  1. Can you bring in the Second Herc? I am talking about formation flock Jari "Hey, don't be afraid, ever. Because, it's just a ride."
  2. Hi Scott, you mean that we shouldn't take people with wigs seriously? What's wrong with that? How about people with pink socks or a pearcing? I think the guys deserves an answer. Stop flying head down Jari "Hey, don't be afraid, ever. Because, it's just a ride."
  3. I know, I am talking about smaller than 27 ways you know, like 8 ways and stuff I'll be making a posting here and our site soon about the organized wingsuit dives at the boogie. Unfortunately I also must tell people that they will not be allowed to make their FFC (First Flight Course) at the boogie due to the min 8 way rule. I'll make some some interesting ideas together with Andy so we will be ready, hope you are too... Jari "Hey, don't be afraid, ever. Because, it's just a ride."

  5. Nice picture Scott. Yeah, Jukka was laughing in his sleep and when he woke up he was still smiling
  6. Cheers to Amy, well done. I am very glad she got that procedure right, she must have had a great BMI Jari "Hey, don't be afraid, ever. Because, it's just a ride."
  7. What your name is? Hey, I never ever jumped 97 in my life, it was my grandmother. Jari "Hey, don't be afraid, ever. Because, it's just a ride."
  8. hey, don't take me wrong, that K open beautifully with the suit. i have 1600 + flights and still get funny openings no matter what the canopy. the point is how they behave after you get the funky stuff, i have already been kicking some twists off from that K 83 and that was a walk in the park, eyes closed, hands in the pocket Jari "Hey, don't be afraid, ever. Because, it's just a ride."
  9. Last few weeks i have been jumping jumping katana 89 and 83 all the time and simply fell in love with that canopy. The openings have been great, the canopy flies, dives and swoops absolutely great and the over all performance with the wingsuit is the best I have ever experienced. I still would recommend Sabre 2 to anybody with less than 1000 wingsuit jumps , BUT if you are used to faster canopies then you will just love Katana. Oh, I just ordered the 89 Katana and it will compliment my velocity 79 where ever I go. Safe flights! Jari "Hey, don't be afraid, ever. Because, it's just a ride."
  10. Hey you watcher did you get my email? Jari "Hey, don't be afraid, ever. Because, it's just a ride."
  11. I'll bring the whole gang and the toys to play with I am also talking with the organization and hoping to get more organizers and videoguys/girls for us. The very big ways are fun but smaller ones will benefit you more. There is nothing better than flying above that Herc.... Jari "Hey, don't be afraid, ever. Because, it's just a ride."
  12. Hi, We had 7 suits stolen about 4 years ago and one of them looked exactly like this. If anybody has more info on that suit or if you know the legimate owner please leet me know. Thank you. Jari "Hey, don't be afraid, ever. Because, it's just a ride."
  13. Did you take a nap during the flight? Was there an in-flight meal? Yeah, served by a skinny wrinkly guy, I complained and demanded better looking flight attendants. Jari "Hey, don't be afraid, ever. Because, it's just a ride."
  14. Graham was a wonderful person, a friend and one of the first South African birdmen. I had an opportunity to work with him on the project to fly from Baffin Island to mainland a few years ago. Graham showed the best South African hospitality and he will be missed by me and everybody else here at BirdMan. Fly in peace Graham. Your friend, Jari "Hey, don't be afraid, ever. Because, it's just a ride."

  16. Yeah, the air was so thick it could carry a brick and my neptune shutted itself after 14 sec flight saying I opened my parachute at somewhere around 14 K , the trust is I was still playing with that Skywan at 13 and then again after it made a round again at around 8. Super fun!! It was for sure over 3 minutes - easily. I have to download that thing when I have the time... Jari "Hey, don't be afraid, ever. Because, it's just a ride."

  20. Hi Tom, 3) If you watch the Tomb Raider stunt, you can see that the flyers are using a bent knee position. I know they are flying S3's, Actually they were S.1's and since the nature of S.1 was more unstable than any other suit we made we found out that the optimum performance with the greatest stability was achieved with slightly bent knees. For the max performance bending the knees doesn't help but the flight can be extremely unstable and in the end your performance drops dramatically if you fall on your back for example. It has happened to me when I totally maxed out and i would not wish that to happen to anybody during a BASE flight or near pull time for example. Jari "Hey, don't be afraid, ever. Because, it's just a ride."
  21. Why? Jari "Hey, don't be afraid, ever. Because, it's just a ride."
  22. Hi, My first coments just very quickly. In general I have to agree with you 100%. The BMI rating was never nothing else but to ensure the safety of those who wanted to fly. You have to understand that before your time the general opinion was totally AGAINST wingsuits and skyflying. Skydivers thought that your changes of survival is pretty close to zero if you were so stupid that you flew a wingsuit. Oh boy have those opinions changed over last 4 years. Why is that? Largerly because of the knowledge out there and the right knowledge in particular. I started to train BMI's for this particular reason because I hate general rules and regulations. I always thougt that if we share the knowledge ourselves and keep the sport safe we will need no rules and police and such. Many DZ's unfortunately regulate what their jumpers can do and what not. It is easier for them to just say no, collet their money easily from regular jump activity and if there is somebody who wants to do something extraordinary it is alway easy to say because it is "not safe". It would help everybody if we had more BMI's and all kinds of instructors out there, sharing the knowledge and helping eachother out. Some do that for money because that is what they do for living and some do it for free because they do what they believe is right thing to do. We all do it for love. However, what i strongly favour is the professional attitude and approach to teaching and coaching. You can't teach somebody how to use the wingsuit just a little bit! You have to go all the way. You can't just teach half of what is important. The half that you are forgetting may kill your guy and that is why anybody who teaches should have their shit together, should take their time (and thus the well earned small amount of cash) to make sure the first flight student understands what he/she is thaught. In general one does not need an BMI or any other coach to fly the wingsuit taken that this person has enough experience and enough knowledge (like our flight manual for instance). One needs the experience to make the decision whether one has enough knowledge and correct equicpment. However, it makes the first flight experience easier and safer should you have some professional in first hand telling what to do and what not. Trust me, I have been there ;-) I hate regulations more than anything but even more I hate when someone looses his life, or boyfriend or mother you name it, for a stupid reason like somebody teaching you what to do when they don't have a clue and eventually will kill you. This has happened already and I wish it will never happen again. Only for that reason I am a strong supporter of sharing the knowledge through trained professionals. Many out there mean well but do they have enough knowledge to really know what they are doing? Long and safe flights! Jari PS: Next BMI course DeLand 22-23.11.2003 Jari "Hey, don't be afraid, ever. Because, it's just a ride."
  23. Hey, ALL the USA suis are shipped here and we take care of the customs and all that. ALL the Europe suits are shipped DIRECTLY to the customers within EUROPE. Every European country have a different VAT. Matter and S-Fly suits are a subject to the same taxes and fees to Europeans as are BirdMan products so there is no difference there. just the base prices vary. Kind Regards, Jari "Hey, don't be afraid, ever. Because, it's just a ride."
  24. Hi Big Guy, IT IS the largest birdman suit we have ever made. Possibly bigger than a tandem parachute Jari "Hey, don't be afraid, ever. Because, it's just a ride."
  25. Congrats sweety Jari "Hey, don't be afraid, ever. Because, it's just a ride."
