  1. I want my life to go back to the way it was before 9/26/05.
  2. I have a Dell. I bought it about 2 years ago. Within a week of when I received it (sooner than I expected I might add), the pc became consumed with spyware. I called Dell support on the phone immediatedly and their techs walked me through uninstalling everything they had build and then reinstalling everything. I still have my pc today (of course) and they were so extremely helpful. It was a hugh, time consuming ordeal but their tech stayed with me, talking me through it for hours. I'm happy with my purchase.
  3. I truely hate to see reports like that. I'm a new nursing student in Central Florida and my first 3 clinical days are at a nursing home. I've had both good and bad experiences at a nursing home. The first time I tried nursing school, the nursing home rotation was miserable for me. I just did my first clinical rotation last Tuesday in a nursing home that is nicer than my own home. Matter of fact, I refer to it as a "resort". It doesn't smell, they don't use restraints and their patients are treated with dignity and respect. I wonder if the reason nursing homes exhibit such a slack in what may be considered respectibility or an acceptible standard of living is that there is no requirement that a nursing home be certified by the same accredidation associations as the hospitals have to be to continue to recieve medicare and so forth? The nursing home I'm lucky enough to get to visit for three weeks is accredidated and after seeing the living conditions with my own eyes, I would recommend checking for such credentials before making any decisions. The vast majority are a depressing, smelly, pit stop between here and there.
  4. Most definitely!! I think it may be because I took too long to grow up...wait a minute...I don't wanna grow up
  5. Comin from the SO of a new tandem instructor... It's a great second job but don't quit your day job. It's the the most strict "weather dependant" job he's ever had (and trust me, we've had our bouts with weather dependant jobs). It's great to like to be at work and like the people you're working with but it's been my experience that very few people make it comfortably skydiving for a living.
  6. I have a dream...one day, I'm gonna set up procrastinators anonomous (I just haven't got around to it yet).
  7. From my all time favorite episode with Homer and the Guatemalan insanity pepper chili cook off... Sun up, sun down Sun up, sun down....(Sun breaks on the ground)Doh!!!
  8. WOW Dude (Paige sighs in dreamy awe). If you're as cool as you obviously think you are, I mean, someone with your HUMBLE attitude and all, you must be somethin else. I, too, cannot imagine why you've not been invited to any naked pool parties. *** 18. Being asked to get inside a hot tub with Jerry Korshak , two other naked dudes and one girl, who is not single......(I was asked to do so last year.) __________________________________________________ With your attitude, You should be happy to be invited into ANYbody's hot tub.
  9. Dropzone Titantic National Lampoon's Vacation movies but European Vacation is my very favorite Finding Nemo and Pet Cemetery (or any of Steven King's movies, too many to list)
  10. When I did my first tamdem at Skydive City in May of '99, TK showed me the handle and said if I haven't done anything by 5000 feet, pull this. I'm not saying in the 'sensory overload' state that my brain was in at pull time (or for that whole skydive for that matter) on my first tamdem that I would have been able to react but I was shown where the handle was and told what to do. Can't say I've ever heard of a TM passing out though - that would suck.

    Hey...

    WWHHHHAAAAT Who's number 1??????
  12. Bill, I never took you as the quiet type, matter of fact, I'm pretty sure you have something to say about anything and everything (educated of course). BTW, where are you when the shirts go flyin'? Can't say I remember seein you at the bar.
  13. You notice the first character trait I mentioned is OUTSPOKEN right?
  14. Ahhh, a guy with morals. I hate to say this, but you sound like one of those guys that is looking too hard. Have fun dude. Why does showing your tits have to say something about a girls confidence? If it says anything, it says that the girl is confident that her body is good enough to show. Believe me, showing tits has nothing to do with getting a guy. I don't show my tits to get a guy. I show my tits (what little I have) JUST BECAUSE (being a little tipsy don't hurt either ). I've divorced a doormat. Anything you want honey, I'll be home when I get there...that's fine honey..uuuggghhhh!! How is it that no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get rid of him?? My perfect guy is outspoken, humorous, intelligent, independent (except for depending on me), has a sense of direction, supportive (in his own way) and funloving (and he has a short fuse but noone's perfect).
  15. ...A couple of years ago, she took too much of a drug called Welbutrin which caused a seizure... That's scary. I'm pretty familiar with Welbutrin. I was first introduced to it when I tried to quite smoking because it is a substitute for Zyban. My son has also taken it for ADHD. I do know that it mentions that it may cause seizures and recommends that if you're susceptible not to take it. Fortunately, it hasn't and didn't effect us that way. I wonder if she has an underlying condition that made her susceptible to seizures anyway.?. I would DEFINITELY go to the dr immediately. Good luck and I hope things don't get worse, which they could if you don't get control of this condition as soon as possible.
