  3. My dream job is to be a medic in 1/10th. Since Im from germany it would be perfect. Besides saving lives is the best job next to teaching.
  4. If I have wrong someone, I admitt it, and try like hell to make it right. By doing so your not only showing the person that you are mature enough to do so, but you become a better person as time goes by.
  5. Quote....would you? What would be the first thing you would do? Okay, 1. NO MORE HOMLESS PEOPLE everyone will have a home. I used to be homeless. 2. ALL sex offenders a slow and painful trip to hell!! 3. Free College Education, in my country college is free. 4. Develop a cure for the top 5 deadliest desiese. 5. Make skydiving an Olympic sport 6. If you have a USPA rating you get 50% of any rig you want providing that you agree to continue to teach for at least 1 year. 7. My personal favorite I get to jump with every member of the Pink Sky Mafia, 1 down(Katie) many more to go.
  6. Congrats!! I havent been coaching very long but I can tell you some things to watch for: 1. Rehearse what you are going to do on the ground and make sure the instruction in understood. 2. Once in aircraft I ask my student to go over it one more time. Just to make sure their thinking process is focused. 3. I always do this, Go over a saftey plan should something happen, IE falling in clouds, aircraft emergencies at altitude, and this is one of my doings, I always establish a distress sign for them to signal me if something is wrong. These are but a few, but they are effective and make the student feel comfortable with you and your competence level. Congrats again.
  7. Since 91 I have never been able to get a full nights sleep. Im always up after 2-4hours then its WTF. So what I do when I really want to get to sleep, is I run mental drills in my head like picking the first word that comes to mind and try and make as many words as I can from that word, and I do this all in my head with my eyes closed. Eventually after exhausting myself with more advanced drills, I can get about 2 more hours of shut eye. Corny I know but it works for me.

    Tall Women

Sarah, As not only a member but the "President for the National Coalition of Short People" Tall women are babes. All through college thats all the women I could only date. One of the reasons being that they were too tall to get the dates they wanted, and I too short to get the dates I wanted, so we saw the humor and hooked up. And there is more to love on tall women Funny thing alot of them liked the idea. From My line of sight Sarah, I love tall women, expecially when she's in high heels (graaawwwwwwhhhhhhhhhllllllllll)
  9. You cant be serious!!! Ill pm you before I do though, your sig/other isnt going to hunt me down is he?

