  1. Johnstown is not that far away from SkyDivePa. There are a few ppl that I can think of off the top of my head that live down that way and they also make the commute to SPA every weekend. There is a couple that live in or near Ebensburg. Another cpl that live in or near Johnstown themselfs. It is all relative. So, contact the DZO (Jeff @ 1-800-909-JUMP) at SPA, and maybe he can get you in touch with some of the local ppl down that way who jump at Grove City. PS I never heard of the guy on top of me jumping down there...PSS he probably never heard of me either...that way I can remain in cognito. Blues So, you bring your beer? 2. Well, I have my left one done. And I think it is quite the shit! Yes, it hurt like a somB when I had it done, couple of weeks later it was A OK. Those that think it looks bad...thats their problemo...kinda like I don't think having a Cig stuck in your mouth makes ya look cool either. Butt (yea a pun) to each their own. Just my .02. 6. I smoked for over 20 years. Came from a family of heavy smokers. Everyone smoked. 4 years ago I promised myself I would finally do it. Cold turkey, no patch, just my wife's support, I was a real bitch for about 6 weeks or so, but it stuck and I haven't had the butt to my lips for a long time!!! Those ppl who say they rely on it for this or for that, well it's just the smoke telling you to keep doing it, it is a bad filthy nasty habit. It is an addiction, but it can be broken. If you really want to. Just like your first jump, you can exit, if you really want to. So, you bring your beer? Its 5 o'clock somewhere POPS #9344

  8. Make sure the 5th wheel is greased, and insure that it is "locked" if it has that capability. Also, yes, make sure that your 4 way flashers work well, carry an extra flasher if needed, they can become quite hot. Rule of thumb on the flashers...10mph under the speed limit put them on. Also, on fishtailing, you shouldn't have any problemo w/a 5th wheeler, but if you do....don't accellerate, that only makes matters worse, and as stated, don't brake...just let up on the accelerator and slow down, keep an eye on the trailer, and when it is pulling nice and straight again, resume posted speed limit *(yeah right). You shouldn't have any problems with the vehicle pulling it. If you are going by a truck stop you can look for 12v items..but a blender..come on..coffee pot, i've even seen toasters...but not a blender. And this time of the year...if you are going to be going into a cold climate...get AWS...all weather diesel supreme. It allready has the anti-gel in it, but if your on the cheaper side and are getting regular diesel fuel...consider purchasing some anti gel and dumping the recommended amount per tank full into your tank. Which is a reminder...have a funnel. have a great trip. So, you bring your beer? Its 5 o'clock somewhere POPS #9344

  11. Allrighty then, lets see y'all pack a real canopy instead of one of them thar pocket rocket types...like say my Safire2 229. It is a lot more difficult then it looks. Although the first time that I Psycho packed, it opened up owsogawddammsweet that I almost forgot that it was there. Then I went ahead and decided that was the way I was going to pack from then on out...thats where the real fun began, doing it again. Seems like beginner luck the first time around, and lots of cussin' the rest of the times. But still working on all the nylon banditos So, you bring your beer? Its 5 o'clock somewhere POPS #9344

  16. You should have made sure that you had a log book from day 1. It should have been made clear to you by either your DZ or Instructors that you needed to have a log completed after each jump and de-briefing of the jump to record in detail your jump and if you were passed to the next leve, redo a jump, or if you should have went and played golf that day. If your near your DZ, you should try and get a log book, and get the log book up to date the best that you can with the DZ and your instructors. IMHO...blues..Mark So, you bring your beer? 20. Have you ever jumped a 176sf main? If not then why would you try to land your last resort smaller then the main with your experience? Just a matter of choice. i would go with a larger reserve if I had a choice, then a smaller one. Just my .02 worth. But hey, I got a wings and love it. Get all the options you can afford to get. With your exit wt why consider the mini rings? I think IMHO that you need to consider talking with a rigger/manufacture, such as Ankie at Sunrise Rigging/Wings. The soft reserve handle, wow, again lots of change I'm sure from your student rig, a lot of change to change at one time. Makes me wonder. Oh well, have fun and get good advice from someone with lots more experience then me for sure. Keep your eyes open.... So, you bring your beer? Its 5 o'clock somewhere POPS #9344

  22. Take this with a grain of salt please, as I don't know you or your situation in what has happened...but...Do you really think that someone who has access to a video such as this, and has it posted is going to "open" themselves to the general skydiving community? Or to even others at the dropzone where they all jump (I'm assuming here)? The only thing that could happen by admiting that it was them that posted the video or turned the video over or whatever would be what? A lynching? An ass whooping? I don't get what your looking for here as to whom this person is. Whom they are isn't important here is it?? Yeah they may have a grudge, so what. But they sure were not the one's in the video that acted in the manner that is represented by the tape. I just don't see what it matters what this person's motives are or is, it is pretty irrelevant at this time. IMO. So, you bring your beer? Its 5 o'clock somewhere POPS #9344
