish him al the best for it. And yes, this is a wingsuit landing, no question about that. And I like this kind of project much more than the one that has been talked about for years and did not happen yet. We heard about this about 2 month ago and it is about to happen. 14. To my knowledge there's been no other BASE injuries on TM I think you are a bit wrong on that one... TM has got many, many injuries, but jumped on a low profile so the media was not so interested. Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch

  18. here is the vid of my yesterdays 2 jumps. first jump was in bright daylight, second jump was already in dawn... but now as you mentioned it, it really looks a bit yellowish... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6Dl9ihMQYY Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  19. yes, but only real live base jumping (WS jump) with it. I tried the new video resulution setting 960 - 48 (1280 x 960). I was very happy with this setting... Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  20. If the time difference between the pictures is constant, it does not look like a pc hesitiation but as if he lost a lot of time finding the pc or just flying with the hand on the pc and not pulling... But this is just a guess. Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  21. You are really funny. I got a Phantom2. One friend of mine also can fit in. Her exit weight is ~75kg, mine is 110 Kg. What can be wing load in case of a wing suit? She flies like a leaf and I cruse like a missile. Well, imagine a flock of Blades with slim to normal guys. I can try to fly my Phantom2, she goes with a Stealth (I got a Stealth also). Who can make the formation and fly with it if they don't "fly the American" way? I can catch them for sure and sink below due to the slow forward speed, she can't catch and floating up and behind. OK, this might sound a bit arrogant, but I already regret having given the first comment on your post because now I need to answer another of your posts. To your phantom comparison: If she flies like a leave and you like a missile and therefore you can not flock together, you both need some practice in WS flying, it has nothing (or very little) to do with the wing load. Check out the results of base races. Feather weights like Ludo are always in the first places. The winner of the Norwegian Base race was Frode, he has about the same hight as Ludo and weights probably 1.5 times as much. To your Phantom vs. Stealth comparison, these are different suits as you know... Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  22. I don't get it? What do you mean with WL for WS? To you want to see different sizes of Wingsuits for the same hight of the person? Like a V4 with more surface for a fat pilot who is 1.85cm than a slim pilot who is 1.85? Or should a very slim pilot (for example Ludo) not fly a V4 and stay with a smaler suit like a phantom? Do you relly think the WL of wingsuit matters? The only thing that should keep someone from jumping a big wingsuit in my opinion is his or her skills, for sure not the wl. but maybe I'm wrong... 23. Because 90% of my Wingsuit flights are in Base I always pull in full flight, also when I'm skydiving. I see no reason why not to pull in full flight. My skydiving openings are much softer than my base openings so no problem from that point of view. Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
