  1. I just wanted to take this opportunity to say that Skydive San Marcos ROCKS! Thank you for your warm welcome and the jumps and memories that you shared with us crazy canadians! (Yes we really did drive 1500 miles just to do a few jumps) Anyone thinking of checking this place out, definitely do so. The folks there are top notch. 2. My first Canopy was entirely pink... ...need I say more. Age S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.
  3. Adam, I don't really know you and we have never met but I hope you had a great run, and continue to have a fun filled exciting life. It is strange but everytime I read a post such as yours I experience feelings of pretty big sadness like it is personal, like there is a "disturbance in the force" that is palpable. May good fortune befall you in everything you strive to acheive. Adrian S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.
  4. Don't think that this will be relevant to you because we are Canada and governed by Transport Canada but we cross a taxiway at the Winnipeg Skydiving Centre as well. The same can also be said for the Edmonton Skydiving Centre but there the instructor landing area is on the same side of the taxiway as the buildings so they don't have to cross it. 5. Just because you have never seen or heard of it doesn't mean that it can't happen. If it had happened to you as it is alleged, I am sure you would be asking some questions too.. But it is as you have implied a big misunderstanding. Age S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.
  6. "Gay" or not... One of my favorite drinks is Bailey's on the rocks... hmmm hmmmm good! S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.
  7. Are you planning to buy one? I had a BT-60 for my first canopy. I don't know what I would compare it too though. AS you know it was semi-elliptical (taper tailed). It was a fairly fast opener. I didn't mind it but some that jumped it complained. Turns were fairly snappy but not stilletto like, very flat glide, I used to overshoot all of the time in till I got used to just how far out I would have to set up on it. Never had any problems with collapsing or anything like that near the ground. I also landed that in every direction safely and was very happy with it. I would say it was also fairly forgiving of inconsistent packing too, cause I tried everything with that canopy, and never got it spun up or had to cut it away. don't know if this helps or not.. 8. I agree with what the folks above are saying as well... also try to keep your DZ profile up to date as well! It sometimes helps people that are answering your questions understand better who they are talking to, and helps rule out trolls Adrian S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.
  9. I guess that means it won't be in the States.... Adrian S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.
  10. I find it amusing to some degree as law suits don't really go on as much up here so even the thought process behind the reason someone feels that they should be able to sue is interesting to me. I don't know that you can ever be 100% sure of your opening but if you don't have time or are too lazy to pack for yourself then I agree you take what you get. Afterall you pay for the packjob and not the opening Here Here. Adrian S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.
  11. It's a long cold winter here in Manitoba, luckily I went to Alberta at the end of our season or my jumping would have ended earlier. My jump itch is really developing into more of a rash Adrian S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.
  12. That is some of the funniest Shit I have read in a long time. LOL Adrian S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.
  13. I didn't see this post before you edited out the name of the canopy but save to say I probably wouldn't be flying that canopy in the first place. Most of the hard openers are known. Yet peopes still insist on flying them and dealing with the 1/100jump hard opener that they get or whatever the number, and calling it a great canopy. I think that is a choice that THEY make not the canopy manufacturer. Besides I don't think that there is any guarantees from the canopy manufacturers that there products won't open hard, I know about a warning that says it could result in injury or cause death. So no I don't believe that I would sue.. Besides I live in Canada.. we hardly sue for anything up here Age edit: cause I can't spell lol S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.
  14. I figured that you knew that.. I just wanted to point it out for anyone that was reading. It seems that lately I have been encountereing more people that don't know that they are different wings. cheers, Adrian S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.

  17. Defintely one of the most entertaining posts I have read in a while... In fact the whole thread.. I am curious how many people on here would be willing to buy a brand new car, and then mod it so that it functions as it should. Age S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.
  18. You have opened a can of worms... But I agree with you.. Sabre owners for the most part are in denial. I come from a smaller DZ where for many years most had Sabres or Stilettos. And many still do.. So I have seen them broken (and still do) after a weekend of jumping hobbling back to their vehicles. yet they still say "it's a solid canopy" a solid opening canopy is more like it. I know others as well that have done many jumps and never been slammed. It is these folks that help other sabre owners remain in their state of denial. Some have avoided their slams by lending their canopies to others for the fateful slam openings. Perhaps the Sabre canopies are all possessed? Some like their masters and others don't. Thus the reason the slamming is inconsistent. More realistically I don't think it is a PD Quality control issue but there is some kind of stochastic variable in the design of this canopy. Did I mention I love my Stiletto? Age S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.
  19. I was gonna say : Mine is Orange... and yes it is an RI container... S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.
  20. I'll add to that: Be nice if it could. Though we think we are almost done with it the North American society isn't done with it. We have simply moved it into the dark. Age S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.
  21. dude, I know that you didn't mean anything. Just wanted people to think about that term. You happened to be the first to use it I don't. And I try to encourage people not to think like that. Thus my original post. Racism can come from anywhere. To give you an example I recently started hanging out with a serbian girl. She and her father got into a fight over something and he in a fit of anger asked "if she needed a little black in her" referring to her hanging out with me. History and In the box thinking is what has that poor SA kid suspended. By the way. Thanks for responding and still supporting your position. It might seem strange to you but generally if I get involved in a race conversation it involves a lot of wide eyes, silence and backing up on the part of others. It's cool to actually have someone not feel like they need to apologize when they haven't done anything worth apologizing for. Adrian (afro-canadian?) S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.
  22. I don't believe that it is "racist" as you say but I do agree that there are many double standards around issues like this in both American and Canadian Societies. Though I may seem biased I look at it like this. If I am a Jewish Philanthopist and decide to give money for an award to a school I may want to help out other lesser fortunate jews. Since it is my money and my award I think that I should have a say in who gets it. Scholarships are done like this a lot in Uni. And of course there are Scholarships for all races creeds religions and ultimately people availible. I don't agree that he should be in trouble for applying though. I think that the term african-american is a terrible one for what it was meant to mean (hope that makes sense). And Yes.. That student is African American to me. Age S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.
  23. Gotta love an expression that inplies that white on black racism is "forward" and therefore normal. I'd say more on that but I don't think you meant anything by it just didn't think about what that means. Age S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.
