  1. What an awesome story! Thanks for sharing it, it is awesome to see some positive publicity about "our" fine sport!
  2. Jones energy drink, fruit, PB sandwiches.
  3. its cool huh? I just did my first solo on 7/2. BIG BIG difference. Congrats!
  4. Hey thats my home DZ! The wind tunnel is awesome! They ran an add in the local paper for whuffo's saying it was $30 for 3 min. cheaper than skyventure. I am not sure if those are the same rates for expierenced jumpers. call Bob at 1-800-skydive.
  5. Skydive Greensburg is about 45min to 1 hour form Cinci. We live in Milan, IN which is 20 minutes from Cinci & we jump at SDGB. The family atmosphere is amazing & the instructors are very thorough & knowledgeable. I just finsihed up AFF there and it was a blast. You can call them at 1-800-skydive, Bob D. will more than likely answer. He is the DZO, tell him Misty sent ya! Directions from Cinci are take I-74 W to exit 134A, go right off the ramp (hwy 3) go approx. 5 light to hwy 46, make a left, take immed. right into park entrance. Go straight past pool, mini golf, etc look for signs on telephone poles. We have a cessna 206 & a caravan. Hope to see ya there soon. Skydive Greensburg
  6. Congrats & welcome to the greatest life on earth! Glad you didn't get "boated" My husband is from Lubbock & we are planning a trip to his folks sometime soon, coming from Indiana we will be coming right by Dallas. we'll be sure to look you up! Blue skies!
  7. definitly NO WAIT! Skydiving had the same affect on me, I now have just recently finsihed AFF & currently have 14 jumps. It is the most amazing thing I have ever found. Not too mention the friendships that come along with it. My husband & I have given up everything. My husband is currently working at our DZ & I am looking for work in the skydiving feild. Congrats on your Tandem(s) & welcome to "our" world!
  8. definitly a cape cod (vodka & cranberry juice w/ a lime) very tasty with a moderate punch. However I don't care too much for drinking, If I was allowed I would take other measures to the F'd up road.
  9. This is a very real aggrevation for me. I am so passionate about skydiving, that when I come across a whuffo who slams skydiving and makes really stupid comments I just want to smack the stupid righ out them. I have heard it all, even "I heard your skin peels off when your falling" We are a part of a very special thing, outsiders will never understand us.
  10. yep as of today, sunset load I did my graduation hop n' pop. I am official now! I m so excited!I really don't know what to say, I am lost for words, it is almost like reliving my tandem adrenalin high again. My hubby is a coach, so that will be to my benefit as well. I am done rambling...Here's to many more blue skies!
  11. I am so stoked! It's almost like reliving my first jump high all over again. I had not planned on doing any more categories until this weekend, but I happened to be at my dz today and it just sorta happened....I went with Jay Stokes, who is by far in my opinion one of the best (check his website at : Jay Stokes ~ Most Jumps It was my last "official" release dive. Next time, probably tomorrow will be my first solo exit and 360 turns. I probably won't sleep a wink tonight, in anticipation for tomorrow. I can actually see the "end of AFF" light pretty clear now. I am so excited! I have never been this pasionate about anything else. SKYDIVING ROCKS!!!!!
  12. my husband & I are going as well as other people from SDGB. We have never went as we are Florida natives. My husband was at Richmond at their most recent competion, and was asked to come back to the boogie as a packer. SO we will be there at least for that. Hope to see ya there!
  13. definitly German, I have wanted to learn German for quite awhile. I know a bit, not much. I would love to be fluent though. Why? 95% of my maternal family is German, so mainly for heritage & history reasons. I also plan to go to Breman Germany in the future & I would love to be able to communicate easily in their native tongue.
  14. I think it's cool as well...not too mention sexy...
  15. great thread...here's mine! 1) devoted loving mother & wife 2) seriously addicted to skydiving 3) accomplished horse trainer
  16. Hi... My first bike was a 2000 CBR F4. I loved that bike. I am a fairly small lady, the bike had to be lowered and such. But I was totally comfortable on it. I know alot of people who start on 600's. My husband did too, but he currently (until he took up skydiving) rode an Erion 929. Any 600 is a good place to start. The GXSR is another good one to start with. The Gsxr 600 is the main choice for alot of people who stunt. It has a great response and it is a well balance bike. Good luck on your choice, & I totally agree, the Busa is not the place to start, unless you have a death wish...
  17. That used to be my husband's home DZ until we moved to Indiana. We had AT & T in florida and always had a decent signal there. Florida is pretty much saturated with cell towers so you shouldn't have a problem. Hope this helps. Oh we had the Nokia 8210 GSM in Florida
  18. OMG! Both of your boys are gorgeous! Congrats on the newby!
  19. Welcome! I enjoyed reading your story! May you have many more blue skies!
  20. Thanks for the warm welcome. I guess I owe ya'll a nit of an intro. I am fairly new to skydiving, but completely addicted. I am 28 and a Florida native, but currently reside with my awesome freefly freak of a husband in S. Indiana We are 60 miles from two med. sized DZ's Skydive Wayne County in Rischmond & Skydive Greensburg. Again, Thanks for the warm welcome, & I am looking forward to getting to know all of ya'll better!
