  1. You use your prescription goggles to watch TV. (lost a contact lens) ~AirAnn~
  2. I agree with all said here. I certainly didn't jump on purpose 'into rain'. The rain was about 300-400 feet later. Wasn't my fault. I couldn't very well hear/comprehend 'pilot said cloud' next to an open door. I figured that meant hurry up? One dude jumped, then I am in the door. Then my best buddies started yelling GO or was it NO? Oh well, I was good for about 400 feet. Suddenly my butt started stinging pretty bad. I went flat and then my face caught hell. I covered my face for a second, but a skydiving bad idea. So, there I was getting a 120mph facial. So long ago & and that jump is still painful. I finally a good landing and not one person saw it. AND..., After all that - Where was all the beer? A full load (less 2 idiots) landing still inside a jump plane??? Not one beer? - Gimme a break. ~AirAnn~
  3. Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, May looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow. ~Author Unknown I send my heartfelt condolences to the grieving families. I also extend my deepest sympathy to all friends in the skydiving community. AirAnn (I transfered my Bonfire post) ~AirAnn~

  5. No worries, you can still look at a 12-way the same again… just add 28 to 41 people. So, five 40+ ways & three 53-way attempts? From 12,500 breaking at 6? About how great is that, I wonder. It’s so far out of my reality that I can’t even form a daydream out of it. You done good, kiddo and I sure am proud of you. I suppose your jumps must have been beyond incredibly awesome? Well, I will hear all about Band Camp when you get back home. Lucky for you Sci-Fi is all reruns so the big screen is mostly all yours. Please return yourself undamaged and take the shorter route this time. I don’t want to go all CSI again if you pass up another ETA. ~AirAnn~
  6. Quite a few foreigners in here... Daniel -Skydive Monroe, Georgia ??? (Sea & Sky) ?? New Orleans A really nice guy that I was glad to meet, btw. Edit to add- Somebody must have done a #1 as Tami has a green beer. ~AirAnn~
  7. “Each day in my house with only my dogs.. …and no real noticeable improvement?” Yikes Dude, you need professional help right away. These critters should be doing brain surgery by now. Try teaching them a different trick as dogs get bored too. Pieces of hot dogs will spark new interest in trick completion & will give you the ‘noticeable improvement’ you desire. Only train for their attention span which is 15 minutes. Dogs can hear real well, so you don’t have to yell. Hand signals are way cooler anyway. My suggestion - Get an old remote and teach ‘em how to locate it. You can disguise it tied to a toy at first then later delete toy. Have them cut away asap as batteries taste icky and have no nutritional value. Your hand signal for this could be the raised middle finger of your hand. Just my $1.25 worth (house call trainers charge $75 an hour) Ha Ha Ha ps. When I was broken I taught Flea how to 'track' across the carpet. ~AirAnn~
  8. If Santa Ana did go around the Alamo, the people of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, California, Utah, and parts of Colorado, Wyoming, Kansas and Oklahoma would know a lot more words in Spanish. (Nearly 1/3 of the USA.) They say that if Santa Ana had not been delayed at The Alamo; then we would not have been ready nor nearly as pissed off at San Jacinto. You see, Santa Ana's Army comes waltzing in all puffed up about our butt whoopin at Alamo and 750 Texans were mad as hell & waiting on his happy ass. It didnt hurt that they got drunk and went to sleep either. Anyway, we came down on 1500 of their army and we won. When Sam Houston gave the order to Fire! at San Jacinto; in place of Charge! the Texas troops yelled -Remember the Alamo! Mutha F..kers!!!! New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, California, Utah, and parts of Colorado, Wyoming, Kansas and Oklahoma, or 1/3 of the USA, -You're Welcome. The Score: TEXAS- Gen. Sam Houston - shot in the ankle, 7 dead Texas heros MEXICO- 600+ dead, 700+ allowed to surrender Santa Ana was found the next day hiding in tall grass dressed as a common foot soldier. They should make a sequel. Hey Ya'll - Texas rulz! ~AirAnn~
  9. Oh, ...you will (hopefully) need a bigger gourd. 1-2 feet in length? - Some 3-4 inchs in diameter? Ok ... Luffa cylindrica No worries, I have seeds. ~AirAnn~
