  1. I ordered my RDS from Deepseed When you order it you just send them the standard slider measurements, wait a couple of weeks and you have a nice new RDS. ----------------------------------------------------------- --+ There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.. --+
  2. my two cents... I recently installed a RDS system on my Xaos, main reason was for the upcoming Australian Canopy Nationals. I have also now done a bunch of terminal jumps with just the removable Slider, without the d-bag attached, and I have decided to keep it this way. First thing I noticed is that the removable slider actually slowed my openings, im not sure if this is particular to my slider (which is actually slightly smaller then the original slider), or common with removable sliders. Removing the slider once deployed is super easy and once chest strap is loosened I stuff it inside my jump suit, then I have to pull the grommets down over the toggles and dive loops, but all up it is still easier and quicker then stowing my old slider. I guess the only negative side is that the time you save under canopy is gone when you add the additional time to re-attach it, however after about 20 – 30 pack jobs, that time is very small. Yes there is the risk of connecting it incorrectly, but if you ensure you check it once attached errors are easily noticeable, it really isn’t that complicated. So in conclusion I love my removable slider, no snapping bands, flapping material round my ears, better visibility, and no risk of hang ups if you chop. So unless someone has a good reason I don’t know why you wouldn’t use one. Dave, can you elaborate on what you see as the "extra" problems ? as the only one I see if if you attached it incorrectly.. ----------------------------------------------------------- --+ There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.. --+
  3. Either a force unknown to science, or science doesn't understand one or more of the four known forces as well as it thinks it does. As for the claim that "educated" people would not believe in astrology--education is generally a tool used to control and limit people's thought processes, not to enlighten them. Ok good, now where getting somewhere.. Ok so lets take a closer look at the 4 known forces, which I must add that we do know an incredible ammount about. In fact we know enough about certain key properties that we can rule out their use in astrology. (I posted a link earlier to Phil Plaits site badastronomy.com, which does a much better job the me in explaining this) but anyway…… 1. Gravity. – The gravity of an object is subject to two things, its mass and its distance. The further the object the less the effects of gravity, the larger the object the greater the effects. So the when we look at the universe, the effect of the moons gravity on the Earth is the strongest, and all the other planets are a mere fraction. Therefore the Moon should dominate all other planets combined when it comes to astrology, but it doesn’t. 2. Electromagnetism – EM depends on two things also, electric charge and again distance. The electric charge comes from charged particles, electrons and protons. The problem here for EM is that most planets are electrically neutral. Planets like Jupiter have “magnetic fields”, and Jupiter’s is immense, but because it is so far away it has no effect on us. Our sun is by far the largest emitter of EM in out universe, its effects can be measured on earth. So the Sun should be source of all astrological effects on us, but again its not. Astrologers still claim the other planets have a larger if not equal share of the “astrological effect on us”. 3. Strong Force - This force binds neutrons and protons together in the cores of atoms and is a short range force, it weakens so rapidly with distance that it's essentially gone by the time you're a few billionths of a meter from the source! 4. Weak Force - This causes Beta decay (the conversion of a neutron to a proton, an electron and an antineutrino. It has a similar range as the Strong force. So with confidence, and with known facts we can say that if there is any effect on us from the planets it is with out doubt none of the known forces causing it. So that leaves “Force unknown to science”…. Know to the big problem with this theory (and there are many problems) but lets focus on one, is that according to astrologers whatever this force is it is not effected by distance. So today “Astronomers” have discovered over 150 planets orbiting other stars, not to mention the millions and millions of undiscovered planets. So why aren’t these included by astrologers??? Look at it the other way, why are astrologers not discovering planets? Surely their effects must show up in their data??????? So we have shown that it can be neither a known force or an unknown force that causes the astrological effects that are claimed.. so what does that leave…..NOTHING ----------------------------------------------------------- --+ There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.. --+
  4. I find it extremely hard to believe that any educated person would believe astrology. Siva Ganesha let me ask you this, as you seem to believe this Astrology woo woo.. What force is it that the planets use influence us?? Now you might at first think this is a tricky question, but its not really, there are 5 possible answers here.. Either it’s the 4 known forces. 1 Gravity 2 electromagnetism 3 strong force 4 weak force Or its a “Force unknown to science” Now first off we can categorically say and prove beyond doubt that it is none of the 4 known forces. So that leaves “Force Unknown to Science” Would you agree?? ----------------------------------------------------------- --+ There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.. --+