  16. "...made my first biplane and downplane today ..." *** BEEEEERRRR!! Quote 0:0:0 No jumping in Zhills Sunday. First it was foggy then it was low clouds and as we were waiting for the WIND to blow the clouds out, anyway you get the picture. An I was soooo pumped to get to to the 4way scrambles.
  17. Both of my grandfathers died within about a month of each other last year, one of them in Feb the other in March. Before then, I had never dealt with a death in my family. My first grandfather that died had been slipping away for probably 6 months. I wasn't close to him at all. What a contrary old man he was and had been for YEARS (or at least for as long as I can remember). When he was in hospice, I went to him and said my goodbyes but I didn't attend his funeral. I kind of felt guilty because of my lack of feelings for this happening. I just felt weird. My second grandfather's death was a surprise. I'm sitting at home having a few beers and I get a phone call from my Dad with the bad news. This one floored me. When I went to college in '87 I lived with my grandparents (for as long as I could take their curfews etc) and I was closer to them than I was to anyone else in my family. I had everything going thru my head but especially what will happen to my grandmother. For this one, we loaded up in the car and drove 10 hours to north AL to make his funeral. He was such a great man. It still makes me sad to think that I never got to tell him good bye. It has made it easier for me to talk to my grandmother and remember him and how good he always was.
  18. Could someone tell me if it would be overkill to download a2 personal or a2 free since I've recently downloaded Ad-aware and Spybot. I'm a touch paranoid since I had to rebuild my 2 week old computer. I have Norton's and more than once tonight I've received an alert box saying something about a Backdoor/Trojan trying attack me. Thanks...............
  19. I would have never thought to jump out of a plane if it weren't for my Randy. I have a terrible fear of heights and until you actually experience skydiving you have no clue that the two have nothing to do with each other. It still took him about 3 months to get me in the air. Even though it took someone else to get me started, all it took was that first leap and it became all about me. No turning back now
  20. My Honey and his family have coined me a "blind faither" for my beliefs. I was raised in a Baptist church. I have found that religion is not high on many skydiver's lists. I voice my opinion when religious discussions surface and will gladly debate the existence of God and Christ as more than historical figures but I don't find it necessary to be over bearing or preach to anyone. I can say that I don't appreciate "God bashing" jokes and even though my Honey is not religious he's quick to let anyone that may start such a conversation know that they're barking up the wrong tree with me.
  21. The guy at Dell said to put the System Restore Disk in the CD drive and follow the directions and that will take care of all your problems." *** ????? I just got a Dell 2 weeks ago and the Win32 virus was found in 2 files and every time I ran the McAfee virus scan, it found 10-20 "potentially unwanted programs". It turned out that the computer was full of spyware and needed to be wiped clean and rebuilt. This guy walked me thru taking everything out and stayed on the phone with me and went step by step on how to reinstall Window XP operating system. We got to a point that popped up a side window stating it was going to take 39 min to finish the installation and he said a different tech would call back in 30 min to an hour to help reinstall the software that had been included, and they did just that. It took literally ALL DAY (since I am not a computer tech) and I felt very nervous when my brand new computer of 2 weeks was sitting there with nothing on it before we started the reinstallation process and Dell was very reassurring and overall very, very helpful.
  22. 5 years Thursday. With this one, I broke my record of getting board at 3 years. I always said when I found someone that could get me over that, he'd be the one
  23. Isn't that a distant memory for you Marc, I mean what it smells like at 10000 feet
  24. I just got a new Dell computer 2 weeks ago and I had to rebuild the thing from scratch yesterday because of spyware. I set my home page on Google and somehow, when I opened internet explorer, it would do one of two things (1) open to Google and simutaneously open another window with something called ZestyFind as the home page or (2) remove Google altogether as the home page and replace it with ZestyFind as the home page. Things were downloaded onto my computer that I did not even open, I guess thru pop ups or something. It was an absolute nightmare. My computer came with McAfee as the virus software. I utilized it and performed a scan and it found the Win32 virus in two folders and every time I scanned the pc, it found potentially unwanted programs (to the count of around 20 or so each time) that were all titled Adware something. Smartpops.com had downloaded itself along with something called ClipGenie and some kind of Downloadware. When I rebuilt the pc, I installed Norton's instead of McAfee's and I've got the setting on super paranoid to warn me if anything tries to get to the computer. I was sitting here reading the forums a minute ago and Norton's detected a Trojan trying to get in. Does anyone recommend anything to go with Norton's to protect against spyware intrusions? Dell told me that Adware was questionable, matter a fact, all the Adware files that had been inadvertantly installed into my computer was half the reason that the tech decided that the computer needed to be wiped clean and reinstalled.