  10. This year I am doing gourd vines. Last year I did real well with vegetable loofa sponges. Those again this year as well as birdhouse gourds. I was looking into defining a gourd that is Asian in variety. ... yada, yada yada... So I am checking out gourds and I find interesting historical data. Such as... Can Gourds Be Used For National Currency? A Seed That Inspired Early Aircraft Design. But what frightened me was.... See A Penis Sheath Gourd From New Guinea This has got to be the most disturbing National Geographic like photo I have ever seen. And, what is 'up' with those guys facial expresions & what are they looking at? Im off to plant CANTALOUPE. ... Huh, can those be used as breast coverings? Well... You can eat them... My mind is now ruined, ruined, ruined... ~AirAnn~

  14. About KrisFlyZ's question on plane name- Steve dissed me on the 1st plane name in '01. I told him 100x it was my personal plane and therefore should be appropriately named "AirAnn". (Lordie, I was such a DZ Princess.) One more chance to name it right! ...this time I am thinking ConAir. That Conway is/has always been a good egg. Name this one after him. Ill step aside & catch the next one. Also, ConAir is very appropriate. BWaH! ...just kidding ppl.. ~AirAnn~

  17. SLW Syndrome. - Sudden Loss of Wealth Syndrome. Yes, stress & anxiety... it aint good, but its NOT terminal. Thats right, you are no where near the arsenic hour. For every 2 skydivers that are all good, there are 8 financially unprepared ones. Dude, you gotta think sharp right now or we will find a 404 error stamped on your forehead. Cut out all drag on the pocketbook, including everything. Forget Rantol for now. Make a list of creditors & call THEM so they wont call you. Put on your helmet & strap you ass in, your immediate future is a regretful bitch. Any ole stop loss job will do, check with people you know. Maybe you can become a flexecutive & work a couple of jobs. If worse comes to worse means livin at the dz as a skybum, then dont live there. Anyway, its the fast track for burnout. Find a habitat where you can be an exchange student. Exchange handyman work or webwork for rent. An anticipation of future earnings hand shake deal is not unheard of. Conroe? Maybe the exchange sponsor lives closer to the school and better possible jobs. You never know who you know unless you look closely at those you know. Fact- About the last place people will talk about their real life, is a dropzone. Keep up with school, contact [email protected] for student financal assistance. 19. About measurements- I accidently broke a window just the other day. I went to a glass store. I gave the measurements. The lady said check them again when I get home and call her to be sure. $50, so ok by me to get the damn thing right. I double checked, called her and she cut the glass. Later, Dan brought home a TOO BIG window PAIN. It was too big by one inch. Dan measured the window & my calculations were right. He marked on the paper surrounding the pane the correct measurements. These calculations done by holding the pane up and also by my measuring tape. All measurements indicated an inch too big. Dan took the marked glass back to recut and found out... Her tape measure of the pane was indeed the measurements I gave her, yet Her inches and MY inches were without question an inch OFF. I get nothing but a giant Matthew Lesko question mark on this. This episode happened since my last post here..... Ive opted to tell this because I remain perplexed at # of suits too big. Helpful, I am thinking... would be to 1. -measure with a paper or cloth tape 2. -indicate size by magic marker on the tape 3. -Send the tape with your order or send along by post. This postal delay would be less of a delay than a suit to big. I will now do this on any suit order or anything I am ordering that requires exact measurements and cost over 50 cents. ~AirAnn~
