  1. thanks for all the replies, i have xp sp2, i have formatted it in the camera several times, it has videos on it, but when i go to my computer and click on the drive, it says drive not formatted...in the manual it says dont let the computer format the drive, i thought i read somewhere the only way to transfer was through usb or the av cables... but i cannot find that info now. on sonys web site it says to use a card reader also....i bought a 8 gig sony stick from amazon...i have had a fake cf card before...but i think this one is org....thanks tony p.s. i hooked up another card reader to my laptop, it reads the card fine, then i hooked it up to my desk top, it worked fine...so my dell 24 monitor with the card slots built in must have a problem...wonder if there is a firm ware update or possibly the pins are messed up...tony
  2. can you transfer video by way of the memory stick reader...Mine says its not formatted...even when i open the handycam utility it still wont find the card? is usb the only way it can work? they send a memory stick adaptor with the card, so i assume you should be able to use a card reader...thanks tony
  3. possibly when the bag is collasped flapping in the wind on the ride down? tony
  4. walk your brake lines, if they twist around any other line group...something is wrong...tony
  5. another question, do you jump with mini rings and type 17 risers? im slightly over, i jump type 8 and large rings...tony
  6. its impossible to schedule for a dealership to suit everybody, that is why we schedule a write up time...i seen people bring a lawn chair, we say so you have been here before...we try not to rush the customer during the write up... what happens there determines if the complaint is accurately stated to the tech, which alot of times it isnt....i have a vibration, what speed, on the gas, off the gas, only when cold, hot...etc...other stuff is easier, oil change...waiter oil changes take priority, but usually they have a list also...we have walk in's...tow in's...just stuff we cannot schedule for....typically were a small dealer...we may see 50 cars a day, some more, some less...so if everyone shows up for write up at he same time, everybody will be frustrated....including the writers...as to the extras, ask which is most important and why i need them...we do an inspection sheet on almost all vehicles...so you know that next time you are going to be looking at a brake job, or coming up next time will be your trans service....they say you need something ask to look...i understand the push to sell, i hate that, thats why we try to prepare the customer ahead on time....tony
  7. i think if you worked in the business you would understand better what we go through....nobody wants to wait to get thier car fixed....im just as impatient as the next person...people are frustrated when they get to our door....sometimes we get 3 waiters at one time, usually we try to figure out which is the fastest, which one only wants to wait on diag... we do offer onsite rentals...shuttle....and a valet service on thursdays for $10....a good writer can make the situation better by updating the customer, but if the customer chooses to wait....we have a saying," thats why they call them waiters." but in the end, the appt time at our dealer is the time to be written up, not your car going in the door....also in your service manual should be the service schedule....tony
  8. oh please...dont you have a thing you can hook up and tell you whats wrong....we here this all the time...its amazing people will wait hours for jobs that should have been drop offs...the scheduled time at our dealer is the time your car will be written up...not worked on...lifts tied up...dying on the previous job...i hate being right in the middle of rebuilding a trans and i get a waiter..the waiters are given some preference if its something simple....but usually its an intermittent problem or something that takes some real diag.......signed disgruntled #2
  9. c is the yoke size and the 19 is the mlw length..tony
  10. i would just put a junk yard engine in the car..then get another to build...also is the comp ratio ok for a turbo charged engine...there are many variables to building a turbo charged engine. way over my head...so i would try to find a build online or a magazine that they had good luck and proven performance out of....imho...tony we must have been typing at the same time....
  11. i wouldn't jump it. but im kinda weird about things like this..why don't you find a master rigger or just send it back to sunpath for the repair? You can even change the colors when they are working on the flap if desired...Got a boc?....tony

if its a 4 year 500 is great, but if its an eight year, you can usually do better.. also you need to know the man. date as the schedules go by it..so if yo get one thats 5 years old and you do the 4 year, you just lost a year cause its due back in 3 years... cypres + 3 months or cypres 2 +6 months...tony

  16. lay it out like a flat pack and measure the differential. here is how to measure pd line length..when i searched before, it seemed like most people thought 3 inches differential, from the outside to the inside... i have a 500 jump spectre 190 with 2.25 diff on a lines... http://www.performancedesigns.com/docs/linetrims/Measure-Line-Trim.pdf
  17. assuming: base clear, probally less than a gallon...depends on the mix ratio and coverage of the paint, but if you are doing this yourself, having someone out of state custom color it...i would double the amount. since there will be mistakes and parts that need to be repainted again....Why dont you use a local paint store? ...tony oh yea, gun type will play a big factor in the amount also..hvlp..lvlp...conventional, old binks7 suction...etc..
  18. I don't know exactly how they work - maybe someone who has been to a meeting can give more detail. According to the site there's a general membership meeting on Friday night, and the board meets over the rest of the weekend. I would assume that the general membership portion would be the opportunity for members who are not also on the board to be heard, but I don't really know. here is the minutes for 2007. all the other years look about the same...tony https://www.uspa.org/contact/BODminutes/GMM_2007_Minutes.pdf usually lasts 1 minute then an informal discussion...
  19. Among the USPA’s primary objectives is to guard the integrity of the sport of skydiving by demanding that USPA members uphold the basic ethical principles outlined in the USPA Constitution and other policies. However, within these parameters and in accordance with state and federal law, USPA members are free to conduct business as they choose. Consistent with its policies and procedures, the USPA does not—and will not—seek to regulate the business activities of its members. i agree with this part, restoring the individual membership is ok, but notice it does not regulate the business activities of its members( didnt say group members) what a load of crap......tony
  20. 3rd party insurance...also part of the pledge...
  21. Cessna may not have made the part that failed, just like ford didn't make the tires. how many times do you hear pilot error..that may be the cause but you have to wonder how many times they have not found the real problem and the pilot is blamed...I think the suit is alittle premature, but i'm sure cessna is well equipped for this...i wonder how much of a percentage off each plane goes to cover legal battles? has there ever been a jump plane crash with fatatilities that there wasn't a law suit?..tony
  22. Has the final report came out yet? so how do you know it was just pilot error? Ford was responsible drivers loosing control of explorers when the tires blew? They were driving, engines running, brakes were working.....tony

well when you start thinking about getting the point complete or waiting on somebody thats just out of the formation....it can and will happen...ive lost alti. awareness and i have seen the expression on others faces as i start to turn to track...several years ago my cypres was out for 4 year..i jumped without it. on the 1st jump without it, i was kicked hard in the head by a guy i have 400 jumps with....gets you thinking....tony
