  1. Hey my Silver(body) and Black(wings) S3 looked great. Black stitching, black mesh... Kris.
  2. There is a white Firebird at our DZ, someone(some of you may know who) painted a Penis and Bollocks on that suit with a permanent marker. With the owner's consent. Kris.
  3. What is this Super V2+ that people keep talking about? Can we see pics? What about pics of the Rigor Mortis? Kris.
  4. While we await Mirko's reply. The whole point of the mod is to increase area, any competent rigger should be able to do it. It is the same thing as the GTI performance wing extentions( Ed) or the modifications to Sams S3. Kris.
  5. Well, O.k . Would be interesting to know the details of the competition. Was this an open for all or was it just Robi and Jeff? Rules...like exit altitude and opening altitude. etc. And to see pics of the new suits. Kris.
  6. Well it say's April 1, 2007, 4:10 PM based on my settings. So, had to acknowlwdge that possibility. Also 3.5 miles is a bit on the lower side for a big suit. Awaiting a full report. Kris.

  8. This seems to be an attempt at April fools humor but...if it is true. Congrats Jeff!! I.75 in a tailwind and a straight line flight is rather low. Which Robi are you talking about? Robi of Morpheus? Kris.
  9. O.k, since you cannot receive a PM, I am curious how the arm wings were designed. The designer talked about a better aspect ratio...there is only one way to do that. Straight arm wings...that creates a problem and I can't figure out the solution to that. Kris.
  10. This info will come out at its own pace. Last year people got previews of the V2 but since PF had not officially released the suit....information was not available until a bit later. I am sure we will see a few pics when people finally sort out their stuff. Kris.
  11. You are not the only one to think this. Here is an article by Lukas Knutsson(RIP). 'Tracker.mov' is available for download on skydivingmovies.com.

Corrected the URL. If anyone is searching on this topic. Kris.
  13. Why don't we see atleast one big docked flock picture this year? It has always been called flock n dock but until this year, there have been no attempts at docked flight. Let the rest of the people see a docked picture for this year's flock and dock. My count is atleast a 7 way. Matt can to get the pic . Kris.
  14. Nice Pics Everyone!! I didn't want to spend two days off at the embassy for less than a week of holiday. So, have to sit here and ogle at the pictures. I had 8 pints of beer this week at Lunch...can you guys match that? . Welcome to London!! Kris.
  15. Yuri, Jumping flat seems to put the initial AoA at Zero or close to it. As the downward speed increases, it initially increases the AoA, if we reduce pitch we are maintaining a low AoA. Sounds complicated to do but it is very natural if we just fly based on the feedback from the air. I don't see how 45 degrees is relevent at all. If we launch down at a 45 degree angle the AoA is also zero but mastering that exit is really hard. Kris.
  16. 1.6+ is possible. Maybe better, but my Prodigy pants had become too loose at that point. One thing I can say is don't sell the suit. Even when you are flying a big suit, going to the small suit and putting a few jumps on it helps immensely. There is always the 'Mirko Mod' . Kris.
  17. Nice looking suit. Have fun at Z-Flock. Kris
  18. Did you not fly against Darren and by your own admission get 'smoked' ? You can probably tell us how you two compare physically. But if your height is nearly the same then you must suck(no offense) to be beaten by him. He is undoubtedly the heavier and stockier of you two. Yuri(not YuriBase), according to Darren is of similar physical build as him. Maybe you guys will have an opportunity to fly together. Kris.
  19. No, that is not what I was trying to say. There is no increase of vertical speed ( past the sustained vector speed). Kinda obvious, but, in reply to the quoted part from your previous post, I was trying to say that there is no increase and decrease of the vector speed, just an increase(along a vector that is changing direction) until the forces are balanced. Anyway, I guess we totally went off on a tangent in this thread. The idea is not to calculate L/D just to get novices used to flying for distance. The method described in this thread is a simple and practical solution. Seriously, where do we get clouds from on every jump? We can choose a different exit distance(spot) based on wind speed and direction. Kris.
  20. When I do a still air jump, my overall speed(velocity along the vector) is increasing until a steady state is reached. There is no increase of vertical speed ( past the sustained speed) and then bleeding of horizontal speed to gain better glide and slow fall rate. The good flights are when I can sustain this speed for the longest possible time without bleeding it using the mechanism you explained . I don't have GPS data to support this(in part because of my stupidity and in part due to bad luck...I was very keen on collecting this information last year ) but the video certainly shows this. PM me if you want to know which one I am talking about. Kris.
  21. O.k, I think I get what you are saying. You are talking about the ability to make changes and I was talking about the performance flight itself. Is this situation an example of what you are talking about? Last year, on a jump from Smellveggan, I choose a slightly wrong angle on exit and kept going, the people standing at the exit were sure I would turn to paste. As I was flying (looking between my legs at the wall), something did not add up and I started a carve towards the fjord and looked up...let's just say that the video would have been impressive. A stall or panic reaction at that point would have made things really bad. Ofcourse, it was avoidable in the first place. Kris.
  22. What about people that claim that they "out-popped" someone and then the other person comes here and tells the exact opposite story? This is one of the barriers that jumpers have to overcome when trying to learn in the skydiving environment. So what are the options? a) Do what is suggested in this thread. b) Use a GPS. Flying for glide is about the flyer and the air, there is no place for anyone or anything else. I am sorry to keep repeating this but it is worth repeating... Looking at someone or something means you are not flying your best. Like Robi said, it is not hard. People that want to fly for distance/glide figure it out, most people that don't learn this can only blame themselves. Most people do not care or think they fly really well anyway. Kris.
  23. Hey Ed, Do you mean that you don't have both suits now? How do the suits compare? Kris.
  24. Taking a spot a given distance away from the LZ and flying back is a brilliant way of learning to fly for glide/distance. The reason is quite simple, the focus is on getting back to the LZ. Kris.
