  1. Had a line over once on a student Main. A Cruiselite 220 if memory serves. I had just jumped from a helicopter and 3500. Canopy looked like a lopsided bowtie, and spun violently.. 1 lineover 1 chop. Age S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.

Fly by feel! A very wise person once told me the following while speaking on this subject of landing at different dzs : If you don't perceive a difference, then there isn't one.. EsG S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.

  4. 111, Though some people may have had different experiences with the Spectre mine has been the same as yours. Even if your measurement of how long the opening takes isn't technically accurate, they do take longer than other canopies to open. You aren't imagining anything. Though I have never owned one I did borrow a friends for several jumps(15+) one season. He warned me not to pull low. He stated that "if it looks like it is just going to keep sniveling look and reach for your handles, she knows to open then" He as making a joke of course but once or twice that is what I did. My experience is they take 700-1100 feet to open. The openings are soft as a down-filled duvet but it does take its time. I have pulled at 2500 and only been ready to go at 1300, which coupled with the fact that it wants to find the ground slightly faster than a nine-cell can give you a start if you aren't expecting it.If this bothers you, I would say that the canopy isn't for you. When others are talking about getting a spectre I caution them about the length of the openings. Coming from an engineering background I see the length in openings as a tradeoff for the soft and on-headingness (made up the word) of them. I have talked to several others that fly them and have come to the conclusion that this is pretty much the norm. You can shorten them up sometimes but I think it depends on more than just your packing technique. age S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.

  7. my roomie is into mozilla, and presented a good case for it but I never got into it. Didn't really feel like changing browsers at the time. I like MYIE2 cause it isn't really a whole new browser it just adds functions that should be in the one that I want to use, all in a small 3.3MB d/l. age S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.

  13. are the pack volumes for pd reserves listed anywhere? I had a website once that listed pack volumes of various canopies but I lost the link. fool has a good head on him and researches lots, as well is a very skilled canopy pilot for his jump numbers(not everyone is a clueless newbie, but I guess we all have a little of 100 jump wonder in us). All that being said does anyone know for sure whether the 113 will fit? EsG S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.

  16. FFG! I noticed that you took some heat a while ago over your name... I wish there was a facility for us on here to change our login names cause I would have joined you with the name I use almost everywhereelse but on DZ.com. Oh and we have some other friends too.. check out the attachment.... So to anyone who has a problem with these names... know that we are growing in number. And you won't be able to stop the evolution... EbonySkyGod (EsG) S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.
  17. This doesn't surprise me. I read somewhere about a jumper doing studies that involved jumping with a portable pulse meter device that would record pulse rate vs time. After studying the information for several jumps it was deteremined that pulse rate spiked at pull time... so there may be something to it.. 18. sorry to see you go. I didn't really get to "know" you all of that well but read some of your posts and I didn't have a problem with anything that I could think of.. age S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.
  19. thanks for the link... I hadn't heard. It will be interesting to see what happens with that. I don't think that it will end the flow though because there were uploads before there was tivo but it sure will make things different. age S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.

  22. hmmm... mine only does that when I have a brake release prematurely... it doesn't happen too often but when it does the toggle can still be in the keeper. Have you eliminated this possiblility? Adrian S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.

  25. Unless I misunderstood his meaning he didn't say that it would contribute to safety. He did say that it would keep you sharp. I believe that they are not necessarily inclusive ideas. ah grasshopper.. when you can answer that question then you will be readyto land the Cobalt 25 S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.
