  1. I want a replacement for my CX7 so probably will have one before april. Wonder if its the same sensor as the MV1. Too bad cameras never come out when I need one. Off to fry's, I need a new one for my BH visit . Probably would be bad to go in there with a hacked CX7. HYPOXIC
  2. Looks pretty snazy. The US model is the CX100 MSRP $599. Cool thing is it's smaller than the PC1000. Check it: CX100: 2 1/4 x 2 3/8 x 4 1/2 inch (55 x 60 x 114mm) PC1000: 2.1 X 4 X 4.6 And unless Sony did something funky, it has the: Audio/Video Remote Terminal[ : Video / S Video / Audio / Component Out / Remote Speaking of which, almost seems like its missing a infrared remote control, maybe I'm misreading the specs. I'm actually kinda interested in the Webbie HD for mounting on struts, feet, bedroom posts, everywhere. Hell for $199 and av/r control; probably not made by Sony but seems pretty much a disposible camera. And yes, something is wrong with me, I'm @ home looking at cameras on a Friday night... Geez.. HYPOXIC
  3. Whoops they looked high today... Hey anyone have an updated class list? The one online looked out of date. HYPOXIC
  4. See yah there!#@!#!@ DJ Moo is in the house, I'm stoked! oh and the jumps are not all that bad either :-) HYPOXIC
  5. Cool, was he able to do the mod without making it error out? HYPOXIC
  6. I have to get the footage from the second day, our belly skills got dope after the halloween party festivities... HYPOXIC
  7. It's about time, only took a 1000 or so skydives ;-) and its still not in the air. thx Cynthia Currie for the photo (might as well post her too) HYPOXIC
  8. Of course the 50D is almost out, but this seemed like a a decent deal to me :-) BH 40D $999 HYPOXIC
  9. man 2000ft? @ eloy? Must have pissed burner off or took forever to exit. Of course maybe because I always bring boobies I get extra altitude... The world may never know... Favorite Balloon Jump Video HYPOXIC
  10. Thx Spot. I will post the others eventually, I just have a heart for VFS (freefly is a different event). These introductions where played while the winners walked onto the award stage during nationals. Here is the compilation order VFS Advanced --------------- Elsinore Jedi Swingline Team Dysfunction Team Dysfunction Round VFS Open --------------- Deland Hybrid XP Mandrin Arizona Arsenal Arizona Arsenal Round Guess who's back????? (sorry had to) 100% Eloy Homegrown! HYPOXIC
  11. I find for weekend to weekend usage just something like: Lowe Pro Bags works the best. I just clip the helmets to the bag or carry them. I end up carrying an array of different equipment each weekend so pelican cases would be more of a nuisance. They just seem a little over kill to me unless you are on a plane every weekend, like to look elite, or keep leaving your gear outside... (hmmm wait a minute (NOTE: An XTI may work perfectly after leaving it out in the sprinklers all night, at least mine did)) HYPOXIC
  12. Day one footage... Freefliers on their belly aka 20way round attempt Day 2 looked cleaner and we briefly built a 17way Thx to Greg Gasson for his patience and outside footage. And of course Amy who is always a blast to jump with and a bad ass organizer HYPOXIC
  13. It's a Raynox HD-5050PRO It's kinda overkill for that small of lens but I had it lying around. The Raynox comes with step up/down rings to fit the tapped lens fitting on the cookie box. The HD-3032PRO is the .3 style. HYPOXIC
  14. These cameras take 6 seconds or longer to boot up. They standbye after 5minutes of inactivity. If we're holding, I'll start recording briefly to ping the camera. On the ground it takes a second to delete these pulses, or just film your subject for a moment and leave it in ;-) HYPOXIC
  15. You can use a raynox and use a step down ring and zoom in a tad. I always forget the zooming part, but it works and that is what I've been using. HYPOXIC
  16. Promised some pictures of the cutout... I had my buddy machine it out for me, but I would believe a dremel, steady hand and some time could bring the similar results. Just make sure to take out the TG1 first.... HYPOXIC
  17. A "minor" modification to the box by dremeling out an opening for the LCD makes this whole setup so much more barable. Someone that has more free time than me may be able to make a quick door to the LCD so that it gets protected. In the chaos of skydiving, this may not be such a bad idea. I have not had a chance to jump it much since I had it cut out since I ruined my shoulder on this jump: Trunk goes Crash I'll post pictures when I get around to it... -Trunk HYPOXIC
  18. I machined the box so that the strap would come out side of the box and then you can gaffer or use a snap clip to seat it. I'd rather cut it off if you are using the camera for serious skydiving vids. HYPOXIC
  19. I wrote this up a while back as a synopis. Ring Sight Fundamentals Think people pretty much covered everything that is on there though. IMHO, start off with a cross and then when/if you start shooting stills from a far distance or video without a wide angle lens go over to a concentric. HYPOXIC
  20. Matt, PM message me or email us for a replacement. It has to do with a focus override bit that Sony has in their newest protocol. When set and a lens screwed on, it goes to a preset focus. Sorry that you got a unit that some how slipped by but we will replace it right away. This is different than the zoom preset. -Trunk HYPOXIC
  21. Working really, really hard here... BTW, someone borrowed my banner, if anyone finds it please return it to me, its my only one and they are damn pricey.... HYPOXIC
  22. Amy, Sign me up (wait I'm not following instructions like always).... Ilea you have to come.... Oh and guess who's been working on his belly skills... no more red rover, red rover let Trunk come over ;-) HYPOXIC
  23. Found out the downside to AVCHD this weekend. They happen to buffer the stream, compress it and then write it to the card. So what does this mean? Say you decide to "swoop the pond" and instead toe pick and are now a human skipping stone supermanning across the water only to somehow submerge your relatively new TG1 in murky AZ stagnant 18inches of water. Waddling out of the water, you immediately pop out the battery, have someone hose you down, pop your reserve, take apart the camera, blow compress air into it, turn it on a presto it works... (edit: btw, did not see sony's names on the boards) However, and I digress, all you have is your setup to the pond :-( No big splash, how lame is that??? IMHO, If your going to F'up and have your blackbox recording, might as well have it capture the carnage... Guess gone now are the days of seeing your helmet impact into the ground when it accidently falls off in freefall or those big spashes we all love to cringe at.... so sad. And yes the TG1 still works, but then again, I immediately took out the battery, took it apart and got all the water out.... -Trunk HYPOXIC
  24. More or less saying that since its, imho, a screw around camera and not something like the HC-5 where I would sell the footage. It's kinda a bitch to show the footage, focus the camera, preview in the plane, etc. It does not seem like a workhorse like other cameras in Sony's line. HYPOXIC
  25. Odd loop, but its a timing thing... MOAB boogie->Grand Canyon->Vegas->Chick's Rocks Boogie->Perris->San Diego->USPA Nationals (Skydive AZ) HYPOXIC
