Are you using a 4 grommet D-bag? I blew up a canopy a couple of years ago. All indications were line dump/bag strip. I switched from a 2 to a 4 grommet bag and paid extra attention while packing. So far no more problems with hard openings. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

Speaking as a jumper who has 8 years in the sport with only 500 jumps. I'd have to say the jumper with more time has a small edge on somene with alot of jumps and little time in the sport. My reasoning is simple, those of us with more time have had a chance to see many people make mistakes and be able to learn from them. We are less likely to repeat those we have witnessed, or sometimes just heard about. With that said however, there is no substitute for staying current, and alot depends on the individual. I guess for me the bottom line is, I'd feel a little more comfortable with a more experienced jumper as opposed to a new guy who has a lot of jumps in a short time, but who can really burn points or swoop. I'd have to say try an unstable exit, just flail out the door, lay on your back and do the "dead bug" or something. After that arrrrrcccccchhhhh...........hard, get stable, and enjoy the ride!!! If you get stable quick, flail some more. It just helps you get more comfortable in freefall. But the bottom line is at this point in your jumping career, don't get too far out of your comfort zone yet. JUST MAKE SURE YA PULL AT THE END.......that's the most important part of the skydive! I feel your pain! My wife hates skydiving but, as long as it doesn't rule my (our) life then she deals with it. It's all a matter of perspective. I have to find time to jump, raise kids, work, and play (at things we BOTH like to do). We had some trouble a few years back and the marriage counselor actually took MY side on skydiving!
