  1. I would guess most facilities would not let you go too high unless you prove totally in control... A drop onto padding or netting could always end badly so will be avoided. In Skyventure to my experience you are allowed up higher as you can mostly be caught on the way down if youre in trouble..... each tunnel type requires different safety procedures.
  2. Only 700? I take it all back. Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  3. Nah. Go back and read from the beginning. I was certainly talking about clothing - and how it should not be worn to protect someones identity. I also broached the topic of no-clothes... which is again part of my debate. The reason I suggested not explaining this all to you... is I have been very clear to understand the point (IMHO) so perhaps it is you that should go back and read from the beginning. The point is very clear - Wearing masks is an enabler to group violence (not a cause) and this is why it is sometimes necessary to enable policing to remove this problem. 4. Think ive explained enough to get the point across. Join the dots.... then I'll come back later and teach you how to suck some eggs. Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  5. I am not so sure, They would be alot more aproachable without the guns! Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  6. I quite agree with the sentment that they SHOULD be allowed to do this - however the practicality of the situation means its safer if they are not allowed to. We have seen the same things in northern ireland where marches have been stopped. Lets take another masked group erm... Insurgent Muslims? Lets say you have a large group of them in the US that wants to protest against Iraq occupation - should they be allowed to march on the whitehouse wearing balaclavas? Probably should morally.... should they be allowed? For safety and prevention of a definite riot! probably not. As for the forefathers and freedom - not everything is free like I said.... I cant walk through the mall in the buff. (not that I'd want to) Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  7. Becuase as a mob crimes can be commited with total annonymity - I cant beleive you really cant see the difference. No, however the likelyhood is greater - that coupled with historic abusive actions and the annonymity cause a certain need for caution. Becuase they could still hide behind the mask and say 'It wasnt me that did it - must have been another member' Some freedoms need to be sacrificed in order to maintain a peaceful society - and I really dont see why an issue like this one is too contentious. I could argue it is less risky to allow people to wander the streets nude - why is that a problem?! It is about balancing the lost freedom against the benefit of the control measure.... and if I were judging this one the scales would be easily tipped. Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  8. A writer going under a pseudonym is a bit different. The actions of a large group of people should be policed differently to the actions of individuals.... especially in the prevention of conflict. Steps should be taken when prudent to reduce the potential for serious situations. This is the same in any situation for any group of people. Yes - this is restrictive, but so is nearly any preventative measure against potential crime.... Is it an afront to my freedom that I am not trusted on a plane without being searched? Or that I am asked to show my passport and not hide my face? Identity is required in certain situations where law needs to be upheld. I think this is one of them. 9. I would have to agree with Quade - Allowing masked protest would be foolhardy. Nothing about freedom of speech - just public disorder and riot control. Yes - you could argue that they are innocent til they start a public dissorder offence.... but there has to be a common sense line to prevent riots. Would it be ok to allow a group to carry petrol bombs until they crossed the line and threw one? after all they may just be wanting to fill their cars right? If you want to wear a mask - fine. If you want to demonstate with a large group with a potential to riot - mask wearing is not so good. Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  10. Ahhh, at last someone gets it... Right... back to the serious business at hand. Ban Guns! Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  11. I must be reading it wrong.... his response didnt seem that harsh to me?! maybe I am missing some backgrund knowledge... Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  12. Not sure where you get that supposition from. However, I would agree that any law-breaker should be punished.... and if there is a reason for them to be locked up - would argue they have been stopped from continuing to commit that crime at least! Bottom line - people shouldnt break the law! Even if the law is one that isnt really relevant just becuase a former crime was a paper one. Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  13. I ought to get a job as a lawyer playing these word games... Lets say someone a felon - is in possesion of a gun... that may be his only current crime. If he is locked up - Gun laws have therefore stopped a criminal - in his tracks for a current crime and the continuance of the crime of carrying a gun. Ergo - Gun laws do in deed stop criminals. Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  14. Ahh, this is where we get into word play... lol Strictly speaking, once imprisoned a criminal has been stopped from commiting further crime. Prevention is a different matter and I didnt say that Gun law prevented crime. Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  15. yes yes, I know.... America won the war... no one else was involved... I owe my English accent and the appreciation that I dont speak German to you... Its all down to the civilian firearms you carry... Give the WW2 harping a rest. The topics are not related. Civilian and Combat situations are not really the same thing. My thread was based on the fact that (again tongue in cheek) some "GUN" laws (note I have never mentioned banning here) result in criminals being put behind bars. So - before you suggest I give the topic a break... I didnt raise the topic of banning guns here. You did. Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  16. I didnt state that the laws were effective or not and the relevance to crime rates.. But... for the criminals that are locked up - they have been stopped. Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  17. Whether they used the guns or not.... they broke a law here - so... hence are criminals and have been reprehended appropriately. The post is a little tongue in cheek - however the title on the other thread could be just as misleading..... As some gun laws (like felons arent allowed guns) do stop criminals once they are caught and prosecuted. If the title was 'Gun banning laws' then I would have held my hands up Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  18. Just thought it would be fun to note that quite a few criminals have been locked up for illegally possesing guns here in the UK Hence proving that some gun laws do stop some criminals Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  19. It would be interesting to know how the guns turn from being legal to illegal and how easy that is. I bet the guns the criminals get hold of were not smuggled into the country or manufactured in their hidden workshop (last bit for you Aggie ) wonder what the % split is on that. Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  20. And our max power consumption could be just over 4MW... how big a panel do we need? Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  21. lol.. yeah for every plus there is a minus.... maybe get fliers to wear VR goggles Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  22. They should build their facilities on a wind tunnel site - where power is not an issue Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  23. lol... thank god for that! Given its way past my bedtime Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  24. No idea... but its never been really easy to get a gun.... even when you could I think there were applications / waiting / police checks etc etc Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
  25. I can believe that too! but thats beside the point.... In the situation where guns are rife - I agree it makes no sense to ban - and to arm the innocent probably works... and helps the figures. That in no way correlates to a situation where the number of guns is so low. Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