  12. QuoteAre you ABSOLUTELY sure you aren't trying to pick up a skychick? If I thought I had a chance with one of the Pink Mafia types most definately!!! BUT no Im not
  13. Your not going to believe this even shocked myself. You are 65% Pure! (Very interesting.) Here's how the REST of the world breaks down, compared to you: people less pure than you (59%) people like you (2%) people more pure than you (39%) Based on the 14,297,090 submissions before you.
  14. Okay before I get into this, I just want to clarify that Im not trying to pick up women here (although some of you would be at the top of my list if I thought I had a chance) I just want to let some of you know how much your appreciated. last weekend I had an absolute blast with members of TSP. Even met up former work partner Chuck Blues better half Katie. She is so cool. Chuck you lucky dog! In my opinion women bring certain balance to the sport. I have always found it so cool to watch them excel in this awesome sport. Ive learn so much from people like Susie Hanks, Cheryl Whitford, Jessie Farrington, just to name a few. Im not taking another from my male counterparts, but come on guys you know that we have some HOTTIES in this sport that put a smile on our faces everytime.(Pink Mafia) I enjoy the fact that you gals can get just as crazy as we can and still have fun with it. You GALS ROCK!!!
  15. Lisa, Take care of yourself. When I was injured and unable to jump I used that "ground time to help out on the dz even if it was motivating a scared student. Yeah I know what your thinking the sky is where you would rather be, but less face it, you dont need to take the uneccesary risk right know. Hang in there babe, you'll pull through. We're pulling for you. Take care zulu
  16. At TSP we have guys that are tandem and camera flyers and there are always fun jumps. Alot has to do with the mentality of the people your with. For me jumping is an escape from my 16+ hours a day job. Since I dont smoke, drink, do drugs of any kind, and Im not an eye catcher skydiving affords me the opportunity to have fun with my extended family on the DZ, and yes we always have a good time.
  17. Congrads! Now go jump and have fun working on your next license.
  18. Bro, I can tell you and some of you who know me can attest to this. Im gone 200-250 days out of the year and jumping is one of the cornerstones of my life. Its very hard and frustrating. Ive been there more than I can count. However I will tell you that persistance and patience pays off in ways you cannot imagine. My peers who have started with me have all kind of crazy ratings and are in the thousands, its okay. The wheather will suck at times and not every day will be a day to jump. Stay with it, dont give up. We are all here to support you on this. Stay with it, if nothing else but to prove you can persevere. zulu
  19. Someone asked me at TSP DZ last weekend why did I decide to teach? Immediatley the event that took place on Son DZ Ft. Campbell, started to unfold. Here is what I told the student; FT. Campbell parachute club was the most awesome club for us jumpers back in the 90s. For $20 you could rent gear and jump as much as you can out of the UH-60 Blackhawks. Susie Hanks and Harry Parrish were my "Parents" into the skydiving world. Well on this Sunday evening it was the last load of the day, and I was still a novice but no longer a student, I hurried to the Aircraft to get on the load to jump with a 4 way, not to be apart of it but just to go out and observe. One of the jumpers on the load asked me where did I think I was going and I said Im on the load, he said no your not, you cant fly and he replaced me with one of his buddies. That incident still to this day is fresh like it was yesterday. That is why I decided to pursue every Instructor rating I can get. . People who know me, understand that when I come to the DZ the students have priority of my time, then its play time. Sometimes I will not jump if a student needs help packing or BSRs. Ive had some awesome instructors like Kip Lohlmiller, Greg Offhaus, Jose Malave, John Hillbush, SGM Ike, SGM Lamb just to name a few. Skydiving is a sport that promotes cohesion and in my case it is my extended family. (Jumping off my soap box) Now tell us Why did you decide to become instructors. Zulu
  20. Okay I know this may sound a bit odd from a male, but yes I do think about skydiving more than sex and yes Im very addicted. I can hear some of you guys/gals wondering WTF is up with zulu? Here is why? I dont smoke I dont drink I dont do drugs of any kind I dont do the club thing I rarely party and Im under the 6feet rule (womans joke) Skydiving is the only thing Ive got to put a certain level of balance in my high tempo world. So yeah Ive got issues.
  21. I can tell you from experience. I jumped out there in Lewis, with a small sinus. So I thought I can hang (RGR mentality..ask J he knows what Im talking about) once we were at 15000 feet I was so messed up they had to land and evac me. Not a good Idea ACME stay grounded and heal. The jump will be much sweeter when all you have to focus on is having fun and not feeling like s#@t. zulu
  22. Kiki, PRCP is definatley a must. However you will get it with repetition. As you leave the plane focuse on getting the practice rip cord. Dont worry about the falling. Focus on arching your body, reaching for the rip cord, pull, and check. If its fear that is causing you to hesitate, dont worry, FEAR is NORMAL!! belive me I know. Practice in front of the mirror and watch yourself to critique yourself. You will see what corrections need to be made and correct it. Hope this helps zulu
  23. This is one that I had designed to honor fellow Rangers who died in the Mog. Jeremy Dalton did an awsome job. zulu
  24. Who was your most memorable instructor? I would have to say mine was Jose Malave and Paul Guerra. Jose never got impatient with me even though I chose to stay on static line for dam near 40 jumps. He always said smile and everything will be fine. Paul for all the AFF he ran me through over and over and over again. Now Im a coach and will be giving back to the community that these guys gave to me. zulu
