  5. As a canadian "growing up" in the sport I don't believe in buying new. That being said the current status of the american dollar makes it quite attractive. I often tell students and others that a good used main is the way to go. for several reasons: 1: They are still learning what they want to fly and to blow the motherload on the new gear just doesn't make sense when they may change canopies in 200 jumps. 2: When we bring gear into Canada, I'll use Manitoba for instance we pay the grear price which right now works out to USD * 1.3 (but it used to be 1.5 or more) and then we pay 14% tax on the declared value. When doing that math to Canadian dollars we could end up spending 2800$ CDN on a new main. And then we still need a reserve a container and an AAD. So as a result most of both of my rigs have been second hand. I sprung for a new container last time around. Adrian S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.
  6. And what is wrong with pink! My first canopy was entirely pink... and in that spirit when I got my voodoo I had a splash of pink added for old time sake... guess we aren't all as in touch with our inner female EsG S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.
  7. I have had I cutaway! It was jump number 35 and I was jumping at a place in the city that we don't usually jump (paraski), from an unfamiliar aircraft (Bell 206B Helo) and had a line over. I didn't have my own gear at the time so I was borrowing student gear. My ex girlfriend had packed it for me. Adrian P.S. I don't blame her for any of it . 9. Yes the BT is a semi eliptical. Mine was also a BT-60 at 173 sqr feet if memory serves. I had about 65 jumps when I bought it. It was ZeroP which made the deal even sweeter and I had people paying attention to me as I flew and giving coaching. That being said I only weigh about 150. 16. Fairly bold statement. Can you back that up with facts? I would be interested to know that as you make an interesting point. Governments have had worse Ideas.. Age S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.
  17. Sounds like a creative way to babysit 4 year olds! I grew up in a system that ended at Grade 11 and where we started at age 5. After moving I had to do Grade 12 and found that it was a useless year in terms af academics as I had seen everything before. 20. you know you are right! I will have to check that when I get my rig back. Doesn't seem like anyone else has any light to shed on this though... Age S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.
  21. No it isn't less than my exit weight and thus why I haven't really investigated it until now. Now that I think about it though I think that mine says 148.5kg on it too for max weight. My rig is not here with me now otherwise I would check. Adrian S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.
  22. I never really thought about it that way. Mainly because the person that I am talking about isn't the sharpest tool in the shed and though he has way more jumps than I do, I have at different points in time, deemed him dangerous and refused to fly in the same airspace as him. I always chalked it (his lack of heeding advice) up to that. Denial. Interesting concept in this context. Thanks for that food for thought. 23. Hi I also had the same question about my stiletto, also manufactured in the mid 90's has a lower max weight than I expected and not the weight that is listed on PDs site. I have a hunch but I am curious if anyone knows for sure what the reason is. Adrian S.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.

  25. Skypuppy, I respect your opinion and am just asking some qs here for clarification and to determine how certain things fit into your view of things in and maybe adjust mine if it all makes sense in the end. You mentioned I am curious what that makes people in that range to you. And by saying this are you saying that they are unfit to give advice period. I may only have ~300 jumps but I gave some minor Canopy control advice to someone (with a lot more jumps than I have) many times this summer that if he had heeded it, he would not have ended up in our Incidents forum or in the cast that he is now wearing. based on you way of thinking should I not have been giving him advice on his canopy flight? hope this doesn't sound like a challenge cause it is not supposed to be. I just find your opinion interesting and am trying to explore it further. Adrian (
