So lets not forget, currently the world population is around 6,610,245,606, now of that 2,039 million believe in the same God as you, which is about 32% of the global population. Therefore as we stand today a Massive 4.6 BILLION (approx) people of the current population are Hell bound.... Not at all, I’m afraid that you can’t just simply dismiss it that easily, Christianity makes a claim that is completely unsupported by any evidence whatsoever. Therefore any rationale, logical, educated individual who challenges it can only but come up with one outcome. And besides are you telling me that 1.2 Billion Muslims have got it wrong? And you have got it right… oh please… Now ill admit this is as of today, now if someone digs up the Holy Grail, or Noahs Ark tomorrow then of course we might be looking at a different outcome, but im afraid as we stand today in August 2007, Christianity does not stand up to being challenged, that is simply FACT, end of story…. This is a recent post that appeared on the The JREF web site. [I][sic]“I'm 32 years old and have believed in some form of fundamental Christianity my entire life. I've always considered myself a rational/objective person, yet for all these years, my beliefs in an “after-life” were stronger than ever, and I simply accepted things such as Jonah surviving his dubious swallowed-by-a-fish experience. I have endured any past tribulation through reasoning, "God 'has my back'” and is somehow using this adversity to “make me stronger,” and “I can get through anything in this life because it's only temporary and in the end, eternal bliss awaits me.” I thought that, like other Christians, I had effectively already won the "after-life lottery." Now I know my winning ticket is worthless. I had been duped, and worse, my life-sustaining purpose crutch had been yanked out from under me. Side note: I truly believe that if you could convince Christians in the USA that there was no Jesus/God, there would be a major, depression-laden backlash. I have sought medical treatment. Ironically, the two psychiatrists and three psychologists I have seen, sincerely believe that a belief in a “higher-power” is essential to recovery. Further, they have all suggested, or flat out told me, that “my lack of faith” could be the cause of my depression. And the psychiatrists have also loaded me up with a litany of pills – none of which have worked. It's as though my psyche “can't handle the truth,” and I've even taken a leave of absence from my job. FYI – I live in a suburb of Houston where, generally speaking, if you aren't some sort of Christian, you'd be better off having leprosy, and Rick Warren is the next best thing to the Messiah himself." [/I] I thought that it raised a very interesting point in that are we as a species now so dependant on belief in an almighty being that this need has become biologically ingrained in most of us, and the removal of this belief if not done at an early age, can cause clinical depression. Now im sure the likes of Paj and Mockingbird will simply dismiss this as work of the devil, but if possible can we discuss this with a level or reality and rationale. Is religion a drug? And it would seem that no one has ever uncovered any drawings or paintings of Him made while He was alive. I care because religion does nothing to progress humanity, in fact it hinders us as race and keeps us grounded in prehistoric beliefs.. Religion did not put a man on the moon, it did not find cures for millions of diseases (and im still amazed that people use the term “intelligent design”) religion did not get us out of the stone age and into an industrialised modern world, religion does nothing to progress the understanding of the universe and the world around us. Religion breed’s ignorance and intolerance, it creates suffering and abuse. Yes we can point to various religious charities that help the homeless, or the poor, and we all know someone who finds life that little bit easier with the social support that can come from religious groups, but really all of these can be accomplished with out religion.. Religion is nothing more then a wart on the arse of humanity, and the sooner that we evolve from needing this blind belief in various god and spirits the better we will all be. Like I said before religion does nothing but make you ignorant and dangerous.. Why would L&B not make the Optima waterproof in the first place... All I can add is that I have been using a neptune for at least a year now, and it has worked fine.
