I've only ever had one negative reaction to telling an interviewer that I skydive. Luckily the job really sucked so I wasn't too bothered but they did offer it to me in the end so they can't have been that worried about it. Other than that everyone else has been really interested and pretty cool about it. Whuffos don't often meet actual skydivers so it makes you more memorable and I think it suggests more positive character traits than it does negative. So it's on my cv and that's where it's staying. I can't compare it to a Stiletto but I'm about 180 out of the door and jump a Spectre 135. To be honest I think you'll be a bit bored! Wanna swap?!

I know very little about photography but having jumped video for a while I'm really keen to get in to it and I need your sage-like advice! After poking around the web for a bit I found these two cameras which seemed like they should be quite good: Minolta 505SI SUPER 28-80 Minolta DYNAX 5 + 28-80D Z All I really need is something small and light that doesn't require a degree in physics to get the best out of. A friend of mine had exactly the same problem with his Fury 220 and was frequently accused of low openings, much to his disgust! The rest of us just thought it was funny

I've had a Spectre 135 for about 100 jumps and before that a Spectre 150 for another 100. Perhaps I haven't jumped enough other canopies but I wouldn't consider either of my Spectres as opening all that slow. Flat or pro packed I'd say they both take about 500 feet. As far as I can remember I've only been spanked really hard once . Have you jumped it with someone else's pack job, had someone watch you pack or have someone else actually jump it? Gus "Sex? Not sure about the pc110 but my pc9 came with an np-fm30 battery. I also bought an np-fm50, which is the same size (slightly heavier though) but lasts almost twice as long. Gus "Sex? Once every six seconds. Skydiving? Five times, every six seconds."

Hi Emma, Exactly which policy does she have? Is it this one? That's the one I have and it makes no mention of a £500 limit, do I need to go and check my policy documents? My annual premium is up at around £160, I will be less than happy if I were unable to claim more than £500 . I have an Original Lizard suit which I'm generally pretty happy with. Some of the dimensions are a bit off, around the neck most noticeably, but that's probably due more to my incompetent measuring than anything else. Over the weekend I saw Anvil (Keith?/Bones?) wearing a freefly suit made by Ray, looked very nice and well made. If you're around Langar and know either have a word. There was a comment in the Blinc wingsuit forum about Jari slowing his suit down to 30mph, although I don't know how accurate that is. So that got me thinking: what are slowest sustainable/momentary vertical speeds that people have achieved? What do you think the theoretical minimum is with the current suits? Gus "Sex? All these points about safety and concentration are true, even I might manage to not geek the camera if I was concentrating on some hardcore rw. Not that I'm capable of hardcore rw! Apart from the fact that your facial expression allows you to 'geek' without mucking up your body position, sticking the tongue out and looking like the village idiot is just plain funny. I jump camera and I make a point of encouraging people to geek it, infact if they don't I'll want to know why.

So, after freeflying probably 90 out of my last 100 jumps I got dragged on to an organised 12 way flat yesterday and (shock horror!) it was quite fun!

Hey dude, I'm running Pinnacle Studio 7 under W2K on an Athlon 900, with 512 mb ram and an 80 gb ibm hdd. It works fine, although I've had MAJOR headaches trying to output finished movies back onto my PC9. I would have thought the most critical bit was the speed of the hdd: my ibm is 7200 rpm, ata 100 and the only thing on its ide channel. Most of my pc bits come from dabs.co.uk or scan.co.uk.
