  1. Maybe 15 minutes of tunnel time to get the feel for belly flying and some stability in that position. Word has it that it really helps new freefallers.
  2. Live link - http://www.paragear.com/skydiving/10000136/G1134/FLEXVISION-OVER-THE-GLASSES-SKYDIVING-GOGGLES Payin' forward for dz.com folks training me to clik the url icon below right before and right after installing the link.
  3. Will add heel tension to my back flying. My memory will be put to the test next time in the wind. This makes much sense - especially as I've watched my feet flop around all the time for a long time on my dvd's. Considering my brain I should print this thread out and carry it in the tunnel to refer to while flying the next time - actually wish I could. :) Idea - print list of form changes - tape outside tunnel (upside down) so it can be read with my head fallen off - sounds like a plan - Right? Change is on it's way - Thanks A Lot Evil Genius - especially for skipping the invoice. ;)
  4. Thanks KRBKV Will follow all advise here since (to be honest) I've heard a lot of it from local coaches but it seems like I tell myself to do it but when I get in tunnel I forget a lot plus the 9 versus 1000 hour factor. ;) Definitely will try to concentrate more on the basics which I may have tried to get ahead of. Next time in tunnel it will be mostly basic bak fly at reasonable wind speed for my experience level (e.g. iFLY Orlando 75% and iFLY Ft Lauderdale 57%). Thanks Again
  5. There is also the potential for a G3 chinstrap adjustment system to malfunction and lock up on your head after tightening it. Happened to me with a rental helmet at a tunnel a few months ago. Took quite a while and a bit of pain to get it off. I realize it was a rental (no tellin' who did what to it) and don't blame Cookie just mentioned it so people take the adjustment instructions for G3's seriously. This incident won't stop me from buying one when I can find a good deal because I have been happy with ones I have used.
  6. Interesting how 3 people gave similar advise to me. Main thing being learn to fly slower, arch, head back, open chest. I do appreciate this advise and will put it to use soon. Just want to say Thanks to you all again.
  7. Some photos taken with my freebie don't get what u don't pay for ;) at&t phone at the very last ever overnight camp Feb 18/19 2017. 2 more shots to follow. The style of airflow may not be missed but the ambiance atmosphere and soundscape might be.
  8. 2 more shots That's All Folks !!

  10. Right on Poul - I have done what u recommend - get kind of scared looking backwards at the wall but will take what u say to heart - my coaches have told me that too - between fear and hard headedness, forgetfullness (pushing 70 yrs old) I haven't caught on to doing it yet. I will focus on it though and put all the advise here to good use.
  11. Thanks Blis - Understood but What does it mean to "open the chest more"
  12. Reasonable solution chips except that my belly speed doesn't facilitate performing more advanced skill in a smooth well executed manner albeit I may resort to that if that's what it takes - Thanks.
  13. I am a fun flyer - one skill (bak side slide) away from IBA level 2. Problem - My Belly flying wind speed is limited by my ability to arch to get down (only way I know to drop down). When Bak flying I fly at a higher speed but if I transition to belly I go up high and have problem getting down. I like combining both types of flying and appreciate any advise to help me get over this progression hurdle. Video example of my problem - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTz0_cs0Ub8&feature=youtu.be At 12-14 I enter at more than normal belly speed and am pushed up and take a while to get down. At 13-13 coach increases speed to help me bak fly easier At 13-19 I do bak to belly feet under and go up high unintentionally again and take time to get back down. That's the problem I want to solve. Now this video is in the Original iFLY Orlando at it's last overnight camp and I have flown the new Ft Lauderdale tunnel that has a different wind profile where wind speed dramatically increases JMO from what it is down low as u get over about 10 ft up so my problem mentioned herewill be greater there which caused me to come here for help so I don't get lost 30 ft up in a modern tunnel. :) I have been told that if I get stuck up high in tunnel to just roll on my bak to get down (which I understand) but my personal preference would to be to descend while on belly when I choose to. Thanks in advance for any advise.
  14. Flew tonight Feb 12th for 1st time. Wow watch out as you go up 10-15 ft - wind speed doesn't stay the same or decrease like Orlando it accelerates as u gain altitude - above the glass it's steadily increasing from there on up. I set for the top speed I could handle on my belly down low near the mat then ascended what I thought wasn't that much on my belly kind of fast like we all like to do I was taken higher by surprise much higher before I knew it and had barely enough arch left to get down. Just something one who has only flew at Orlando has to adapt to. One disappointment - Lauderdale tunnel is too quiet for my taste. - I loved the sound of iFLY Orlando from the outside and inside - you could just sense the power driving the wind. I will miss that Orlando soundscape but the flip side is such smooth airflow - smooth as glass. Guess this thread is about over now.
  15. Fans R spinnin' People R Flying The Wait is Over - ask for coach Marcus Lewis to be kept safe. Just bring a Fist Full of Dollars https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpZjvbSC9_M
  16. Get ready folks - No need 4 photos - It's done and could open any day now. From what I've heard iFLY is waiting on the city to install a valve of some sort but after that the fans begin to "spin" for us. Anyway there phone number is 1 954 280 4359 Waitin's all but over and South Fla will be flying hi soon in it's shiny new 14 footer.
  17. After 8+ hours in the tunnel I am noticing the cumulative effect of the International Bodyflight Association's (IBA) skills progression program paying off by newer more complicated transitions coming easier than more basic skills I have done. Skills learned tend to build upon one another. International Bodyflight Association has a training verification system (set up on their web site like a log book) that logs skills attained , hours flown and who a trainee's instructors were which possibly could suffice for what this "From Tunnel to Sky" article suggests.

  21. And here's the movie if folks have 2 1/2 hours to spare. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azxTdI6hAfQ
  22. Couldn't find a web site for "skyhelmet" with pricing sizing info etc. Did find a facebook page but nothing else. In fact I guess googled "skyhelmets.com" and got an alert that that address is an attack page. Got out quick and won't go back there ;) Any further info on them would be appreciated.
  23. Wow wingsuit flying for $97.00 for 4 minutes without all the risk. I know it isn't the same but still - it's cheaper than I thought until I translated the site via their icon. Anyone in Sweden ought to go for it and give a report here.