  20. Roy - At this time, Lany is not safe to wear high heels much less drive. That is just the nature of the beast & Zero people want to have their independence taken away. Medical conditions left untreated, are out of our control & mostly unpredictable. I worked in Neuro for several years. She can get a cluster of attacks or individual episodes. Testing plus medical history & symptomology will lead to the proper treatment & there are many. She can start treatment today. What everyone wants to see here, is for Lany to live a normal life. She can do it, she wont give in & is strongly convicted to maintaining her lifestyle. You gotta stay positive & Fight -every single day, I know this well. The first response to any condition is your basic fear of the unknown. Consult a Neuro. This is not an idication of the end of her productive life, happiness or future goals. Far from it. Medicine Men, Clergy, research scientists & Doctors have been working on this one since around 2000 years BC. Dr. Chad likely meant Lamactil in her post. I have taken Lamactil for a year or more + an anticonvulsant for 13 years. I am good, my disease is different, but many of same meds. Mentioned here is an Assistance Dog. This is an option if her situation is going to likely recur with a degree of frequency. It is too early to tell. Somewhere around 70-80% or more are helped with medications. A prescription for a Seizure Response Dog is easily obtained. They warn her, go get help, push a panic button, get a blanket and /or remain with her. Funding is available for her dog, vet bills, etc. An Epilepcy forum is good. Harvard Med has one- http://ehealthforum.com/health/forum29.html Sweetheart, just like skydiving, our problems little or big we fight them. Indeed, we fight like hell all the way ... there are no stupid questions. My best and prayers, Ann ~AirAnn~
  21. ~ Levin says they Suck. LOL, ... its only typical Levin irritating me. Levin will NOT EVER say any suit is ok unless it is FIREFLY. Why he says that Krup sucks- is only to piss me off, it works and he knows it. Always in public, that is his favorite. If that doesnt work, he then announces that I have on a DICKSUIT. .. its all BIG fun. (Not) About my DICKSUIT, the Kurupí legend reveals a dude with a big and seriously long Penis. The statue of the Kurupí shows his penis wraped around his waist - twice. The logo patch shows a guy in freefall with 'something' trailing behind. I like my suit. I have had it a long time. It was a very early prototype, basically. One year, I suggested supporting the Chicks Rock boogie, they gave a suit. The guys are the nicest manufacturers that I have ever had contact with. I have talked to Bev, Tony and some others, and Im just number, (it seemed). The guys are skydivers, they are/were in college and decided to start a suit company in Paraguay from Florida. I bet that was not so easy. I got no idea on... easy or not, start & run, near or far. (but, I will have) Ive heard about ill fitting Kurupee suits, for sure. There is not a suit company out there that doesnt mess up. Levins FIREFLY pants had to be sent back, recently. They made his main suit years ago and a beautiful suit by his design. His suit is surely well made, ...as of last Sun it went thru another unfortunate broken leg landing. I am not dissing anyone, its just an observation over time -But, problems with suits, gear, or lovelife- you always hear about. Suits that work - not so much as that is expected and a non-event. I am glad that there is an upbeat update regardless of the suit company. -tis still skydiving equipment, to me. Lets get it right. just my .01 cents. ~AirAnn~
  22. I just found out I have lost my 1st log booklet. ~AirAnn~
  23. I am not sleeping either... Heart guys know what they are doing. If they say "routine procedure" they have done it many times. Only extremely skilled surgeons go rootin around in somebodies heart and only then when they can fix it. So, I am thinkin you are good to go. In 23 years of following surgeons around, I never met one that was a gambler. Ok, one... but he was a psychiatrist. Not mine, but I did see this guy at the track more than once. Anyone would be nervous. But, not everyone has the entire dz.com forum backin them up. Hoping you heal up and able to head out the exit door asap, ~Ann ~AirAnn~
  24. Dove, ditto. John, I am profoundly sorry. You are not the only teared up person right now. You did fine, John. Seriously. It was hard, it was right & it was time. I very much understand important he was. Skeet & I have a very unusual bond, they tell me. Believe it or not, every single day I have a problem that Great Danes only live for 7 to 9 years. (Flea in pic) ~AirAnn~
