  1. You mean this old Wonderhog? Hi Sparky, Those were the daze, 'Don't remember the exact dive but it had to be the late 70's. Got my first frap hat right after the 64-Way. Sure were some fun times. SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  2. It's 19:32 on the Friday before Labor Day. Another year has shot by and the "Stumbles" comes back to haunt what's left of my ruined mind. Any of you other old farts still have enough braincells intact to remember and post a "memory" of the "Stumbles".... SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  3. h-d ??, Ya' got 500 jumps?? Ya' can't close a D-Bag . But after 45+ years around this sport I've seen people survive who can't figgure out how to larkshead the loop on the end of their pilot chute bridle to the ring on the top of their canopy. So I guess yer nothin' new. SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  4. Hi h-d, with 500 jumps, if you can't figure out how to close a Mirage then I'd say it's time for you to get your bowling ball lecture!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  5. Hi skindog, This is really funny!! 'Not the first time this has been addressed in our sport but WTF. Funny how whuffs are. Had a couple of whuffs I worked with that came out and got into the student S/L program. At work one day they mentioned how they would never do "Relative work' because they would have to touch another "Guy" in freefall Funny how that goes for homophobes!! Neither got to freefall. If you have to ask the question, maybe you have to reassess your sexual orientation?? Meanwhile back in freefall, God knows who is on the other side of those grippers?? 6. Hi 377, Well the issue is not totally dead yet. It only made it to the 9th Circus....so far. Still has to get thru the SCOTUS, then it's a done deal. Go to Chuck and Mary Shantags' website the POWnetwork and check out the wannabys and imposters. One guy tried to sue them fror taking him down but funny how karma goes. He was at his local VFW drinkin beer and tellin his sphiel then bingo....collapsed and died of a heart attack at the bar..... Took a while for someone to come over and kick his dead ass to see if he was still breathin'. Then someone said, nevermind 911 just call the meatwagon. Just remember the light blue ribbon with the white stars on it is "NOT" the geedunk ribbon I don't care who told you. Be advised you can and will get your ass righteously kicked by serious military types if you get found out!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  7. Hi Yo', "WOW!" What a great bunch of guys!! 'Guess they really are "Out to kill us!" Hmmm... what do you do in the mean time till they come running swinging their semitar aimed at your neck?? What do you think they have in mind to get rid of us, Nazi style death camps?? Never mind their "Shriah law" when the SHTF they will have to deal with the "Law of the Jungle." Never mind Gold, invest in lead, copper and brass. Meanwhile back at the ranch,.............."America is at that Awkward Stage. It's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards." -opening lines from "101 things To Do Till the Revolution" by Claire Wolfe- ...as you hear his footsteps walking away, you hear him whistle the tune..."As Johnny comes marching home again....Harooo....Harooo..." 10. Hi Iggy, 'Don't know which Hooters you go to to get lousy wings, but the Hooters here in Fayetteville, NC has great wings!!!!!!!! "AND" great Hooters Ladies!! 'Like my wings plain breaded extra crispy with 3-mile sauce and blue cheese dressing on the side!! The Hooters Ladies..., 'like em just the way they are!! As for the lady with the sign, people like her are a dime a dozen!! Tried to get a friend of mine over to Hooters for my birthday bash and "He said his wife doesn't like Hooters and he can't go!!" WTF????

Hi Jerry, Funny how that goes. 'Know the 3 letter Riggers' seal has a lot of combos and then some years ago they started making letter-letter-number combos also. I posted some forum about the codes 3 of my early Skydiving buds got when they got their senior ticket. Ben Seal, Numan Gill and Charlie LeBlanc got their tickets from some Designee at the NAVSTA in New Iberia La. when it was still there, about 1962 I think. Ben got "FUJ" Numan got "FUL" and Charlie got the one in the middle, "F-U-K"!!!!! Charlie still has it I'm sure as I would have heard over the years if the FAA freaaked over it. 12. Hey Mut, Where do ya' think the trend ta' jump in sandals came from?? SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  13. Agreed. I think Iran is going to really bad places. Its very sad to see the govermnt become more and more extreem. I know the poeple the majority don't agree with the goverments viwes they are very much like prisinors in there own land. Unarmed citizens but thats another thread. Hi Dari, You say,"Unarmed Citizens..." Well bud 'ya got that a bit cornfused! There are no "Unarmed Citizens!" "An Armed Man is a 'Citizen'" "An Un-armed man is a 'S-U-B-J-E-C-T!'"....Got that?? 14. Hi Howard, I wonder if muzzies are forbidden by their beliefs to jump Piglets as they have to do with "Pork!!?" Never bought into the Piglet thing myself. Even though they packed up small, I couldn't get into paying over $300 for a canopy that came down faster than my $10 dollar 28' C-9 7-TU!!! Remember walking back from the target at Old Elsinore and Bob Lennon was standing there bent over with his hands on his knees and trying to get his breath back, and his Piglet was colapsed on the ground next to him. I said,"hey Bob, if ya' get pounded so bad by that thing why do ya' still jump it??" Said Bob," Because they pack so small." SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  15. Hi Jerry, Mods were great!! Also remember the "4-line release" There were several. My favorite was the "Waters 4-line release" those coolie red doubled 550# lanyards!! Last jump I made with that set up was 09SEP79!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  16. Hi 3-D, Ya' shoulda' been under a 28' C-9 "Cheapo" with a 7-elipitical T-U mod cut in it!! PLF's aren't just for rough landings under one of those, they're for "ALL" landings, bar none!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

