I have not seen that one, however, Oscar Oscowski (sp) from West Point VA, was at the 97 Beach Boogie and shot video of 2 pond swoops gone wrong and set it all to Swan Lake. It was by far the funniest video I think I have ever watched. Back then, pond swooping was not something people did. I went and swooped the pond at our condo and then someone else (who I will allow to remain nameless) tried to follow my successful swoop. As a DZO, I on more than one occassion, called the parents of newer jumpers and made that recommendation. I also had a rule, AAD mandatory until D lic. As a parent, none of my children (3 of 4 have jumped) ever jumped without an AAD. I started jumping with an AAD in '94, never went without one once I started wearing one.

Slow down... Learn to skydive, then worry about a career in the sport. Tandem Masters can be worked to the point of hating the sport in some situations. Take the time to enjoy some fun jumps, maybe a comp or two, how 'bout a boogie along the way. Talk to the full-time people you meet and see if it fits what you want your life-style to be. Then start thinking about the full-time side of it. Skydiving can be soooo much fum, but it can get lost in soooo much work... Best of luck and be safe!

The harvest moon boogies were the best. I found your dropzone in the dz directory coming home from vacation in N.C. and just wanting to find a place to jump on the way home. I made 2 jumps and the second was sunset. You met we with a beer in the landing area and I knew I had found my second home. I brought the bomb squad up for the HMB a couple months later and you guys put on a great boogie. That's when I met Spence and was introduced to the electric 8-way (and moonshine)I think we came back 5 more years before Jack closed shop. Every year was bigger and better. I sure do miss that boogie. *** You weren't special, I met everybody in the landing area with a beer!!! Yeah, St. George and HMB...Maybe Spence should give it a try!!
