  1. Seattlefabrics is pretty good as you will find some pretty cool fabrics... but their price is a total rip off! Try this one. it is a wholeseller. Only problem is that they will not ship to you if you live in California unless you have a business license due to sales tax. But if you live anywhere else it's no problem! they will ship it to you at wholesale price. But there might be a minimum cut of 5 yards. If I remember correctly I paid the same price for 5 yards of supplex with them than the price of one yard at seattlefabrics. Still if you plan on making more than one pair of pants they are definitely the way to go... Also they have a bunch of other cutting edge fabrics that are usually hard to locate at a reasonable price. hope this helps. http://www.buschassociates.com/ "We see the world just the way we are...
  2. Here is my worthless post... I have one as reserve but never had to use it! My rigger (master rigger in california) told me that they were well put together and nicely reinforced! Much more than that I don't know! Would also love to hear from people who got a ride on one... "We see the world just the way we are...
  3. I got to jump last weekend on a glacier in switzerland where landing was at about 3000 Meter above see level (around 9'000 feet)... Talk about fast landings... I felt like I was jumping a canopy much smaller. Plus the glide angle of my seven cell canpoy certainly did not help the flare! lots of fun but could be really dangerous if not prepare for this kind of landing. 4. like Andrea said! What I do is make the cigar as any propackers do and then I jus flip the cigar over and put one knee on the slider to keep the lines from getting mess up and the other knee somewhere in the middle.... that give you both hands to get the roll started and pull the bridal loop to the side... then roll away baby!!! this gives you good control over the width of the roll so that the pack job jumps into the d-bag lot of people are pretty skeptical about the psychopacks here in switzerland... but I love the look I get from people that have never seen one done before! It like:" Dude, what the F.... are you doing" "We see the world just the way we are...
  5. Was gonna do a naked jump but I had just bought a used diablo around jump 95 and the freaking thing had a built in turn... So I did my 100th sorting the problem to get it to fly straight! "We see the world just the way we are...
  6. Does anybody know why Aerodyne discontinued this canopy. I own one and I think it's a pretty cool and quite sporty canopy. With some serious inputs it can become quite radical and really fun. So why did they discontinue a seemingly good canopy? "We see the world just the way we are...
  7. In Switzerland, it depends on the DZ. If you are current and have at least two hundred loggeg jumps you should not have any problems to jump anywhere. However the A license is not always considered as good enough to let you jump if you don't have a certain amount of jumps. I had an A licence with about a 100 jumps when I moved to switzerland but one of the DZ I went to did not let me jump... The fact that I jump without a cypress did not really help... I now had to redo the test jumps to get a Swiss license and aced everything.... but i still have to do the theory part of the license and pass the test. Until I do that I am still considered a student. And since they offer the course twice a year I will be considered a student for the next six months... "We see the world just the way we are...
  8. That not real classified deal... I mean a real classified deal is when you send a 1000 bucks to some stranger you never met! and you hope the guy is a skydiver... You can't go wrong buying from Bonnie... therefore your deal does doesn't count as a classifieds deal! "We see the world just the way we are...
  9. Not all the stuff that is being sold on ebay is junk... I have yet to receive a complaint on the pants I have sold on there. Just make sure the pants are made of an appropriate fabric and that it's at least assembled with E-thread... "We see the world just the way we are...
  10. I also have a FT-50 I got fort cheap on Ebay and I never had a problem with it. Just make sure you store in a protective casing not just a the bottom of the gear bag and it should last you quite a while. As far as I know... nothing wrong with them. "We see the world just the way we are...
  11. The way I see it right now is that you got yourself a canopy with a 50% discount... So either he agrees to revised the price or you'll revise it for him when you pay the rest!! "We see the world just the way we are...
  12. I had a sort of similar thing happened to me a few weeks back when I bought a used diablo online. According to the ad, the canopy was only 2 years old and had about 150 jumps on it... So I contact the seller and we agree on 700 bucks. I have previously bought all my gear online and I always got bitching deals like a wings at 50% off and a near new Triathlon for 400 bucks on Ebay. So anyways... I am of the trusting kind, and since I never had bad experiences buying online, I just sent the money and trusted that the canopy was in good shape... When the canopy arrived and I hooked it up to the risers, I noticed that the brakes had been changed... I am immediately suspecting that something must not be right with the trim because it seemed unlikely that the brakes would need to be changed on a canopy with only 150 jumps on it. So I take the thing out for a jump and sure enough, I jumped the thing and immediately after opening the canopy start turning to the left!! The canopy turned out to have a built in turn to the left... So there I am, with a canopy that I already paid for and the freaking thing flies like crap! So I know I am sort of screwed because I already paid for the canopy... At any rate I contact the seller via email to let him know my discontentment and explained in a polite manner that I was not really happy with the canopy and that I wanted a refund. Luckily for me, the seller is a really upstanding guy and eventhough he no longer had to money to refund it to me he did agree to make things right . He took upon himself to contact Aerodyne and organized for me to shipped it back to the factory to have it evaluated and fixed... So I finally got my canopy back from Aerodyne...( I just have to mention really quick that they did a kick ass job at fixing the problem and their customer service is top notch!) So now I have a canopy that flies perfectly and the seller agreed to reimbursing me for the cost of the repair. So in your case, I would ask the seller if you can work something out to fix the problem. Obviously, if you have already paid for the canopy your options are a bit more limited... If you haven't paid for the canopy just return it and your problem is solved. If you already paid for it then I suggest you politely ask the seller to work something out. Remember you catch more flies with honey than vinegar Chances are the guy will work with you on fixing the problem. I still think that most people a fundamentaly good... Good luck! 13. Supplex comes in many different weight as well... 2ply, 4 ply, even 6 ply! So it makes it even harder to recognize it. Supplex is just the name given by Dupont to a fiber they developped. It can be weaved in many different forms and sometimes it's even coated to make it ZP, waterproof ect... Like skyyhi said a good way knowing if it could be supplex is to put water on it. On supplex, it will bead off. On poly/cotton, it will soak right in. Also, supplex will have a much more synthetic feel to it than Polycotton and if you try to blow trough the material the supplex will be much less porous that the poly cotton. Hope this helps! 14. Well my really name is a French name (Christophe) and when I was a kid growing up in switzerland, I could not say my name right to save my life... So I would always say [french accent] "Je m'appelle kitof..."[/french accent] and it stuck to me! 1976 is the year I was born. The avatar pic is a famous french comics character named "titeuf", which in french sorta sounds the same a "Kitof" "We see the world just the way we are...
