  1. Hiall, Id like to know how much relineing cost in case of a Sabre. Who can do it? A rigger? Shoud it be sentd back to the manufacturer?
  2. I had 8 jumps in `99 a similar gear you described, but I dont want to have more of them. Round main & round reserve.........
  3. Or close to polars? Ive heard some issues because of the weekness of ozon layer in South America.
  4. I was told that a main can be kill by leaving it for 4 days in sunsine.
  5. Ive found something about WL limit/recomendation. Thats a dealers site: http://www.parasale.com/siipikuormataulukko.html green = first square canopy orange = 2nd square or 1st elliptic red = 2nd elliptic Most canopy in use is sabre 135,150 Thats not my category, I know very well.
  6. Only someone with 108 jumps or someone who hasn't seen the ball since kickoff would make that statement. Do you think there is any chance that the people who design and manufacture these canopies would know anything about how they will perform. jmo Sparky It was the answer to Ron...... Fell free to blame me because of the lack of experience!!! My weight is 92kg~202 pounds. So its about 222 lbs at door. I was adviced to buy canopy sized 170 as a first canopy. Please check the size chart of Sabre2 @ PD. Its somewhere between Advance and Experienced. I might able to see that something, somewhere is wrong, cant I???? My instructor told me that PD size chatrs have only safe limits.......legal issues? Im sure they know how to fly them. But they might put lower limits avoiding further legal problems. I know in US anyone can be sued for anything.....

  8. I was adviced to do that in my student time, but high. I had SLs opened 1200m/1500m high. I played a lot with stalls. phoenix
  9. I had the same. 3 cutaways in 37 jumps or in 12month. I was told that there are jumpers who`s afraid of cutingaway because they have more than 500 jumps and no cutaways. Safe landings
  10. Is it our problem,. that manufacturers give ridiculous WL limits, because they said to afraid of legal consequences? Safe landings
  11. I had student jumps with all kinda square accuracy gear. I couldnt look on the ripcord on Zenith gears. I couldnt even see on the ground either. Safe landings.
  12. The usual problem with those russian stuff is the quality and the lack of TSO cert. Ive asked my instructor about a Hungarian gear. He answered:"fine if you dont jump more than 50 yearly, otherwise it will cost more in the long run than other " Safe landings
  13. Well done! I was told that the voices are starting to wishper round 3rd or 6th jump. The first jump is totaly blind. Safe landings
  14. Wait! Just time can heal broken wings. You should be able to handle that wingload with your level of experience. A bigger canopy wont make your arm heal faster. Safe landings
  15. I have a Pro-Track. I use to set first ring at breakoff or +200m of the 2nd call, 3rd call is 600m. I always use visual altimeter to check my altitude. Unfortunately Ive heard the 3rd call, I had no dubt what to do. Safe landings
  16. In C-206 we dont use seatbelt and static line students are hooked up on boarding. In C-208 Caravan we opened seatbelts before we got the drop altitude. phoenix
  17. I short, if you cannot open your main, because stuck handle, you dont have to cutaway, just open reserve. phoenix
  18. Was it a PC or a spring loaded? Using a non sping loaded PC require stable exit position. If you are not stable and you still have some little time, stabilize and open. If its spring loaded you have bigger chance to have a clean deployment from unstable position. Safe landings
  19. I dont think that a good idea. Why dont you force CRW jumps in this way? Most of the people dont have enough CRW experience! You couldve say that too. IMHO Landing with a small pocket rocket is not a basic skill and thats not for everyone. Its also insane to force low visibility or night jumps too. We suppose to fly only under VFR condition. Im against overregulation. Safe landings
  20. Those first jump arent terminal jumps. Students have enough time reserved for emergency procedures. On the other hand thats one way to prevent offDZ landings. They have not much canopy control experience and they usually have radio control too. Safe landings.
  21. Just one question: How can a passanger decide when to pull? No alimeter, no experience.... Safe landings.
  22. Jeje, because with those gears we arent using spring loaded PC nowadays :). Safe landings.
  23. I agree. If someone is violating one or more rule he/she may violate the nextone too. IMHO skydiving can be safe with the current set of rules. Safe landings.
