  1. I like those questions that make me look back 275 jumps here from the following planes: Skyvan (the famous Pink Skyvan) Cessna 182 Cessna 206 Cessna 206 Turbo Cessna Caravan Norman Britten Islander EC 120 Helicopter Turbo Finist Yeah I think that's it. Oops; [edited to say]: Forgot the LET410, very cool it was, with a dedicated human door opener Chronistin (Home @ http://www.fallschirmspringer.net/)

  5. Mufti & Smokie. Both left this world last year, but it feels as if they're still there. Chronistin (Home @ http://www.fallschirmspringer.net/)
  6. None at all. I'm wearing my goggles tight usually, but even when I had to borrow a pair that was a little too big for my face, they just got a little dry from the incoming wind - nothing a few blinks could not correct. gree'z Chronistin Chronistin (Home @ http://www.fallschirmspringer.net/)
  7. Over here in Austria, I've heard pilots calling the task of bringing skydivers to altitude "Deppenwerfen" which would roughly translate into "throwing out the idiots". gree'z chronistin Chronistin (Home @ http://www.fallschirmspringer.net/)
  8. yep. actually I asked the same question a while ago [edit] oops; there was meant to be a link to this thread: http://dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=175581;search_string=weblogs;#175581 Chronistin (Home @ http://www.fallschirmspringer.net/)

    Olav?

oh. I'll have to disagree. When I met him, he seeemed to be a very nice person & a very professional skydiver. gree'z chronistin. Chronistin (Home @ http://www.fallschirmspringer.net/)

    Olav?

Absolutely. He was at our dropzone with Stefania last year before the championships. Both of them really nice & helpful. gree'z chronistin Chronistin (Home @ http://www.fallschirmspringer.net/)

  15. Funny that you all should say that - over here, the Nitro (european original version of the Nitron) is known for its soft, almost snivelly openings. gree'z chronistin Chronistin (Home @ http://www.fallschirmspringer.net/)
  16. ... or at least that's what I heard when telling a bunch of other pilots about my barrel roll exit from the very same skyvan a while ago. Conclusion: "Real Pilots" defy the laws of physics. gree'z Chronistin Chronistin (Home @ http://www.fallschirmspringer.net/)
  17. 35:37 ...but I was so much older than, I'm younger than that now... Chronistin (Home @ http://www.fallschirmspringer.net/)
  18. Not true. On the contrary, wearing no bra is much more comfortable (except with activities like running or rock-dancing) - and the bra is useful for putting "them" in a position to be noticed. gree'z Chronistin Chronistin (Home @ http://www.fallschirmspringer.net/)
  19. I know one guy who flew a Blade (size 108, i think) and his reaction can be summed up in "f*cking hot & f*cking dangerous". And the Nitro is really a great canopy which can be used in different ways. I know guys who swoop it like hell, but the bigger sizes are easily flown by beginners, too. I've been flying a nitro from jump 80, tested some other canopies inbetween but never found one I enjoyed more. I'm not a swooper (and have no intention to become one), I just fly it nice and easy. gree'z chronistin Chronistin (Home @ http://www.fallschirmspringer.net/)
  20. You are so right. but at least it's kind of positive news for my site after this terrible weekend. gree'z chronistin (hoping for a hint when the video emerges...) :) Chronistin (Home @ http://www.fallschirmspringer.net/)
  21. I read in an article (http://sport.orf.at/030609-840/index.html, german) that Mr. Baumgartner won a competition (downwards) against a Pilatus Porter in Arizona last week - during the taurus stunt awards. there are some pics in the article (click on the middle pic) but i couldn't find a video - any hints? thx Chronistin Chronistin (Home @ http://www.fallschirmspringer.net/)
  22. I had heard the very same thing, so when buying my own gear, I asked my rigger about it. she said that this was true earlier, when the lines were made from different materiel, but is not needed any more with the modern stuff. gree'z chronistin Chronistin (Home @ http://www.fallschirmspringer.net/)
  23. Maybe you should ask swedish jumpers. I heard they are required to wear some emergency west if jumping within a ten-kilometre-radius of a large body of water, and since there is a lot of water there, they should have experience with those things... gree'z chronistin Chronistin (Home @ http://www.fallschirmspringer.net/)
  24. Yep - here in Austria it's just "License" or "no License". Of course you can get a "Leistungsabzeichen" (achievement pin?) in A, B, C or D - but it's not required for anything. Chronistin (Home @ http://www.fallschirmspringer.net/)
