    RW suit

Why not? He's asking about an RW suit. Why wouldn't "experienced RW" input apply? -Because he may well decide that freeflying is his thing and not RW. Shhh...don'cha know we need some young'uns Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
  5. I've been thinking about switching to DirectTV. What staellite provider are you using and why is it so slow? Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
  6. I said it was possible. And as far as I know the box is used for premium channels. The basic stuff many times is just there. If you could do that No One would use a cable box. My T.V does not talk "Cable" You must have a really old TV. I have cable hooked to 4 sets in my house...not a one of them has a box. Check the setup postion of your TV's menu. You can switch inputs...one of them most like says "cable" or something like that. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
  7. Your'e still with us...you did the right thing after doing the wrong thing. You learned your lesson. Launching a 4-way from that altitude is probably ok...turning points? Not judging...been there done that. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

  9. It might get even better. Many times when you cancel your cable service it's not really cancelled. They can de-authorize your cable box but unless someone comes out and physically disconnects the line to your residence it's still there. Just bypass the box and hook it directly to your tv. Might work, might not. Oh, and yes...you can have internet without paying for cable tv. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
  10. This is funny... http://www.healthdecisions.org/News/default.aspx?doc_id=145126 The leaders have agreed to ask voters in November to require employers to spend between 1% and 6.5% of their payroll costs on healthcare. The measure would also levy a tax on tobacco sales of at least $1.50 a pack, although it could be as high as $2 a pack, the aides said. "It's an incredible plan," Nunez (D-Los Angeles) said in an interview. "I couldn't tell you there is one single outstanding issue that is a make-or-break issue." Yea right Under the plan, California employers with payrolls of up to $250,000 a year would have to spend at least 1% on healthcare for their workers. Those that didn't would pay into a state-run health insurance pool that would help secure coverage for the employees. Companies with payrolls up to $1 million would have to pay 4% and those with payrolls up to $15 million would have to pay 6%. All larger companies would pay 6.5%. As you get higher in the payroll number the effect lessens. Most companies with these payroll numbers already are contributing to an employer sponsored plan. Those involved in the negotiations said the only major piece still to be ironed out is the tax on tobacco. Schwarzenegger and Nunez have been negotiating with the tobacco companies to see if they can craft the provision in a way that will win their acquiescence, if not their support. But aides said they are also still discussing whether $1.50 a pack will be enough to fund the plan, or whether they will need $2 a pack -- an amount tobacco industry leaders say they will oppose. I believe this is where the lion's share of the money will come from. You can bet the tobacco's won't just roll over. Bob Ross, president of the California Endowment, a Los Angeles-based foundation that favors expanded healthcare, cited as obstacles the state's weakening economy, the budget gap and the continued standoff between President Bush and the Democratic-led Congress about expanding federal health insurance for children. "Just as with the energy deregulation fiasco, legislators are being rushed into voting in the dark on a sweeping bill with massive loopholes and serious financial ramifications that no one has adequately reviewed," said Donna Gerber, the [California Nurses] union's chief lobbyist. I wouldn't hold my breath over this one. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

Not many people, myself included are going to care much about what happens to the people in these lyrics. Shooting and drug dealing has become vogue. It's like my teenage daughter who wants to wear Abercrombie and Aeropostale. It's fashion. It needs to be changed from within and there's fat chance that Al and Jessie really want to do that. LBJ started alot of this with his "Great Society" BS. Agent Smith: Did you know that the first Matrix was designed to be a perfect human world? Where none suffered, where everyone would be happy. It was a disaster. No one would accept the program. Entire crops were lost. Some believed we lacked the programming language to describe your perfect world. But I believe that, as a species, human beings define their reality through suffering and misery. The perfect world was a dream that your primitive cerebrum kept trying to wake up from. 16. Funny thing is, in some of those "bad" neighbourhoods where gun homocides are very frequent, (illegal) gun ownership is high as well. I thought more guns was supposed to mean lower gun crime? Hmmm....illegal gun ownership..how about illegal gun possession...more gun crime...who'dathunkit? Aren't you starting with 100% in both categories? Please don't dent the planet. 18. I think that's a big part of the answer. No one really pays attention or gives a f#%K as long as we allow the bloodsuckers in DC a line of credit. The tax and spend crowd (Reps & Dems) would have to rein in both if they want to get re-elected, It seems simple enough. That's why Ross Perot got my vote Balanced budget, flat tax, get Nancy and Harry on the phone! Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

  21. Advantage over Tandem, no Tandem instructor needed. Advantage over AFF, no AFF instructors needed. Advantage over IAD, no instability on short delays. It is an example of one of the innovative things Ted Strong has come up with. He was thinking of small drop zones that had plenty of S/L or IAD instructors but not AFF instructors. Now there are enough AFF instructors at most places. The problem with it was that it was too gear intensive, and people are not very willing anymore to deal with anything but the simplest gear configurations. (That's actually probably for the best because many skydivers are not willing to learn much about gear.) My first thought with that setup was a sloppy sudent exit followed by being tangled up in drogue. Seems very possible to me. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
  22. Here's another right wing source quote. While opposing tax cuts, Clinton has supported hundreds of bills boosting federal spending by hundreds of billions of dollars. During her first two years in office, Clinton sponsored or co-sponsored 169 bills increasing spending by a total of $124 billion, while failing to sponsor or co-sponsor a single bill to reduce spending. In 2003 and 2004 Clinton grew even more generous with the taxpayers' dollars. She sponsored or co-sponsored 211 bills to increase spending and just three bills to reduce it, yielding a total net cost of $378 billion. This made Clinton the second most "expensive" senator during that time. http://www.ontheissues.org/Senate/Hillary_Clinton.htm If HillBill is elected hang onto your wallets. 23. Out of curiosity, did you charge interest? The sale of a car and a car loan should be treated as separate transactions by the government, and in company books. The purchaser of the car had to pay sales tax on a $4000 car, not a $500 car. True, the sale of the car is taxable income now, the interested is taxable as it comes in. The only way around paying the tax is to set up a related finance company and sell the paper to the RFC at a discount. The seller takes a loss on the paper to use as a write-off against income and the RFC is a cash accounting customer and doesn't have to worry about paying tax on money until it's received. Everyone who set up an RFC that I knew was audited. There's a boatload of rules and the IRS knows that it's a way around accrual acounting methods. I never wanted to do this because it was a logistical nightmare. I also don't have a problem paying tax, but only on money I've received. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
  24. If you consider that alot of the things on the original list like state sales taxes and such are paid with money from your paycheck which has already been taxed the tax rate in this country is getting huge. I used to run a business that financed cars. I'd spend $2000 for the car, sell it for $4000 and finance it with $500 down. In my books I went in debt by $1500 to sell that car. The tax code says I just made $2000 profit! Taxable profit at the time of sale. It almost put us out of business. I wrote a letter to every member of the House Ways & Means committee. Not one response. I always wondered what the average citizen would think if Uncle Sam wanted to tax them on money they hadn't received yet. I feel sorry for the average joe who goes to work everyday and has no clue that his tax rate is approaching 50%. In Ohio he thinks he just got a raise because the upped the minimum wage. WHere's the answer. I don't know. A balanced budget amendment might go a long ways here. Maybe flat tax or VAT. Line item veto powers for the Pres? Too much of a shift in the checks and balances. Make no mistake about it...congress approves every dollar that's spent. In the end I beleive, if democracy fails in this country it will be because we all figure our that we can just vote ourselves more money. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
