  1. Both of my vertical and inverted positions are comfortable between 150 and 170.. obviously you have more of a speed range in headown. But your sit range is very mobil aswell, dont get me wrong But I can actually can go slower in my headdown than my sit.. And I am 6'1 and 230lbs out of the door..
  2. I dont think that there is any reason to have to do a night jump.. I really dont want to do it!!.. I dont ever see my self really ever going to do one..Why..Fun? I like to see who I am flying with..That is fun!! I dont want to fly my canopy in the dark.. My DZO wont even do them.. I have almost a thousand jumps but I dont see me able to get my D- any time soon especially with day light savings coming up.. As the previous post states: WHy do we have to do night jumps anyways?!!
  3. Dave give me some more info.. How long a drive is it from Houston?..(might have to fly) Will the boogie be flying during the midweek days?? what kind of plane?? Will there be electrical hook ups somewhere at the DZ if I drive my van down? My spring break is the same time and I want to come!! I got some mad cash saved up after ELoy,since I havent been jumping(weather) and we have Mardi Gras the week before.. and then hit the Red Bull swoop comp on the way back.?!. Hell yea!! I want to come??
  4. Guys I know many of you have never seen a Kurupee suit but I ordered one.. I was taking a chance on a new company.. I paid half for what every other company charges and I got it in 3 weeks.. I am a big guy 6'2 225lbs and the cut was just perfect... I would suggest taking a look at their site..Kurupee.com I got custom stripes and double layering for no extra charge..I have been a faithful Flite Suit customer but since i went back to school I couldnt afford 350$ for the suit I wanted.. I have had a few from them so I have seen some real good quality suits.... Check em out guys I am happy with what I recieved...
  5. yea I got that same deal on my reserve that I had perchase.. Sweet... I wish others would do that aswell
  6. My first chop was similar.. I had my left brake came undone and wrapped into a knot on the opposite side rear riser.. Dont ask me how but video looks cool as I watched it happen.. Fast spinning mal I am glad that I got rid of my RSL because I would have never thought to undo it before I chopped because the spin got fast quick!! It was a Velocity demo loading 2.1:1 Crappy risers was the culprit and it scared the shit out of me.. Plus I almost lost the canopy into lake Erie aswell.. And they call it Erie for a reason!!!
  7. Yea I won a 40 % off wings container at Summerfes..but I had just bought a new Micron.. So I had a good friend do a huge favor for me and I knew he was looking to buy a new rig so I gave it to him.. SOme of those coupons you win can only be used through certain people as well.. Using dealers is always a good thing unless the coupon comes straight from the factory of the item.. Skyygod.. Yes if you call him he gives 35%off on PD canopies... I have recieved 35 % off on all 4 canopies and three containers I have bought from him..
  8. 35% off everything as a dearler..Canopies, containers Etc.. Everthing except accesories.. He is also the owner operator of Pier Ltd.... From researching When I buy gear he always has the best prices.. I have called other dealers and when they check to see if they can get gear for me they call him. LOL... Very good prices.. Local rigger at Gold Coast skydivers....and if your local he always gives finance programs which rock.. SInce I am poor.
  9. American SKydiving Systems gives 35% off if anyone is interested.. Ask for J.Michael
  10. My DZ all deepends on who you are.. Reputation goes along way. Any big named freelyers say when the Nelsons come in they can jump it. But as far as locals? You have to be on the up and up with the DZO and your skills.. Proof has to be given and is judged..
  11. Man I have a RAWA. The fit is perfect. The angle of the camera is perfect. I have the headdown and headup version box. It is pretty close to being snag proof.. Better than anything else I have seen.. Th helmet is light as hell.. Looks really sharp like a freefly helmet should. Mine is white actually.. The only cons I would have to say would be the material.. I dont think that it would hold up if I threw it out of a moving vehicle at 60 mph.. The bone head optik would though.. But then the optik is much heavier.. Also.. You cant really change the angle say if you freefly then want to video a tandem. You then really have to know the angle of your camera to get the shot on tandems and it takes a different flying style to really get the shot... I really like my camera helmet and for the money and the fit of custom measurement I think I would order another one if I lost this one
  12. I saw in parachutist a couple of months ago that a guy was getting an award for 274 hours of freefall.. I cant do the math but that has to be a lot of jumps.. I think he was at Perris actually.. older fella..
  13. As RMCVEY said about learning from your mistake, spend A LOT of time on the ground thinking about how you are supposed to set up, how much riser input, altitude everything. Know everthing on the ground in your head before you go and make you canopy flight. Enact your landings and approaches on the ground. just like dirt diving.
