  1. Anybody know if you can turn in photocopies of the P-card and the written test for USPA ratings? I'd hate to have to buy an IRM just for the few pages I have to send in for the tandem rating.. thanks,
  2. Looks like a pretty bad ass set of wings! Have you tried the cutaway system in the air? I saw someone cut their wings away on the ground in one and it didn't look like they could reach up much higher than with them on because the arms only opened up to about halfway up the bicep. Can you reach your toggles after cutting the wings away?

Jumping Strong with SET 400's. I don't pound them in hard or anything, it just seems like a good idea to protect your tailbone if you know you're going to be sliding in on your ass. Plus I thought it might help save the butt of my FF pants. I'm also hoping it makes sitting in the back of a 182 suck less.

Anybody else using something like this? I just ordered one. Seems like a good idea for butt sliding landings when you get the heavy tandems on no wind days. just wondered if anyone else had tried this. http://www.xsportsprotective.com/azzpad-tailbone-protector.html
  5. If the student pulls on the tandems, would that count as the PRCP?

  7. Think there's room for one more? I wonder if I could send one over to China and have them whip up a couple hundred copies or something? There's no patents on any of this stuff is there?
  8. I bet there are a LOT more than 200 active wingsuiters in the US. I would have guessed the number to be closer to a thousand. Unless there are way more wingsuiters in other countries than over here, how else could the market support the 8 or 9 manufacturers out there making wingsuits? It's hard to believe that many people would drop a grand or more on a wingsuit and not fly it.
  9. Thanks for posting this. #10 says "Correctly answered at least 80% of the questions on the USPA Tandem Instructor Final Examination." Are questions online somewhere? Is this something a course director could do over the phone/fax or do they have to watch you take the test?
  10. It should fit fine. Velo 96 is 340 cu. in. and Spectre 120 is 321 cu. in. (from Paragear's Canopy Comparison Chart).
  11. Why do you say that? USPA says 18 in '07. I can only remember 1 that was a wingsuiter, but 1 in 18 seems pretty high % wise. I doubt 1 in 18 skydives made in the US were ws. Probably more like one in every few hundred.
  12. Anybody know what kind of aircraft will be there? And what does the $45 registration fee get you? Any beer, food, t-shirt..?
  13. Has anyone else had any experience with this stuff? I tried it for the first time last weekend. Pretty wild experience. I'm curious about the long term affects of this stuff on your body/mind. Any experienced diviner's sage smokers or growers around here?
  14. What's disturbing is hearing that there are skydivers out there that think ANY of the responsibility lies with someone other than the person jumping.
  15. Looks like Nick came up with his own SM1 knock off . From the EG wingsuits website: He says he'll have a demo at the Clewiston boogie. Has anyone seen it yet? Or seen pics of it?
  16. I added my 2 buddies from up here and I added Gay Nick for him since he's banned from here.
  17. At 100 jumps? I know I felt invincible then .. Wait, I was talking about legwings .. Yeah, I think he should trust his own judgement at 100 jumps (150 including base). At what point do you think he should be allowed to think for himself? back to legwings: The Intro looks like an Eagle without the webbies. Is it the same legwing as the Eagle?
  18. I've let people do their first flights on my Rigor Mortis. No one has had a problem with it. Even though it has pretty big arm wings and "the leg stance of a Portugese whore", it's really stable and easy to fly. I"ve let some pretty green guys jump my M1 as well with great results. I'm a little more cautious who I let jump my SM1 though. Not because of the wing size, but just because it can be a little tricky to shut down at pull time. edit to add: Congrats to the new birds!!! Rock on! Don't worry about what the internet people think. Trust your own judgement and that of the people who know and jump with you!
  19. Hi Scott, When I said that skygod stuff I definitely wasn't talking about you. I like your plan and I think you do an awesome job with fnd. It's the people that act like your opinion isn't worth shit unless you've been on all the cool RW bigways that I think suck. I love the "no bird left behind" philosophy you guys had at the FnD's that I've been to. I'll keep coming down for them as long as it's that type of atmosphere. If it's going to be some kind of "you better prove your skills or we'll cut you" type of thing, then I'm not interested. I'm all for doing things as safely as possible, but not at the expense of the fun. I realize that the loose bigways with lesser skilled pilots may not be as safe as a super diciplined, slot specific, professionals only bigway, but I'm ok with that. Hopefully enough people share that attitude that it's still worth coming down there for.
  20. I agree Tony. I just don't remember it being that big a deal at the 50 way (exits) at 3.0. And there were even people on it with
  21. But has anyone actually bought one? I haven't seen any in the flesh, or in any photos from boogies yet... Yeah dude. They're out there. I love my Rigor Mortis! It's a great suit and the company offers outstanding service. Almost comparable to the service you get from Tony & Jeff. I think the reason we don't see more of them is that Nick guy kind of scares people at first. Once you get to know him, he kind of grows on you though. I hope more people will give them a try in '08.
  22. Can't forget to mention that 2007 also brought us the debut of EG suits line of wingsuits, the Rigor Mortis, the Flockus and the Corvus!
  23. No problem. PM me your email address and I will send it.
  24. Do you need a special wrist band to fly wingsuits there?
  25. Nope. The Jav is 1 layer and the eclipse is two. Thanks for the guess though.
