groovychic replied to SkydiveNFlorida's topic in Introductions and Greets
Welcome! We're from Florida (Tampa) but we are currently in Indiana. Glad to hear of your new interest of skydiving! You life is about to change for the better! I am new too, just 6 jumps from my A license. I did a tandem first, I am glad I did, I was just along for the ride. It allowed me to also know what to expect on my cat a for aff. Good luck & blue skies! Oh how far are you from Miami? There is a girl there who jump there, here name is Kat, she is real cool & and an awesome skydiver. -

Since this was a few years pre-us moving to Indiana, I don't know what all happened. The TM that it happened too, told me about it after we had our run in with him. -
Well I failed cat b (lev 2) once, Cat c-2 three times, pretty much sailed through the rest, but they locked me in the wind tunnel for 8 straight minutes, I finally figured out positive legs, and was real sore for a out a week. The wind tunnel saved me, had I not done the time, I am sure I would have failed more cat's than I did...

Would this be the Greensburg Farmer McNasty? We had a run in with him when a guy who worked at SDGB, had a cutaway, his main landed on the edge of his pond. After about 30 minutes of endless searching, we pull up in McNasty's driveway(at this time we didn't know who he was)I immed. saw the main by the pond, told my husband, he politely asked McNasty if we could go get it, as he started in the direction of (not expecting any trouble) At the time Mcnasty, pulled a gun out of his waist area and threatned me & my husband. Gave us a lecture about dumping "trash" on his property, my husband still keeping his cool, tryed to explain that a canopy is a life saving device, he replied, I'm not talking about the parachute, I'm talking about the skydivers! As he cocked his gun. We immed. left, went back to our dz and called the sheriff. Since we're in this little po-dunk area, no one is skydiver friendly, except the skydivers...ther sherriff slapped his wrist and told him "no-no" the sheriff returned the canopy & lectured our DZO for a bit. That was my first hand expierence. A few years back, one of the TM's at SDGB, landed in his field with a student, Mcnasty drove to our dz & pulled his gun on the TM there...This man is truly a waste of flesh... -
Gee- does this mean I still I have some friends left here?

I would much rather be where I can stop and watch the sunset on a beach than continuly drive past miles & miles of crops here in inbred Indiana....

We refuse to use UPS, most b/c of their delivery problems. The first rig my hubby owned, he bought from some guy in Canada. Well it got held up in customs in Michigan for two weeks, b/c the description of the contents was inadequate. After much arguing with them, it was finally released, & them they wanted us to pay the 5.oo a day holding fee....We got the rig, they didn't get any money. Plus their rates don't compare in anyway to Fedex, neither does their customer service.

Hi, most of ya'll here are aware of the situation we got ourselves into. We never intended to "rip anyone off" that is not our nature, especially other skydivers. I have done right by Bkdice & base455, pm them if you need confirmation. I hope that we will not be the blackdogs any longer and that we will have a chance to rebuild our integrity.

Since I'm new, the lowest I have pulled is 5,000, I like the canopy ride, so I really dont see the need to go lower at this point...

I would like to apologize to to the skydivers out there that we have done wrong. I am sincerely sorry. What can we do to make this right? We did not do this intentionally, we got in over our heads before we knew it & didn't know how to handle it. We had some great ideas for shirts, & wanted to share them, it exploded before our faces, the demand was high, & we simply dropped the ball on our end. Again, I humbly apologize. I will refund your money or if you want to give us the chance to make your shirt I will get that done too. My husband will be home sometime next week he is picking up 3 of our 4 kids from his parents house 1500 miles from here. I wish I wasn't a part of this ordeal, b/c if you had a chance to know me personally, I know you would think different. Please accept my public apologies, & please give me one more opportunity to make this right.