  14. Hey if you go to Lake Whales look around for the gravity pirates freefly team..One or two of them should be spending the winter there.. They are out of canada and some of the coolest guys around.. I meet them at the Canadian Freefly festival last year.. You will like them.. there is Paul, Pauly and AJ.. 21 years old? Happy pre birthday bro.. Have fun at south beach if you go.. Dont pick up any girls that are really guys... I had a friend that made that mistake last time we were down there.. the most funniest thing I ever saw..
  15. Man I can tell you a easy way to tell if a rig is too big for you.. 1.. Put it on, tighten everthing as if you were going to jump. 2.. Now bend over and try to pull the rig over your head while you are bent over..and get out of the rig If it is too big you will come out of it... I have a rig made to my specs but if i loosen up the leg straps just a two inches or so I can pull the harness off even with the chest strap tight.. I actually bet people for lunch money that I can get out of a strapped rig and they dont believe me, then I do it.. It is very important that you have a rig that fits well .. Period!!!.. Especially if you are going to freefly make sure it FITS!!!! In different types of body positions in freeflying it is very easily capable of coming off if it is too big..
  16. Man I have been reading about the ball.. and when I was in Eloy I sat and spoke with Omar about the ball.. The ball is very fragile it seems. Gripping it too hard while in freefall it seems that it would come open. If you dont grab it just in the right spot then it releases the filler right then.. That is what it acted like on the ground.. I have not jumped with one though.. They are supposed to fly really well though. I think that it looks pretty cool.. Plus being able to change its speed rather easily is nice.. Omar said that they have let a few go off that it does work(but man made) and the filler dosent hurt anyone.....
  17. Hey man can you give me some more info on the meets because we have a team here in South Miss that are wanting to compete.. [email protected]
  18. Man it was Vegas!!.. how can you pass up Vegas for new years then critize some one for it.. Skydiving happens all year round and the new year dosent.. Got to love life and life that dosent revolve around jumping.. Sin city baby!! if I had it all to do again I would change a thing..........
  19. Really?!! I always thought that Europe or all parts as being expensive to skydive.. man that sounds like a great two or three week holiday during the summer.. Has anyone ever been over there for that part of the year.. Are they DZ turbine DZ's.. Big DZ's? or what.. I have seen alot of video of big and fun DZ's in Norway.. Would they be similar to those types of places during the summer?...
  20. Free jump!!??!!! man he didnt give me a free jump!!! and i had to put up with all that BS and he still didnt give us our medals either... man i am pissed off now...
  21. I started with a freefly suit because I am a big boy.. 6'1 220.. But as my skill has allowed me to slow down I am in no need of all the drag except for big ways.. I still use it all the time because I have gotten so used to the feel of drag on my arms. When you are able to have total freedom with your arms and have a mile of drag on them then you know that you can fly your legs well.YOu know that you can compensate for anything... It makes you a better flyer in the end.. Plus,It is always easier to go faster than it is to slow down in freeflying..
  22. Thanks alot man I usually search before I ask but I didnt this time.. Pure lazyness. It is a curse.. Your post help.. Cheers
  23. Anybody heard of Kurupee FF suits.. They are out of Brasil. I found their website out of Parachutist. Anyways they are very cheap.. I mean like $150 total with custom work.. I just have never heard or have seen one.. How well they are made and so forth is the question I am asking. They also give three week delivery times from order.. Their website is kind of vague.. ( Kurupee.com ) Do you think that I should take a chance because of how cheap they are are stick to the expensive reliable types.. FLight Suit, Tony..etc...
  24. Guys I have some video of the some people that take part in the tunnel camps FTC and they are kicking ass.. These guys are flying in real flight positions and doing two way routines not any different than if they were in the air.. Maybe to really get the wind tunnel revamped for freeflying you need to be apart of the FTC tunnel camps.. I think that they are $250 for how ever minutes with coaching.. But the video dosent lie these guys are freelying hard core in the tunnel!! So the people that have had a bad expierence freeflying in the tunnel, there must have been something missing in the equation that didnt allow you to freefly..
  25. Call J Michael Brown.. I am telling you he will beat any price out there. He owns American Skydiving Systems and Pier LTD.. Out of Biloxi Miss.. I dont know how to make things go clickly to the site but I do know he has the best prices on anything and can get anything.. I have bought gear from him for the past 4 years and with researching before I bought ALWAYS! I always use him in the end.. Plus anyone that owns two major distributers that have been around for at least ten years you know he has a lot of conections to get want you want...Cheers...
