  1. More Photos as per the Aug 13, 2016 site visit -
  2. Regarding photo 0080 in post 8 of 11 in this thread - I thought the concrete was up to the top in the photo - it was not - actually the 7 feet thick concrete was poured 20 feet down and the water put on top of it - as I was told by a manager on site when this more recent photo was taken on Aug 13, 2016 on my way to an iFLY Orlando overnight camp.
  3. Olga Bakulina - truth in advertising I am a fan of hers. :)
  4. What kind of knee and elbow pads worked well for you. I'm in the market for them due to beginning to learn flips etc.
  5. Pretty music and fancy flight https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g56sDfUkrjc
  6. Need to get fired up when going to speak against some gov't. program https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QByM5stcl6Q Chek out the missile launch via eye blink at 1 - 49 full screen, volume up
  7. From a relative newb w/6 hours in tunnel. a while back some info source (e.g. IBA, ISS, dz.com etc.) had an article on muscle memory not necessarily being about muscles but brain wiring. Link to an article (not the one I read specific to this) but it gives the idea http://lifehacker.com/5799234/how-muscle-memory-works-and-how-it-affects-your-success Article was about the muscle memory which ain't really muscle memory but repeating attempts enough for the brain to wire new circuits (kind of like alzheimers in reverse)so that it can instantly feed the right info to arms and legs. The article helped me to better understand - why some skills seem to take forever to learn in the tunnel - e.g. when my brain has Zero existing wiring to work from it takes longer to learn a skill. Prime example was my last overnight camp at iFLY Orlando. Went to work mainly on bak fly. Felt a bit bored and wild so let coach know I wanted to try bak2belly and belly2bak flips. Caught on to both by the 3rd try of each. Fastest I've learned any tunnel skill possibly due to old existing wiring from many years ago doing flips on the ground as a gymnast. Have read sitfly can take around 5 hours to catch on to but am sure it varies upon the individual.

  9. You asked :) More info here - http://www.nrmca.org/aboutconcrete/cips/11p.pdf Pro DBBII's Avatar Trade: General Contractor Join Date: Aug 2008 Location: Tampa, FL Posts: 200 Rewards Points: 208 Re: Keeping Concrete Wet During Curing US Army Corps of Engineers says: Beginning immediately after placement, and continuing for at least 7 days, cure and protect all concrete from premature drying, extremes in temperature, rapid temperature change, freezing, mechanical damage, and exposure to rain or flowing water. Provide all materials and equipment needed for adequate curing and protection at the site of the placement prior to the start of concrete placement. Accomplish moisture preservation of moisture for concrete surfaces not in contact with forms by one of the following methods: a. Continuous sprinkling or ponding. b. Application of absorptive mats or fabrics kept continuously wet. c. Application of sand kept continuously wet. d. Application of impervious sheet material conforming to ASTM C 171. e. Application of membrane-forming curing compound conforming to ASTM C 309, Type 1-D, on surfaces permanently exposed to view. Accomplish Type 2 on other surfaces in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Accomplish the preservation of moisture for concrete surfaces placed against wooden forms by keeping the forms continuously wet for 7 days . If forms are removed prior to end of the required curing period, use other curing methods for the balance of the curing period. Do not perform protection removal if the temperature of the air in contact with the cocrete may drop more than 60 degrees F within a 24 hour period.
  10. Today is June 28, 2016 and shows much progress since April 2016 photos - many workers doing many things on this site - no grass growing under their feet. Photo 2 of 4 isn't a swimming pool it is the concrete foundation still being watered. Excuse image quality but I got dinky 2g phone challenges.
  11. Probably until 11 but not positive.
  12. Past gymnastics activities is probably part of why I got Happily hooked on the tunnel flyin'.
  13. I do since I used to be one but womens is good to watch also. Additionally I don't think NBC would put it on in prime time for nobody to watch.
  14. Good News - IBA staffperson communicated to me all may be well by tomorrow morning. Sounds like they're working hard to fine tune the site.
  15. If one hasn't checked their International Bodyflight Association account since JUN 1 , 2016 they might want to. I did yesterday and saw glitches - won't bore y'all w/details. Today I also saw on the IBA facebook page - scrolling down a ways I spied a May 28, 2016 post alerting folks to log in to their account by Jun 1, 2016 or else they will have to reopen a new IBA account. Sure wish IBA could have notified all directly rather than relying on people going to facebook -

TBO states next to Top Golf in Brandon - wondering if this site with construction of "something" already going on is The Site.
  18. Yep, other world's best coaches such as Olga Bakulina.
  19. Agreed X 2 - I've only got 5 hrs in the tunnel over 2 years or so but have always been told backflying is the default especially from sit and head down. I know most folks learn belly 1st but bakfly is what saves one most of the time as they progress to the more complicated skills at higher wind speeds. Plus confirm anything you read here with a real coach - preferably level 4. Maybe google Int'l Bodyflight Assoc (IBA ), tunnel coaches etc. to learn more b-4 doing the 10 hours since it is a large $$$ investment that u want to get the most out of.
  20. Wondering if the patent battle at this dz link http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4796330;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread has any effect on the "Extreme " facility.
  21. Very informative post - A lot to learn about this sport/industry for relatively new folks like me. In the end though - I just want to fly more and let the tunnel titans fight this out.
  22. Actually I thought it was a newer article since it just popped up in an IBA newsletter.
  23. Just came across this - http://www.indoorskydivingsource.com/news/ifly-isg-battle-ends-fliteshop-terminated/?mc_cid=c701cee6ef&mc_eid=38af0c81a9
