I talked to Kim today, and the guys at GAP have about 3800 jumps on a B units, and Majik has about 1000 jumps on the B units. No problems. I've got 150 on my B unit. There are several at my DZ, no problems. I have left my rig ,which has a Vigil in it, in an air-conditioned, dehumidified room overnight and then drug it around on the carpet the next day. I wouldn't downsize right now. 100 jumps on a canopy when you've only got 115 jumps is not really enough to know how to get the max out of the canopy. I see that you're not even loading that canopy at 1.0, how much do you weigh? You're what, 125lbs?? If that is your true wingloading then you'd probably be ok to downsize HOWEVER I wouldn't change wing shape and downsize at the same time, ie get something elipitical in a 150. I'd ask your "canopy mentors" what they think of your downsize. Also I'd look at the post in Incidents about the 300 jump guy. Any tail can be a hazard as an Otter about two weeks ago had a tail strike (on the horizontal stab) No injuries fortunately. Why didn't you get the Optik? Anyways I'd put a PC style camera on the side with a bonehead box. With the flat-topper you can put the 35mm on a goldmember mount, then get a remote flash shoe to mount the flash. I'd get some help doing the flash. Bonehead's boxes are the industry's top box (IMHO). As far as cameras I'd look at Sony's PC-105, HC 20,30,40 series. I'd get some hands on advice from someone who has mounted two 35mm before you do it. And as AggieDave said I wouldn't use that helmet for two stills. Ok, I guess the best thing to do is ask our own BMCI , SkyMonkeyOne what his opinion is. Or better yet why doesn't someone ask Jari? On a technical side of things, it is probably due to the fact if you do have a lazy pull and the PC gets in your burble, it might cause problems. I'm sure you can get enough forward speed to get it out of your burble but do you really want to doing that at pull time? I have about 1000 jumps with a pull-out. It's a really secure feeling knowing that the only way to get your container open is by you pulling, and the no horseshoe thing is pretty nice. However check, re-check and check again to make sure the PC's cocked. I've had two packers pack me totals with an un-cocked PC. There was another one where I pulled the dbag out of the container and it finally opened. Thoes were all on a Javelin. When I started jumping a Vector, I went back to the BOC. I was also thinking of doing some Birdman stuff and you can't with a pull-out. However the new Spandura BOC is really snug and I don't think you'd have any problems with it. Also if you do go pullout, remember to size the container a slight bigger since you'll be packing the PC/bridle inside. my .02 ______________________________________________ - Does this small canopy make my balls look big? - J.
