  1. I totally disagree. An engine coolant temp sensor may not throw the check engine light on right away. If bad, it makes the car hard to start and can very well make it run funny at idle for a short duration. Battery making a car chug while running???? Hmm... I think, even being a woman (which is a rude statement) she is describing the car troubles perfectly. I personally would put my money on an engine coolant temp sensor. Just my 2cents Edit: Oh and by hard to start I don't mean just turning over. It will act like it wants to start (like fire up 80% then cut out) After it does that all it does is turn over. You may even hear the fuel pump not even kick on. The fuel pump is NOT bad. That is the coolant temp sensor telling the computer to not send any more fuel to the engine. (that is why the fuel pump doesn't even bother) Then when it does start it may chug a lil while it's getting rid of all the extra shit in the cylinders. After that it runs smooth. If you shut it off then start it again (right away) it will start fine. But let it cool and it prolly will act up again. Or totally opposite: Only starts when cold... Let me know skymama what it was when you get it figured out. I am curious to see who was right.
  2. Especially when you have Dropzone.com
  3. +1 Hip Hip Hooray! It sounds like we have someone who knows what they are taking about!!
  4. Maybe If I do I'll bring my GTi
  5. So what is everyone's take on the Mantle? How does it fit? How secure is it? Tandem vid/still material? Here are my thoughts... CX-100 with Xsi next to it. Anyone?
  6. Aside from linear vs. non-linear, is the CX-100 a competitor to say... the PC1000. How about the CX-12 compared to the CX-100. My DZ uses a PC1000 for tandems. Will this compete? (again aside from editing) I finally read every page of this post but some points are a little murky for me. DSE: You said this camera is still an entry-level compared to other cameras at the DZ? In what ways? Thanks for the input and please bare with my lack of techy knowledge at this point.
  7. Why is it that we start off life with simple minded jobs and end life with simple minded jobs? (i.e Wal-mart greeter)
  8. Besides small jobs as a kid... Selling beef jerky for "The Jerky Guy" at the L.A. County Fair when I was 15.
  9. What lens set-up do you have on the 100?
  10. Any examples of the Sony CX-100 mounted with stills?
  11. Any updates regarding this helmet? I am looking at getting one but was wondering what peoples thoughts were. I think I'll be using the new Sony CX-100 and a Rebel Xsi Thanks!
  12. If u were to buy a camera to shoot tandems would the CX100 or CX105 be a winner or what tops the list? (May have been answered but I didn't have time to read all 10+pages) Can I please get all aspects of pros n cons vs. another top tandem performer? Thank you guys!
  13. +1 Pretty much... ignore the winds all together? Pshh. I would be kicked off my DZ for telling ANYONE that. IMO Tandems occasionally jump in higher winds than any fun jumper should jump. Why don't many touch on the subject of wing loading and canopy type (air-lock vs. not) Usually the camera jumpers that do jump with these tandems are loaded up more than a low-time jumper and have the experience to maybe put the luck a little more on their side. I don't believe any fun-jumper should pay attention to those getting paid to jump in higher winds. Anywho... who am I?
  14. I lived in Hesperia throughout high school and looked up skydiving in the phonebook... first place I called to schedule a jump was Apple Valley but it had been closed down for years! Wish it was still open... would've been convenient as hell. Ended up doing first jump in Mt. Pleasant MI (long story) Hope to return to California soon and find a job working at a dropzone out there. **Now accepting donations to open a dropzone in the high desert.
  15. I started when I was 18. A lot of people do there first jump then but money can be an issue to continue.
  16. I was born in Glenwood Springs and lived in Rifle for ten years and loved every minute of it. I have the best memories from there!
  17. YAH! Congrats to all those guys. I was on the ground looking up at them and there is nothing else like seeing 69 jumpers screaming at you head down. It sounded like a jet. Then the best part was all of them swooping in right infront of the FAA. Them guys were like... "man how do all them guys land that fast, at the same time, without crashing? We can't even coordinate something like that without mad-planning and everyone on radio's" Haha no not really. But the FAA was very impressed! Awesome job again guys.
  18. Scott, Thanks for the training!!! I had so much fun. I'm def. hooked and hope to order a wingsuit soon. The 10-way flock was the funnest I've had even though it didn't really work out as planned. As soon as I came back to MI my first jump was a four way tracking dive. Fun but not as fun without a wingsuit! Richy
  19. I was lucky enough this year to go to the Detroit Auto Show and see the new Camaro. The Camaro has always been my favorite and it was nice to see an unreleased car hit the big screen. There was also a new Mustang at the DAS that has lambo doors and big rims and alotta motor. Should be interesting when the Camaro actually does come out. Ford better hit the books and design a better base GT Mustang to compete LOL!!! Go see the movie. It was X-cellent.
  20. If someone had STD's and..... Easy, no-brainer... If someone's chest strap wasn't looped right or there leg straps were on wrong would you pull them aside and tell them????? Same thing You could potentially be changing an outcome that wasn't desired.
  21. That movie was the best movie I had ever seen in the theatre. The movie was for people of all ages. It had very hot actresses, bad-ass cars, action throughout, HILARIOUS scenes (which I did not expect) and something for everyone.... geek or not. I have never been in a theatre where the audience laughed so hard and clapped and cheered when the camaro came out and other scenes as well. This is definetely a movie I will add to my collection and is one I recommend all to watch!
  22. So what did the mystery powder end up being? (Sorry if I skipped that part. This thread got to be waaaay long but FUNNY AS HELL!!!!)
  23. Just wondering - Are all passes given out already for this year?
  24. Hey Kiy I'm glad you finally got to do it and I'm even more glad I wasn't in on that load. Especially in the plane going up to altitude. Who was it in between your legs anyways? Devin? Well whoever it was.... :) Ha Ha Well hope to see you around. -Richy Tori says hi too
  25. That load we were on Lila was great. The jump was even better!!!!! One of my most intense! There all fun. I love hop and pops. They give you the least time to get it right so you better work hard! Have fun! Rich P.S. Good jump Kiy and Aaron!
