he is very protective of me...other than that dunno..IMHO I don't have any business being there with out him anyway. At only 14 jumps...

don't keep flip flopping, that is precisely what killed one of our instructors in 97! Stick with one or the other! -
Skydivig is the most amazing thing that you will ever do. There are no words for it. I recommend doing a tandem for your first jump, that way your just along for the ride. That first step outta the palne can be a bit intimidatting, but afterwards you will be hooked. Welcome to the forums's & I can't wait to hear about your first jump!

I just fianished up AFF at Skydive Greensburg. I was trained on an SOS system. I immed. didn't like it. I can see the pro's but the con's definitly outweigh it. My husband did his AFF at lakewales, and they used a two handle system. As soon as I finished AFF my husband spent and hour training me on a two handle system. My question is this...all sport rigs that I have seen & know of are all two handles. Why train a student on SOS if it requires immed. retraining after AFF? The SOS system even was the cuase of a fatality at our dz in 97. Thanks for giving me your thoughts on this! -
Im sad...my hubby is on a road trip to TX to get our kids from his parents, I stayed behind to stay on top of the family business. He asked that I not jump while he is gone, since I only have 14 jumps I am respecting his wishes, but it stinks! Okay I am done pouting now...

definitly ask, maybe it just needs to be brought to his attention. Complancy is a big enemy of skydivers. I would definitly approach the situation though, it might save his life.

That really sucks! There is a local farmer near our dz that we have dubbed "farmer McNasty" We have had two bad run in's with him, one where our master rigger landed with a tandem student in his field, this jerk-off drove to our dz and pulled a gun on him, the next my hubby & I were retrieving a main that landed nest to his pond & he pulled a gun on us for pulling up in his drive way. We live in a very small inbred hick midwest town that is anti-skydiving, all they do is slap this guy on the wrist. Why does there have to be so many closed minded people?

Bad news for skydivers, good news for local bars

yucky.... -
arogant jumpers like the these you spoke of are the ones we eventually read about in the incidents forum. There is no room for arogance or complacency in skydiving. Asking about DZ rules not only shows respect, but also lets others know that you are safty minded. At our DZ, there is no excuse for landing on the runway. it is immediate grounds for grounding. Those guys give the rest of us bad names.

toe taps, check arms, arch & relax...worked for me everytime. I would almost be willing to bet it is because your legs are asymmetrical. Let us know how it goes!

Cat C-2 was by far the hardest, but cat A was the scariest. On C-2 I was trying to fly with my head in my butt, so it took me three times to pass it. My hop n pop was also difficult for me, get ready to laugh, I couldn't figure out how to get out the door....
