  1. All wingsuits that have sweptback arm wings and the proper balance (for max glide...relatively smaller armwings and a big legwing)will look the same. The pressurized suit has a few differences compared to the Vampire in how the suit is tailored. Anyway, I will have both suits(V2 and Trigger) this season so there should be some comparision data at the end of this year. Kris.
  2. Yup. Also, it may not be such a wise thing to cut wings that remain inflated(tri-wing design) in freefall. IMO, these wings can be shutdown easier when attached to the body. Kris.
  3. Based on what I have seen, the trigger has some really nice features. More when I get my suit Kris.
  4. affirmative on using deployment bag. Kris.
  5. There fixed the links. Can Identify Yuri, Nadia, Patricia, Martin and Kate ...can someone help me associate the pics to names? Kris.
  6. I have a second rig(1980s racer) to jump my BlackJack 280 from the airplane. Mesh slider and all. Openings are the same as a WS BASE opening. Kris.

  8. Congrats on the jump. So what did you order? Kris.
  9. Huh? ....giving the birdie to the birdies next to you. Kris.
  10. Don't understand that sentence . Are you saying that Yuri made it to the LZ using up only 500m of the available altitude ...as in opened at 700m? If I remember correctly...you posted after a trip last year about seeing someone(was it Per?) open at 500m above the bar in his V1. Hence the 700m . Kris.
  11. No offense. If that is the case, you have not seen enough footage or observed closely. Patrick DG pulled in a sort of box position. Loic's pulls in Soul flyers(1) are closer to a box pull than the symmetric wingsuit pull we are used to. One handed throws can be seen in many modern BASE videos. Whatever works for him. He may not have wingsuit experience or BASE experience...but I bet he has some experience with the deployment sequence . The lesson that can be learned(about how to fly close to objects) from this has been pointed out by Han-Solo and Robi. Kris.
  12. Some people from Headcorn(My home DZ ) went to Perris for a week atleast a month ago. According to them, Jeb and Luigi were jumping wingsuits together the whole time. Kris.
  13. Interesting reading... Induced Angle of Attack V Formation of birds and upwash effects Maybe we will figureout how to fly like birds and then no one will want to take Scott Bland's place in the formation. Kris.
  14. From the Z-Flock 3.0 thread, Jeff's winning flight took him 3 ground miles in 176 seconds. That translates to 61mph avg forward speed. However, you can go much much faster forward if you also go much much faster downward (dive, for example, or gain 50 lb). But what's the point? We want to be birds, right? Birds soar, they are not bullets. As a sidenote, that trackingderby data you posted has a GR of ~1.5, which is the same GR of Jeff's run at 3.0. If the trackers did not have a tailwind, and the data from both jumps is accurate, then our wingsuits are not as glide-assisting as we think (once you factor in endurance). Search 'Wingsuits Speeds' and read Jim's post from a few years ago. 3.6 miles in a GTI at 1.8 GR with a downward speed of around 45 mph. Trackingderby is about who can jump in the greatest amount of tailwind. So what does flying for 176 sec but only flying for 3 miles in almost no wind in a huge suit(compared to a GTI) mean? The flyer in the GTI is a few inches taller than Jeff but still a GTI can fly as good as a Mach 1? Don't use that flight as a yardstick. 2+ L/D(no wind) over 10000' of fall are achievable. We cannot soar with a wingsuit, a paraglider, glider, or a hangglider is needed for that. Glide can be pretty good when going down slightly faster than 36mph. However one chooses to fly, the joy is pretty much the same
  15. ...not allowed. Oh and no rockets either . Kris.
  16. Snug fit or the biggest one that fits? Kris.
  17. If wingsuits, inflatable pants/jacket and any kind of suit with inflatable booties were not allowed, what would you were in a tracking contest? Please explain what reasons led you to make that choice. Kris.
  18. Give me some time Current goal for my V2 is 35mph vertical and 85+ horizontal. Huh ?? He said lower than 32 mph sustained. I think 35 is greater than 32. Anyway at what point did this thread turn into a whose is bigger contest? Matt, That dude in that GTI can undoubtedly fly faster horizontally than he is going. A bit pointless though because he will not be with the formation. He will either be ahead and above or ahead and below the formation. Kris.
  19. Put about 160 ish on my S3 after 100 plus on the Classic II and GTI. My S3 is to date the best fitting suit that I ever flew. Have not experienced the joy of flying a proper fitting 'big' suit since. Hopefully soon