  9. So where do animals get there morality from, last time I was at the zoo I didnt notice any of the tigers reading the bible!! Now animals have morals????? It over now We have seen animals defend each other from a common enemy and join together in running down prey for a common meal. There is a courting time for animals, there is a mating time, and there is a time however brief when the animal family of male, female and young exist. All this happened to the animals without God. Why should man have to receive a revelation before he could reach the moral stage of the higher animal life ----------------------------------------------------------- --+ There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.. --+

  11. I guess they could have called it the red dot. Hmmm.... When I no nothing about a subject I often find it helpful to do a little research before making a statement, that way I don’t look stupid… [A]ccording to the American Red Cross website, it was “n honor of the Swiss ... [that] the symbol of a red cross on a white background (the reverse of the Swiss flag) was identified as a protective emblem in conflict areas.” While the cross on the Swiss flag originated in the 1200s from “a symbol of the Christian faith,” according to the Swiss Embassy in the United States, the Red Cross makes no mention of Christianity as a reason for adopting the symbol. . ----------------------------------------------------------- --+ There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.. --+
  12. Ermm what are you actually trying to say? That belief in God (your god) is essential for morality or that only for some people? But you agree that for most people religious dogma is not required for morality? Is that correct? ----------------------------------------------------------- --+ There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.. --+
  13. What utter utter uneducated rubbish,,.,,,, First you couldn’t be more wrong; even if you tried… it has nothing to do with morality… in fact I tell you what, point me to a study (peer reviewed of course) that shows Atheist and Agnostics behave any less morally the religious believers.. WHERE did I speak of either of these??? Since us Atheist lack any morale compass, then we would just ignore the drowning child, or fallen elderly person!!!!!!Again, I am not speaking of Atheists for Christ sake. Get a grip. I was speaking only of activists in the governement sense. shhheeeesh Also lets just for a moment ignore the inconvenient fact that religion has led people to commit a long litany of horrendous crimes from God’s command to Moses to slaughter the Midianites, men, women, boys and non-virginal girls, through the Crusades, the Inquisition, the Thirty Years War, innumerable conflicts between Sunni and Shiite moslems, and terrorists who blow themselves up in the confident belief that they are going straight to paradise. Is this the morale code that we should teach our children?? Are you so insecure in your position you have to go into this crap and say things I never spoke of? Also it is shown that certain elements of morality are universal across all religious belief systems with doctrinal differences, including cultures such as China where philosophical outlooks are more prevalent then religion. One view is that a divine creator handed us the universal bits at the moment of creation. The alternative, consistent with the facts of biology and geology, is that we have evolved, over millions of years, a moral faculty that generates intuitions about right and wrong. While this may be true once again this is not even close to my point Any way back to the initial point, Religious fanaticism in all its forms leads inevitably to bigotry, hatred, and, too often, violent confrontations. That foremost is the main reason I would like to see it removed. Fanaticism comes from both sides. Is it to that that I speak. Activits use the courts to push thier point of view. Why are they so insecure? Why do they want to change years of tradition? Nothing was evolving the other way now it has turned into those that do believe having to defend themselves from the radicals who want no reference at all. Again, why? Humanity's next leap will be when we rid ourselves of god, entirely. If Marx is hated, especially today, for anything at all, it may be because he was willing to take the one step toward human intellectual evolution by writing, "Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people."Oh, now I get it. bye So I think we all need to ponder for a moment and follow John lennon wise advise… “Imagine there's no heaven It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people Living for today” Oh how painfull can this be... ok keep it simle this time.. you indicated that your belief is that people want to try and get rid of religion because then we will have no morality issues and we can all do what we want. This indicates that you seem to believe morality and religion are somewhat hand in hand... I simple stated and showed you that this is crap... we can all live quite morally without some all seeing skygod watching us..... ----------------------------------------------------------- --+ There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.. --+

