  2. Glad it worked out! Usually, I don't need a canopy in my dreams. After the freefall-part I just reach out my arms & fly like a bird. Chronistin (Home @ http://www.fallschirmspringer.net/)

  6. Thanks, but I have already turned off add blocking. It interferes with too many things. What kind of security settings are you referring to? Chronistin (Home @ http://www.fallschirmspringer.net/)
  7. 1 GB? My first very own Computer had 10MB. A few days after I ordered it, the guys from the store called me & told me they that brandnew option of 20MB drive. Did I want one? My Answer : What on earth would I ever need 20MB for? Those were the times. when I knew the purpose of every single file on my harddrive. Chronistin (Home @ http://www.fallschirmspringer.net/)

    Pet Tricks

I REALLY wanted to get some sleep right now, but... I can't refrain from answering this one. I think I qualify for having owned the dumbest cat ever Smokie (The one on the right in this pic) could never find out how to open a half-closed door. After weeks & weeks of patient showings by me (leaning the door against the frame, taking the feet of the cat & opening the door by gently pushing her feet against the door) she kind of "got it", but decided it was easier to run against the door & opening it by full body force - only drawback: she did the same thing from the outside, thus shutting the door completely & then sitting in front og it, looking incredibly hurt & clueless. Some time later, I decided to get a cat door & spent hours on the task on familiarizing her with it. Just picture me, sitting there with a piece of her favorite sausage, softly calling out to her until she finally dared to go through. And guess what? From then on, she always tried to use the cat door, even when the door was wide open. she was really loveable though & the only cat I know that concentrated more on on people than on surroundings (you could go for a walk with her "by foot", like a dog) but other cats I have come to know were just so much smarter. Like being able to open a fridge door even though the owner had tried to seal it with a broom Anyway. Really off to bed now. Chronistin (Home @ http://www.fallschirmspringer.net/)
  9. thanks for backing up my memory - I've actually been trying to retrieve this old thread I remember, but could not. Maybe someone else? Absolutely! & thx everybody for all the nice words good night & gree'z chronistin Chronistin (Home @ http://www.fallschirmspringer.net/)
  10. When was the transfer done? For some DNS-servers, it can take up to 48 hours until the changes go through. (from hurtful experience) try connecting directly via the IP address (if you know it, that is) - if that works, you'll just have to wait until the DNS "learns" about the changes. 11. Bob Dylan, live Vienna 1999 [Yeah, I recorded that my self. Yes, it was forbidden. No, I did not sell it, nor do I intend to.] Chronistin (Home @ http://www.fallschirmspringer.net/)
  12. Thaaank you... but that was more than ten years ago... Chronistin (Home @ http://www.fallschirmspringer.net/)
  13. Worse things happened. About 6 weeks ago, I read about a guy who did some chemical drugs, got hungry, cut off his toe & fried it in a kitchen pan. Police arrived while he started eating it, still bleeding heavily. The neighbours had called the cops because he had the stereo on maximum. They took the fried toe with them to the hospital, but of course there was no way of re-attaching it. *shudder* Chronistin (Home @ http://www.fallschirmspringer.net/)
  14. I drink lots of water. only carbonated water, though (but without flavor or sugar - I think it's called "bitter" in the USA) - about 3 liters a day. Only side effect I ever heard of is when you drink lots of water during exercise, it can happen that your body gets "undersalted". But even that might be a legend. 15. Jump #35. Transition from Ripcord to Handdeploy. Did the practice touches as advised in high altitude. Still could not find the handdeploy when it was time to pull I was soooo embarassed. Did not want to talk to anyone for hours. Detailed account here - but only for those who care to read german. Chronistin (Home @ http://www.fallschirmspringer.net/)
  16. 27 is the best of the best. Old enough to be allowed to do anything without stumbling into the most obvious traps. Young enough to enjoy it! Happy birthday & keep on going strong Gree'z Chronistin Chronistin (Home @ http://www.fallschirmspringer.net/)
  17. Thanks, Michele. This is the second-most amazing feeling, after the jump itself. Maybe its just me, because I've never been part of anything before, but it's absolutely amazing. As for the avatar, you put the finger on the reason why I still keep it - although my gear & my jumpsuit are much cooler now. Not too surprising,, though, as YOUR stories about the essence of jumping are always the ones that really capture the beauty of a moment. Chronistin (Home @ http://www.fallschirmspringer.net/)
  18. Wellllll... At first I second-guessed my spontanous decision, but then I noticed that the picture in question has been online for a while in the history folds of my longtime project "putting my whole life out on the net". So, since it's there anyway, you might as well see it. If you want to be kind, just keep in mind that nudity is regarded differently over here in Europe - especially by those 70ies people like me. 19. A long time ago, I had a manual for sending beer through a telephone line... but I can't find it any more But maybe someday, on one of those dropzones between there & here... Chronistin (Home @ http://www.fallschirmspringer.net/)
  20. thanks, juane. i really needed that. ->
  21. I think I actually feel kind of honored to have my post being hijacked by the boobie-crowd And since I am the old-european kind of human being, not only politically, but also in general attitude, I could start to dig for those old pics... especially since I am scanning anyway right now. 23. ...browsing the forums from top to bottom, leaving some words here & there & start from the top again as soon as I reached the bottom. Guess I just feel just a little bored right now & very lonely. & yes there are people I could call, but I prefer to hang out with the skydiving crowd. Never posted that much here, but after all those months of reading it still feels like being among friends. please bear with me.
