  1. Great view but that's a funky looking hybrid! _________________________________________ Old age ain't no place for sissies!
  2. My hubby and I both have Dolphin containers and have used them for 5 years with NO problems. We have no plans to upgrade. All of our gear is checked weekly. As with ANY gear maintainence is a must!
  3. I survived a 53 foot fall out of a tree when I was 10. Now I make sure I have at least 5,000 feet of altitude and am wearing a parachute! _________________________________________ Old age ain't no place for sissies!
  4. My first jump was solo on a static line...I was scared spitless...that was 5 years + 200 jumps ago. I've still never done a tandem! _________________________________________ Old age ain't no place for sissies!
  5. Do not wax your lines...the wax attracts dust & dirt and that will wear the lines out fast! _________________________________________ Old age ain't no place for sissies!
  6. Show up, hang around, watch and listen...ask questions then ask someone to teach you to pack. There has ALWAYS been someone at my dz all too willing to help me learn. It was a slow process but now I pack for myself and now can help others learn to pack. Good luck!
  7. Sounds like they're just jealous that you've got a big one! _________________________________________ Old age ain't no place for sissies!
  8. 49 and that was 5 years ago _________________________________________ Old age ain't no place for sissies!
  9. Buy a USED canopy first, get good at flying that one. Then you can make a better informed decision as to where you'll spend all that $$$$$ _________________________________________ Old age ain't no place for sissies!
  10. I used the pro pack method on a 220 Triathlon with about 100 jumps on it...pretty easy...then I got a brand new Tri 190. Holy shit...that was a slippery mess...it would be a good hour of cussing, sweat & tears ...and it STILL looked like shit...then I started psycho packing...WOW, I can't believe the huge difference! It actually fits in the bag neatly for a change and it's FASTER! _________________________________________ Old age ain't no place for sissies!
  11. I always STOW the brakes and uncollapse the slider right after landing. Since I pack for myself...when I'm ready to start AND finish the pack job...I check the brake lines for twists then SET the brakes. _________________________________________ Old age ain't no place for sissies!
  12. Sorry to hear you've had problems with Aerodyne service. I've had several dealings with Aerodyne as the owner of 2 Triathlon canopies. They relined my 220 and did an update on the attachment points. Good communications and great service. I also bought a brand new 190 from them last year and received it in 2 weeks. Just my 2 cents. _________________________________________ Old age ain't no place for sissies!
  13. GREAT advice...I own an older Tri 220 and now it opens just as sweet as my new Tri 190! _________________________________________ Old age ain't no place for sissies!

  15. My first ZP was a '96 Triathlon 220 with less than 50 jumps and I thought it was a bitch to pack until I got my brand new 190 Tri Holy Crap she's a slippery bitch! I don't mind packing that 220 now. _________________________________________ Old age ain't no place for sissies!
  16. My husband of 22 years told me that one of the reasons he was attracted to me was because I wore glasses! Smart man! _________________________________________ Old age ain't no place for sissies!
  17. William H. Rankin wrote "The Man Who Rode The Thunder", it's available for purchase and I'd love to read it but they are REAL proud of it! I'll be checking libraries.
  18. Low wind day so you can open high and have plenty of time to play with your canopy and get a better idea of how it flares, turning ratio, etc. _________________________________________ Old age ain't no place for sissies!
  19. I downsized from a 262 Rascal to a 220 Triathlon to a 190 Triathlon which I bought brand new and it will probably be the last canopy I ever purchase as I am old and my bones don't heal as fast as they used to. I am interested in having FUN and landing as close to the dz and as safely as possible! _________________________________________ Old age ain't no place for sissies!
  20. So YOU"RE the one who got the last one...the one that robbed me of getting one because I was a slow-assed dumbass in ordering. I hope you enjoy it, dog. Yep...that'd be me! That was a kickass deal and I almost passed it up too! I'm enjoying the shit out of flying her...NOT the packing of that slickassed bitch! Thank you for passing up that deal. _________________________________________ Old age ain't no place for sissies!
  21. Didn't like the color at first...but it grew on me...and nobody else has those colors at my dz. 4 Purple cells and 3 Gold cells...it is highly visable...and it was the last 190 Triathlon that Aerodyne had in stock for $700 I LOVE my canopy! _________________________________________ Old age ain't no place for sissies!

  24. Bill, Glad to hear you're going to be okay. We need you around to invent more neat stuff! Heal up fast and try to enjoy the vacation. With much respect, Liz and Phiz from Skydive Skyranch _________________________________________ Old age ain't no place for sissies!
  25. Dear Mr. DeWitte: Nothing speaks to a person's character or lack thereof more than the criticism he or she chooses to inflict on others. Your cruel, unwarranted personal attack against a woman whose only crime is trying to find out more about the man she loved suggests that you, Mr. DeWitte, suffer from a serious lack of character. That you not only criticized her objective but also felt it necessary to question her motivation and make disparaging inferences about her lifestyle suggests you not only suffer from a serious lack of character but are also embarrassingly deficient in basic maturity. I think I speak for just about everyone hear in asking that you not only refrain from making further posts on dropzone.com but also find a new sport and/or hobby, so as not to further taint the image of skydiving with your presence. Sincerely, W. Scott "Douva" Lewis I don't think I could have said this any better! Thank You Douva I love a good mystery...let's see some photos. _________________________________________ Old age ain't no place for sissies!