  15. Secular charity is everywhere. Secular groups do a great deal of work around the world and even in your own hometown. Unlike religous charities, they do not do the work to garner points from a "God" to someday trade in for admission to some kind of invisible kingdom in the sky but, because it is the right thing to do. They focus soley on the work and not on converting the "heathens". 18. Ah but the point you miss is that im sure your dad would have a legitimate business, a business that could be proven to be real and exist, a business that people could see, touch talk to and get a response… there would a record of the business with the IRS and by all accounts you could prove you dads business to be real, and with this no-doubt legal.. However if you had no evidence what so ever to demonstrate this business was real and legal then surely you would not have a problem with “Larry”… ----------------------------------------------------------- --+ There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.. --+
  19. Their their Personally (and as a parent) I think the involuntary indoctrination of children in to any of the many religious belief systems is nothing short of disgusting.. WE don’t impose our political views on our children because we know they are to young to understand.. Yet people like yourself are quite happy to indoctrinate your children into your religion. You shield them for any material that confronts, or challenges your chosen belief system, and therefore remove any critical thinking that your child might develop. You say Maybe no place in your life, but why not let your children make up their own mind…. At what age did your children make their decision to become Christians?? ----------------------------------------------------------- --+ There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.. --+

  21. Thank you… Lots of things, im naturally quite inquisitive and find the topic of belief systems and religion / the supernatural quite fascinating… Fascinating in the way that SO many people believe in the supernatural despite the absolute and overwhelming lack of evidence to support it.. Why is this… is it in our DNA?? Are we as a race that desperate for there to be “something else” out there, a after life, a parallel universe.. Anyway Back to Adam and Eve…. What evidence do you have to show that they existed??? Please do not attempt to tell us that we are all ancestors of a single pair of Homosapiens, as that is quite absurd. Ok so lets look at it another way, basic mathematical reasoning, based on generation times and population sizes, tells us that humanity's most recent common female & male ancestress lived well before the biblical Adam & Eve supposedly did, or before the biblical creation. That in sufficient in itself to disprove the biblical tale of Adam and Eve, and thus the myth of the “original sin” and therefore prove yet again the Christian story of Christ is a MYTH… ----------------------------------------------------------- --+ There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.. --+
  22. Utter rubbish, let me “adequately” deal with the issue of sin… So according to the Christianity’s version of “original sin” we are all born with the hereditary stain of sin due to the belief that we are descendants of Adam, who committed the first sin by eating the fruit of the forbidden tree. Now God had said, 'you shall not eat from it or touch it, or you will die.'" (Genesis 3:3) So, the original sin was disobedience, mistrust, and disloyalty against God. Now this is the fundamental underpinning of particularly the Christian dogma, as story is that Christ son of god came to earth and died to free us from this sin, so without Adam and Eve and the original sin, then the story of Christ is pointless and meaningless, and Christianity is nothing more than a fable… Oh dear………. So, God creates Adam and Eve, he creates them without knowledge of good or evil, right or wrong. He pits them in a Garden, and creates a tree whose fruit gives them the Knowledge of Good and Evil (probably through some god magic). God tells them not to eat the fruit or they will DIE… Now, as Adam and Eve don't have the faintest idea of right and wrong, they don't know it's a Bad Idea to disobey God .The only way they can gain this knowledge is by.... Eating from the Tree! To make matter worse, Adam and Eve were threatened with the punishment of death. How can this be any sort of threat? There was no death in The Garden - they had never witnessed it, and would probably have a hard time grasping the concept anyway. So, they were told not to do something (and had no way of knowing that disobedience was bad), otherwise something would happen to them (and they had no idea what that was, or whether it was a good or bad thing to happen anyway).. "We'll die? What does that mean? Maybe it's fun!" Now on top off all that we know that Adam and Eve never existed, and that we are not all descendants of them, (lets ignore that the burden of proof is with those that assert they were real, currently we are all waiting still for this proof). We know this because of real evidence, this from multiple lines of evidence from biology and palaeontology which provides an altogether different picture of human origins, namely our arising from a common evolutionary ancestor dating back around 7 million years or so, which gave rise to two lineages - one lineage producing the chimpanzees and bonobos, the other giving rise to the hominids including us. As well as the fossil record, which contains numerous fossil hominids. Now since that story is invalid, the idea that Jesus died in order to forgive us for their "Original sin" is laughable, because by all accounts this sin event never took place, and therefore the bible and the fables in it are just that, fables.. ----------------------------------------------------------- --+ There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.. --+