    Frapp Hats

Hi GiGi, 'Ya forgot the 70's too, but never could get into the "Fish Bowl" trip. Back in the day, Skydiving was a rough and tumble sport and Serious "Crash" helmets were the rule; Motorcycle, Football, Pilot/Aviators helmets. Oh Yes, Hocky hats came into play in the 70's too. Open head high back when and have an "L-Bar" connector link crack you up side the metalflake paint job on your Bell 500TX and you'll know what I mean!! Time wore on and L-Bars gave way to Rapide's and then to soft links. PLF's gave way to turf surfing and The Frappe Hat came of age. Got a Frappe Hat in the early 80's and it finally fell apart a couple of years ago so I got another one, this one has a ditter pocket in it!! Also like the WWII leather Aviators helmet and the canvas model too!! Old Steve Fielding was one of the first "Fish Bowl Freaks" that I remember at old Elsinore. This was back in the 70's!! He had one of those big ass, Commando Cody Motorcycle full face helmets!! Story goes that on the way to alt. in the DC-3, somebody snuck Steves' hat away and threw it out over the mountains!! Come up near jump run and Steve couldn't find his "Hat" and did a "Stevie Freak Out Show!!" Joe Morgan said,"Oh Hell!!, Here, use my 'Frappe Hat" and I'll jump without one!!" Well, Steve liked it and went and bought one and jumped it for ever after!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  18. Hi Jim, Are we having any fun yet?? SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

  21. Hi Ed, Yup, Right on 'bout "Slidell" and "Gold Coast!!" I grew up in Skydiving down there a long, long time ago, thanks for jogging the old braincells!! As for nice"Scenery" where ever you jump, doesn't matter, it's "Everywhere!!" SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  22. Hi Dennis, 'Don't need to burn no stinkin' ko-ran!!! Everything I ever needed to know about islam I learned on 9/11!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  23. Hi GD, Procedures, Procedures!! The best laid plans of mice and men, in this case not a good one. The guy made it thru AZ State and got an engineering degree, Hmmmm? He was here and intrenched. Why didn't he just get an immigration attorney and have at it?? All he did is check into the Hotel Baja California,"Ya' can check out but ya' never leave!" SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  24. Hi Tex, Maybe you should mention pack jobs that "YOU" jump!! My self I've seen some fast packers and ya' gotta remember what happened to "Amphethemine Annie," "SPEED KILLS!!" However I digress,.....back a few cases of beer ago I got to Elsinore after jumping at Perris all day and it turned out to be Harry Leichers' Birthday and there was a 10 minute call on the "Caribu" (Remember the BU??) Marti Klett said,"DELI!, Yer on the load!" I said,"I'm not Packed!" He said,"Get Packed!" I did, made the last dirt dive and off we went to the wild Blue!! I KNEW I was gona' have a mal!!, I just Knew it, Packed my old Stiletto 170 in a BLUR!!" Great dive and............ It was the sweetest, cleanest softest opening I ever had on that Canopy!!!! GO FIGGURE??
  25. Come to think of it....did they have camera's when you made your first jump? tintypes? Running>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Hi Gypsy!, Funny thing you should mention that?? 'Remember the Kodak "Brownie!!," talk about a "Freeze Frame!" if anything moved in the slightest the pic is a total "Blur!!" Things got a little better with the "Instamatic," even shot some air-to-air (mostly air!) with one! The Japs spoiled it all with the motorized Nikon 35mmSLR. Blue skyz!!
