What are your thoughts on Pilatus Porter aircraft?
Dougiefresh replied to McDirt's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Many? I thought there were only 2 in operation in the U.S. Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams -
It's bloody seabird bloody flavor! Albatross! Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams

Pussy. So what did you do about the kid? Just slink away with your tail between your legs? Can't say I blame you, he was probably taller than you... Yeah, AFP is the way to go. You'll be learning from the best. I'll be at SDC almost every weekend. I'll ask around about you. See you soon! Where are you going to do AFF? Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams

Both Chicagoland and SDC are great dropzones, and you'll get a good education at either. You may also want to check out the East Troy Parachute Club near Milwaukee. They also have a small dz vibe, and fly a PAC (a kick-ass little turbine). Welcome to the skies! I have proof that Bill does not know everything, but I can't share it in a public forum because he might hurt me. Then PM it to me! All evidence thus far shows Bill knows everything. Short of photographic or documented evidence, I'm going with my theory. I think this post proves, once and for all, that Billvon knows everything about everything. The guy can talk about nuclear reactor design, national energy policy, sexual restraint devices, and of course skydiving at a high level. Disagree with him, and he will simply slice your argument to tatters, all in a calm, reasoned, and self-assured tone. When I grow up, I want to be Billvon. There's this little thing called the Hippocratic Oath. Kind of an important thing to doctors, I imagine. Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams

Awesome. I like the cutaway pillow, it contrasts nicely with the red and gray. Make me one. Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams

Big ol' blimp-type thing with 174mph airspeed, can take people across the country in 18 hours. Flies at 8000 ft. Would make an interesting jumpship, I think. http://www.cnn.com/2006/TECH/02/16/aeroscraft/index.html Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams

East Troy (near Milwaukee) is also a good dz, and about the same drive time from Chicago. They have a shiny new PAC, too! Definitely worth a jump, it's a great little plane. www.skydivemilwaukee.com That being said, SDC is home. There's just no place like it. Isn't this where the world famous Sunshine did her first jump? She still jumps there, too -- her name is on the website as a coach and rigger. Send a PM to Sunshine and ask her about it. I think Stewie jumps there on occassion as well. Or you could just come up to Skydive Chicago with all the cool kids...
