  1. Your popups I hope! I use firefox, Spyware Doctor / Sygate PF and cant remember the last time I had a popup... To test, I'll visit alot of porn sites - but its been ok so far Simply controlling your a firewall well will cut out alot... if ad/spyware cant connect it cant do much... but a combiniation of the 3 covers all the bases Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  2. Nah.. our imigration policy means you are only allowed INTO Britain without a passport..... you cant leave! Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  3. Dont follow your point then? I dont have a problem if in defending yourself someone dies... I have an issue with anyone that wants to kill someone because they attack you. Clear difference. Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  4. I think if you go up a little and read.... I replied to the statement... 'IF ATTACKED I WANT TO KILL MY ATTACKER' That is fairly clear, and stopping someone regardless of the outcome is not the point Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  5. Killing someone is wrong IMHO, regardless if they wanted to do me harm. I can agree with the right to defense, and using whatever force to achieve tht defence.... But wanting to kill someone should be abhorent to all. Clearly its not sadly. Meakly submitting is never something I said I would do, and would certainly would give as good as I get - but even when in a situation like that would not want the other person to die. Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  6. Maybe I should have setup a poll to ask that question.... And maybe that ought to be the question you are asked when registering a gun..... I wont even start on how wrong I think that is. Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  7. lol how can you be so heartless..?! the poor guy hasnt got a passport?! how the hell could he leave! Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  8. Can see where you are coming from, but specifically talking about a throw out BOC - I think its not good to put a student on that on AFF jumps. Maybe on your consols... Reason being, if for whatever reason you are unstable and not with your JMs (ie things are not going well at all!) a RIP makes it easier... As stability is less of a question after those jumps - less likely its a problem. For the most part - like when you learn to drive, probably best to stick to the same car! but some things do need to be different between jump 1 and jump 15 IMHO
  9. Thats my question exactly... As a legal gun owner, why would you carry lethal ammo.. to defend against an illegal ammo user? When you could render them harmless without it. That is the hypothetical situation I was looking to explore. If that is the case - it sounds more like the right to punish someone with an equal violence that they were intending - rather than just the ability to defend yourself. Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  10. The question I posed here was a hypothetical one. And I did want to avoid the issue of if a suitable tranquiliser was available. I wanted to know if gun owners were defense minded or power influenced. If its pish-posh discussing a question of this type - dont take part! Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk

Well, strictly speaking I could even put down treaty support as self interest.... but like I said... I am not that good at history Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk

Also, its probably safe to say that the self interest would be about not allowing any other power to have the size and ability to threaten your national security. So aside from japan and all the valid additional reasoning the other guys have mentioned.... saving your own bacon probably comes into it. In fact, off the top of my head, I cant think of any nation that has gone to war to save the poor souls of another sovereign nation.... maybe I am just not good at history Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  14. Ok, maybe the analogies were not the best, but my message was - slowly slowly at first. A student cypress / pulling high / larger canopies / ripcods not throw out all make it easier and safer for the newbie. More decision time is good. Also ripcords dont rely as much on body position.... with a spring loaded main there is a better chance of an inflation over a bridle wrapped around your arm. So in short - I dont believe it is wise to train people of the same gear that they will PROGRESS (being the keyword) to.
  15. Hey... selling your video to fund your jumps is not a bad idea!.... I have a great clip of my fiance freaking out in orlando and doing a back/head down track out of the door! Could be worth £250 if I send it to 'Youve been framed' or similar Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  16. The question I was trying to answer was not really if it was technically possible.... but the idea which was looked at in one reply of :- Is it the fact that the gun is potentially lethal that is the reason for carrying it.... or ... is it that really people want to defend themselves? Cus to defend yourself a tranquiliser type weapon would do the trick (again ! forget the science!) Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  17. Just curious, as Ive seen and entered into a few debates now.... how would you all feel on this as an idea.. (I know it may not be technically possible - just the principle) Would all you Pro-gun owners support a ban on all fatal ammunition - in support of a instant acting tranquiliser bullet that renders your attacker unconcious? If not - why not? as this would allow you perfect defense (probably better than a bullet as a flesh would would still knock them out) Just curious... Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk

I really cant believe you are bringing that up again! But, as you mention it... I am pretty sure it was self interest that was the motive for the US involvment and nothing to do with a desire to help me(who lives in England). Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk

American foriegn policy based on the guiding principle to help people? I dont think so That may be the PR front - self interest is certainly the most part. Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  21. For the same reason that :- 1. A child would ride a bike with stabilisers. 2. Or would use a rubber ring 3. People dont run a marathon with no training 4. A degree is not the first qualification you do. People need to walk before they run Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  22. DOH Thats certainly part way there... (good job there isnt a [-] near all the items or I would have been really blushing! And how did I manage to type 'foums' twice in one post?! I think my 'r' key must be faulty Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  23. Just an idea... How about an option to set which forums appear in a users display? i.e. The foriegn language foums arent much use to me being as uneducated as I am As the community grows I guess not every forum will be relevant to every person. Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  24. I have found that some of my friend with more jumps found it strange to get used to for the first few minutes... then their experience helps..... The tunnel does show you every miniscule movement where you would get away with alot in the sky without realising! I had a friend with 500+ jumps that never really realised he had a backslide (minor) until he went to orlando...
  25. Would work for me too! Although you would probably need to keep it down to maybe one per forum.... its that trade off between site being nice to use / or irretatingly full of adverts Where's those advertising scales gone? Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
