That's an opinion..........an opinion that anyone is free to have.......that's what is great about this thing called life.

There is one book that has convinced most of all who read it to believe in the Bible and God's unchanged message and mission. This book is called "Hostage to the Devil" authored by Malachi Martin - a eminent theologian, premier authority on the Roman Catholic Church and former professor at the Vatican's Pontifical Biblical Institute. He has also authored several other national bestsellers to include "The Jesuits". Anyway, I can guarantee that nine out of ten people who read this book will have trouble sleeping. I was warned not to read it unless I was sure I could handle it. This book is NOT about phony possessions and exorcisms we see on TV and read about elsewhere or about mental illness as far as that goes.......there's a lot of phony crap out there......laughable crap at that. This book is an intimate, personal account of such things as mentioned above. Nonbelievers, I respectfully challenge you to obtain a copy of this book and read it. My wife is full of contradictions both real and perceived...........she contradicts herself all the time, but she is real and her primary purpose or mission in life remains unchanged. I can assure all she is real.

Serve dude.....you'll learn and experience things most don't. Remember this though...(sounding as if I'm contradicting myself)....especially if you're ever deployed...........it could cost you your marriage........it cost me my first.........neither a simple nor easy decision.

Tom - I went the "flat packing" route............the school didn't have a problem with that.

Have two teenagers.....the 18 year old one is out the house and the 16 year old remains.........no more.................I've done my thing.

Dude - whatever you decide to do or practice - will it help you in either a 2 on 1 or 3 on 1 street situation? It's an age old question I know, but there is still a great divide between the safe sport mentality and the required street survival mindset - huge difference..........this should be your guiding factor - reality - as it's quick, cold, brutal and is no respecter of persons.

Grappling one-on-one only - hands down. It's nothing for a one-on-one encounter to go to the ground. Two or more attackers, you're gonna get your ass handed to you unless your trained in some type striking "art" in a lot of cases......don't let anyone tell you any differently. How fast can you run lol. I was engage to my wife who witnessed this.......I was jumped by three guys outside a 7-11 about 2:30 in the morning on Jefferson Davis Hwy in Richmond, VA. after having closed down a bar (for once I was glad I wasn't drunk).......I won't about to go to the ground....and I didn't.......pricks got what they deserved......well two of them anyway. Anyone here familiar with JD Hwy can tell you.....it's not a nice place lol. Don't restrict yourself in studying "arts" styles/systems........definately grappling for 1-on-1 encounters.........striking arts for multiple assholes. It goes without saying, the ultimate victory would be able to walk away or avoid if at all possible.......if not................ BTW, these days, it doesn't hurt to pack (legally) either...........I do. EDITED TO ADD: The JD 7-11 incident could have been avoided entirely if I hadn't been so immature and kept my mouth shut.

I'll wear a 1/2 helmet and a 3/4's open face helmet at times............picking out bugs from the grill afterwards. Other times, I'll wear a 3/4 helmet with a pull down full-face shield. Love the wind in face for the most part.
